Here goes nothing...

Blogging is hard for me because I'm an OCD perfectionist person and I have  a two year old that thinks that my attention should be on her 24/7. Which it has to be because if it is ever quiet and she is more then 5 ft away from me I know she is up to no good. The other day she was in her gymnastics room for a suspiciously long time with out crying that she wanted me there with her and when I peeked in to check on her she had climbed up onto the shelf in the closet and was holding one of our turtles upside down saying "turtle sleeping, shhh!" I had to laugh because this is what I say to her all the time about the turtles so she won't try to touch them. And then the turtle peed on her and my laughing turned into disgust as I rushed her to the bathroom praying she wouldn't get some turltle disease.
I should clarify that we had turtles  but now we just have a turtle... The other day I decided I wanted the turtles to be outside and introduced to Sammy. She didn't pay hardly any attention to them until I started to clean up dog poop and roo  felt like I was ignoring her so she started crying for me to hold her. Short story short, I saw Sammy in the corner of the backyard with the little turtle in her mouth! She punctured his shell and I called Jamie outside to let him know about the emergency :( We both didn't know what to do but I told him it was his responsibility to do something since he was the dad. He took the turtle (Larry) out of the backyard and came back saying that luckily one of our neighbors was a vet and that the turtle was gonna be ok.... In turtle heaven... Later that day kelsie was feeding Fitz and kept saying "where's other turtle? Where's other turtle? Outside? Outside?" :( poor Larry.
Sammy the turtle killer! She's really not a bad dog and it's my fault for being irresponsible :/

We're gearing our backyard up for summer time fun! And Jamie and I make some pretty mean burgers if you wanna come over for a BBQ!
Livin the good life- playing outside all day!

My veggie plants that have yet to produce any veggies :/

One of these days I will post pics of what our backyard used to look like cuz it's come a long long way since what it used to be when Jamie first moved in!

Oops I forgot about the thunderstorm part of the last post

So I eventually did run errands like the responsible adult that I am with a flailing toddler that was hungry and getting close to bed time :) AnywAys.. Long story short, we had to walk to the truck in a microburst and it was so fun! We both got soaked just from running to the car but we got even more soaked from dancing in the parking lot. We both looked like wet lil puppies :)

Poor roo got scared as we were driving home and was screaming  "all done, all done, all done" and i could barely hear her and couldn't really pay attention to her since it was rainin so hard. When we got home I unloaded groceries an it was still pouring rain. This is where I should get mother of the year award... I made roo dance in the rain with me again and we played in the street cuz it had turned into a stream.... Then I thought to myself that I really shouldn't let her play in the street... But we kept playing. Then I noticed lightning... But it wasn't close and I have always played out in the rain even with lighting and I made it this far.... So we kept playing. Then I went to pick her up and noticed she was shivering but having a blast and that's when I had to draw the line and take her inside. Even though when I took her inside she was still shivering and crying "I go outside, I go outside, I go outside". And that my friends is why I deserve the mother of the year award :) We had changed and had to run more errands so since I was driving Jamie's big truck we wet looking for trouble :) there was downed trees, light poles and TONS of flooded parts of the street down sossaman. At one point the flooded fields and flooded road looked like it was one big lake and we drove through cuz there were cars that were making it through. And yes, I am aware of the stupid motorist law in AZ :)

McDonalds and thunderstorms

So yesterday was one of those days where I was dragging kelsie along trying to get all of my errands done while trying to chase/scold/entertain/hold a flailing toddler that thinks she's a grown up and needs to rearrange every item on the shelf once she gets down as I'm trying to grocery shop. Doesn't sound very fun for mommy or roo does it? So we decided to go to McDonald's instead of doing all our errands which turned out to be way more fun for Roo's first time. She loved playing on the jungle gym thing there and it was perfect for her. I was that overly cautious mom that was standing by her the whole time while all the other moms were sitting at the tables, but it's ok. Kelsie is boarder line being able to climb anything and everything without me being there to catch her but I can't help it. She even ate chicken nuggets for the first time and ate her lunch really well since she was so distracted. They have cleaned up the McDonald's really well so the idea of going to micky-D's is not as gross as it used to be :)

We stayed for almost 2 hours lol! Then it was nap time so I dropped her off at home with Jamie so they could take a nap together. And then I went out and ran my errands... Ok not really... That would hav been the responsible thing to do :) I picked up Elyse and we hit up DI and name brand exchange and got BOBBAs (which she had never had). Sometimes a girls gotta have some momma time even if it means being completely unproductive :)

Daddy's Girl

Ever heard the country song by Gary Allan called "Tough Little Boys"? Of course not, because half of you don't like country music... Ya crazies! Well the lyrics go something like this... "When tough little boys grow up to be dads they turn into big babies again." And I think these pics of Jamie and Roo at the mall can add some truth to that song :)

And like I posted before... Note to self- do not pay $5 for a 20 min ride when kelsie's attention span is only 2 minutes! :) At least she had fun and both her and Jamie looked pretty cute on that extremely slow, overpriced scooter thing.

Playing with worms

Is it normal that I love the fact that kelsie got to play with her first worm while we were camping for the Fourth of July?

She was just so proud of herself and was so intrigued at how it was trying to wiggle out of her hand.

We love going up to Heber for their AMAZING firework show. The fireworks seem like they are going off right on top of you and the sound that echoes through the canyons is pretty impressive. Now I love camping, but let me tell you... Camping with 2 curious 1.5 year olds is not exactly the relaxing experience that camping used to be. Still totally worth getting away from the city, but difficult nonetheless.

Yes, this is Jamie's shirt that I've tried multiple times to hide in the closet so he will just forget about it, but he finds it every time. He loves it so much that I just can't bring myself to get rid of it for good...

Waiting for the fireworks to start! They shoot the fireworks off from the football field which is lower down in the valley and everyone is on the baseball fields with blankets and chairs.

She loves playing in the truck! That's all her and Hunter wanted to do all weekend.
Perhaps the best part about camping was the snot that was continuously running down her nose that got caked with dirt when she would fall lol.

Shootin' the breeze with daddy in the hammock.

She kept trying to wipe herself with glow sticks ?? and was saying "I go potty, I go potty". Silly girl!

Silly boys, trucks are for girls! :)

I have a pic just like this of me when I was her age :) Gotta instill the love of campin when they're young!

Ready to pass out on the drive home :) she took a much needed 3.5 hr nap in her bed when we got home!

Gilbert temple

I can't wait until the Gilbert temple is finished and I can't invite my fam to the open house! I stole this pic from Facebook and it's so pretty! Note to self- make more time to go to the Mesa temple cuz it's just as beautiful.

Sickie

Poor lil Roo threw up twice last night and twice today :( It's the saddest thing to see her throw up and look at me like I need to stop it. She's not acting super sick like its the flu so I'm hoping it's just a stomach bug that will pass quick cuz I don't like my baby girl being sick. It's really hard for me not to revert to nurse mode when she's sick.

Some of My Favorite Songs... at the moment ;)
