My Handyman

Ryan has been busy trying to get the baby room finished. When we found out we were having a baby girl we thought we would make the 'red room' the baby room. I found a really cute crib set that was red and was way excited we wouldn't have to paint. Well, it didn't quite work out that way. The crib set was a totally different color than the red wall... so Ryan got busy painting. We, well Ryan, painted the wall three times before we found a color we actually like. I'll tell ya Ryan has been so patient during all my mind changes! Thanks Ry!


Then came finding some furniture. We thought it would be neat to have a dresser that doubled as a changing table, but the ones we found were way too expensive. We found this cute dresser at Target and again, Ryan got busy putting it together. Then he thought he would get some trim and add a border to hold the changing pad.

After a looooong search for a corner shelf to go in the baby room, Ryan came to me with a drawing of a shelf he could make. That night he started building. The trim he is using matches the trim he used for the dresser. Wow, talk about getting everything you want! Ryan is so creative and having him make the furniture means a whole lot more than just buying it at some random store! Thanks again Ry! I am lucky to have you! I love you!


I'll post more pictures once the shelf is finished! I can't wait to see it done and in the room!

Quilting with Grandma

One Friday when Ryan was working a night shift, my mom came up and we tied a blanket for the baby. It is a really soft pink, blue, yellow and green flannel. She is now going to crochet around the edges to finish it off. For Christmas Ryan's mom also made a cute pink blanket for the baby. We are so lucky to have mom's that are excited for the arrival of their 10th grandchild. You think another child would be an old story, but they are just as excited as they were for their first! Thanks Moms! We love you both!

More Good Buys!

We found our stroller and car seat!!! That is a major accomplishment considering we had no idea where to begin or what we were looking for. We found this amazing stroller at USA Baby. Ryan really wanted a stroller called the 'Bob', but it felt way to big for me so he settled for the Baby Jogger City Mini. It is the lightest stroller and so easy for me to fold and pick up. We are so excited to be able to use it.

We found our car seat by looking online at the list of the car seats that would be compatible with the stroller. We decided to go with straight black so we can hopefully use it in the future when we have a baby boy!

Happy Valentines Day!!

For Valentines this year Ryan surprised me with flowers, chocolates, a small teddy bear, Hollister sweats and a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure. For Ryan I decorated the mirror in the bathroom and gave him basketball shorts and jacket and some new shoes. Then we went to dinner at Ruby Rivers Steakhouse. Yum!


For our ward Valentines party about nine guys got together a did a floor show. For about a month or two Ryan would go to dance practice at the church every Saturday morning. He had so much fun even though he has never danced a day in his life. He did so good and it was fun seeing what he had practiced for!
