My new obsession

I have an obsession. I've been going to spin class and I love it.

Spin Classes
I really want to do a triathlon! I was seriously contemplating doing a tri in June. However since it's 21 days away and I haven't started training I think it will have to wait. This obsession is leading to my new obsession
Road Biking. It's pretty similar except you bike outside oh and without an instructor. My only problem now is I need a bike. Does anyone have a bike they want to let me try out so I can decide if I really love this enough to shell out the money for a bike? I have shoes so that won't be a problem.

Also, if anyone hears of a good bike for a great price let me know!

Still not sure how I feel about spandex but I guess they are a must.

Hitting a Pedestrian Changes Your Life

All I could think of today to describe how I felt was the billboard I always see on the freeway (have you seen it?)"hitting a pedestrian changes yoru life" I wish I had a picture of the billboard for this post.

Please be safe out there!

Today Brody and I were taking a run/walk with Jack. I'm a super paranoid person when it comes to safety so I always stop before I cross a cross walk even if I have the right of way man flashing at me. People around here don't pay attention especially when turning across traffic or coming up on a red light/ right turn. As I approached the intersection I looked around no cars coming anywhere behind me, none were to my side waiting to turn and very few were coming at me. None were in the turn lane to turn across traffic. Check green light let's cross. As I neared the end of the first lane I happened to see a car coming across traffic turning straight at us. I immediately stopped realizing she wasn't looking but had not time to react. As she headed for us she finally looked forward to swerve and barely miss Jack who was walking about a 1.5 feet a head. He jumped back and she missed him by about 6 inches. I couldn't believe it. There was only one lane in her direction and we were almost through it which means she was already in the wrong lane before she swerved even farther. Had there been a car she would have nailed it for sure. I was screaming with my arms up at her as she kept driving. She pulled over for a second once I'd gotten across the street but at that point I had walked a few feet a sat down. She drove off. I figured yelling more explitives after he wasn't going to do any good. I called 911. I know that's a little extreme and I'm sure it was an accident but just because it was an accident doesn't mean the next person will be so lucky. I got half of her Colorado license plate and a great description of her car. Don't worry it didn't take long for the nice policeman to find her. He called me back and said there were two options. He could give her a wreckless driving ticket or a stern warning. I had cooled down a bit by the time he called (lucky for her) I told him to just give her a stern warning. I figured a ticket would do her no good she would probably be more stuck on the fact that she got the ticket than that she almost killed 2 people and a dog. He said ok and that if she gave him any attitude he'd give her the ticket.

Moral of the story... Be super careful when crossing the street and even more carful when you are driving. I know when you get to an intersection to turn across traffic we all just look for that quick openning to cut across traffic and forget to check the crosswalk. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remember to check for pedestrians and remember "hitting a pedestrian changes your life"

My little boy is growing up

I can't believe Brody is getting so big. He's my little cheeser!

A few things he's been doing lately....

A few new words
Un-cle
gO
Shoos (shoes)
Cheees (cheese)

Sitting in the naughty corner. That's right I have a naughty corner and I use it. Brody willingly goes there when told. sits on his bottom and even sometimes waits for me to tell him he can come out. It's pretty funny

He hate's letting go of his doggy. He would cry every time I tried to take his dog so he could eat breakfast

He loves to touch his head, eyes, ears, mouth and nose and especially his tummy

(don't mind my ugly outfit and pink shoes I had the flu)

He's very good at self entertaining

He loves his daddy

and his Mommy

and of course his doggy Jack!

Alpine man indicted in Ponzi scheme

I just read an interesting article about Rick Koerber who was indicted for his alleged ponzi scheme here in Utah. I'll leave you to decide if you think he is guilty or not.

I can't Believe I'm 25!

Sorry it's a few days late. But, I can't believe I'm a quarter century! My morning started out pretty normal. I got up and ready for the gym. Brody and I came downstairs to find my birthday presents sitting in the family room. There wasn't enough birthday wrap so Jeremy decided to get creative.

Brody helped me open my gifts

then decided to try them out myself. You have to love large shoes on a kid!

I was lucky enough to get my heart rate watch and cycle shoes for the spin class I've been doing. I Love spin. I can't wait to save enough money to get a road bike!

Brody really wanted to wish me a happy birthday. He was trying to smile so hard for me

After working out it was off to the race. It was a pretty busy day. I enjoyed time with Brody, went to dinner with Jeremy and Brody and was surprised with a yummy cake from Cold Stone. Brody loved the cake I loved these two pictures. Brody was trying so hard to give me some smiles

I ended the night with some good fun and relaxation at my cousin's baby shower. Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes.

Here's a sneak peak at tomorrow's post about Brody growing up!

I've seen the light

The other day I was reminded of what a bad blogger I have been. I've been so busy with so many things I've let my personal blog take a dive. I'm sure I've lost my readers but here it goes for the few readers I have left. Spread the word I'm back and determined to be a better blogger. I do apologize if my posts are out of order

Over the memorial day weekend we were able to head down to Mt. Pleasant. Jeremy's parent's just moved there and were nice enough to let us and our friends use their house while they were out of town. We had so much fun roasting marshmlows, letting the kids run around on their property and playing games. Brody loved having a yard to play in and Jack did too. Jeremy said he was "dog of the year" we let him run all around with out a leash and he would come back when we called. I couldn't believe it. If you've read previous posts about me running after my dog or you've been lucky enough to catch the craziness you know when Jack get's out it's a great ordeal to get him back. We all loved his new found freedom and we are hoping he's just as good here.Sorry I didn't take may pictures of our trip but here is Jack with the guys building a fire.

Here is your sneak peak for tomorrow's 25th Birthday post. I though this was a great picture of Brody from my birthday.

He couldn't get enough of he birthday cake and never managed to get it off his upper lip :)

Oops My Bad

I went to target today to get a few more awesome deals on snacks for Brody. While I was there I planned to pick up a present for my niece who is turning 1 tomorrow. I had my cart full of treats for Brody stopped to look at some things and then got on the phone with my sister-in-law to find out what toys she had before I bought something. I was so distracted walking all over the store I finally ended up on the other end of the store where  I found the perfect gift. I turned around to put the gift into my cart when I did I saw that it wasn't my cart. I had been pushing someone else's cart all over the store I was mortified. I quickly left the cart and went back to find mine hoping that who evers cart I had taken wouldn't be around. I found my cart and quickly checked out. How embarassing.

I'm turning 25

I'm not sure how I feel about turning 25. It's sneaking up on me way to fast. I didn't even realize it's only 4 days away! It's been a good month so far. Mother's day and my upcoming birthday mean I finally get to start getting thing's on my want list!

For mothers day Jeremy got me the coolest waffle iron. Inspired by our friend the Ferguson's I was dying to get the waffle iron to start a family tradition of yummy waffles for Christmas Breakfast. Our friends gave us the most amazing waffle recipe I wish I could eat it every day. I know so many people have asked me to post it on my blog. Give me a few days I need to double check with our friends before I share it with the world.

Next on my list is a heart rate monitor for working out.
(Hint hint if Jeremy is reading this... best price is on amazon.com :) ) I'd also like some indoor spin shoes too but I guess I'll have to go try some on before I tell you.

If anyone is looking for an awesome workout I started spin thanks to my friend Whitney. I'm addicted it's so great. (you don't have to have shoes I just want some) I don't think I've been so tired or worked so hard it's great! If anyone wants to join me let me know (I'd post my schedule but I don't need a stalker)

In other news we just got back from Washington. Brody and I spent a week with my family. It was so much fun. Brody had a blast with his cousin Bryce. I've been working with Brody on obedience and he's spent a few times in the "naughty corner" for getting on the table. Well... While we were at my mom's house he kept getting on her glass coffee table. I'd tell him he was naughty get him down and he would go to the "naughty corner" well one afternoon my mom was watching the boys Brody got on the table. My mom was on the phone and Bryce came over to tell her that Brody was being naughty and needed to go to the naughty corner. My mom tried to explain he didn't understand and asked him to help him off the table since she was on the phone. Bryce walked over to Brody, helped him off the table, told him he was naughty and ushered him over to the corner where Brody sat down and sat in the naughty corner. My mom was dying of laughter. Overall it was so much fun I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. My family is so funny

I would love to share pictures but I forgot my camera.

I'm neglecting my blog

I'm sorry I've been neglecting all of you. I have been super busy finding all of you great deals. If you didn't know I've started a blog with my friend Carrian all about gread deals for groceries, houshold items, needs and even wants! I'm super passionate about it and it's showing in my lack of blogging here. I'm sorry I will try and be better. You should check out the blog though. I saved over $300 last month on groceries and other house hold items only spending $150. Make sure to tell all of your friends. With the way the economy is I'm so grateful that we are able to share ways to save with other people so that we can all save money!

As for my family we are pretty busy these days. Brody is getting so big he makes me laugh all day long. His favorite things to do lately include getting on the furniture, running away from me, rolling his eyes or prettending he doesn't see me when I catch him doing things he shouldn't. He also loves to play outside! We have been visiting my family in Washington this past week for Mothers day. He has had so much fun playing with his Aunts and Uncles and especially running around playing with his cousin Bryce. It's been so fun to see them interact. They are so cute together.

I don't think I've laughed so hard in my entire life as I have this past week. I some how forgot how stinking funny my family is. I've been all out dying of laughter almost this whole week from all of the funny stories and jokes my family has been telling me. It makes me miss WA! I've also been able to hang out with my best friend Courtney. Thanks so much for working out with me and making me laugh just as much. You and Casey are the best. We wish we lived close. I don't think anyone would get anything done but it would be well worth it.

That's our life in a nutshell. Life is crazier than ever. I'm turning 25 this month and not sure how I feel about that. I'm sure it will be great. I'm having the time of my life. I have an amazing husband, cutest little boy in the world, a fun dog, great life, wonderful family and extended family, and I'm loving every minute. Here is to 25!

I forgot my camera. don't hate me!
