Runnin' From the Law

Lately I haven't been keeping track of Jaxonism's. I feel really bad, because he's still always saying funny stuff, and I can't remember most of it. Here are three I do remember:

  • A little while ago, Jax informed me that Ryan better hurry home, 'cause the cops were after him. Since then, when we've been in the car a few times, Jax will suddenly yell, "Mom, go faster! The cops are coming, they're gonna get us!" Who knew we were such rebels:)?
  • A few weeks ago, one of Ryan's accounts at work had a load with drugs on it. Jordyn was at our house last week and Jax told her, "Jordyn, we better stay here. If we don't Dad's truck will have drugs on it again!" I guess he was listening a little closer than we thought. Good thing no one else heard, or they may have thought I have a dealer for a husband.
  • Last night, Jax was in his room by himself, and we heard a really loud noise, like something falling over. Jax ran into our room, and told Ryan, "Dad, it never happened." We still don't know what it was that supposedly "never happened."

I am going to make a goal to start keeping track of our Jaxonism's better. It will be great to have a record of this stuff when he gets older.

I Hate Teeth

Okay, so I like teeth once they are in, but I forgot how much I hate teething! I knew Becks was close to getting teeth, but I thought we had a little more time. Not so much. I came home from a church Volleyball tourney on Saturday, Nov 15, to see that both of Beckham's front bottom teeth were through the skin and a few on the top were on their way. Normally Beckham is one of the happiest kids I've ever seen, but lately, that hasn't so much been the case. He doesn't sleep at night, and during the day he wants to be held all the time. I picked this time to start running in the mornings at 5:30, and I am a walking zombie because I wake up so early after not sleeping hardly at all at night. I know, I'm just complaining, but I can't help it. During the day, I feel really sorry for Becks and the pain he is in, but when night comes I start thinking about how hard it is on me (selfishly). Hopefully it passes soon. On a brighter note, Beckham is starting to eat baby food. Last night he had his first taste, besides rice cereal and oatmeal, and absolutely loved it! He ate Sweet Potatoes, and I couldn't get it in his mouth fast enough for him. Every time I put the spoon in he would get so excited that he would spit part of it back at me. It was pretty funny. I ended up with yummy a.b.c. sweet potatoes on my shirt, but I'm glad he likes it. Here's some pictures of the aftermath of the big event. I should have taken a picture of my sweet potato covered shirt too:).

HaLlOwEeN

I was trying to take a picture of Spiderman before we went out trick-0r-treating, but he was hiding from me in the hall and wouldn't put his mask on. This is the best I could do.

Becks was a penguin for Halloween. Here he is on my mother-in-law, Nancy's lap.

We went around the neighborhood with Kara and Kambri of course. Kara's neice and nephew came with us as well. Jax loved going with the other kids.

This will be a good photo to put in their wedding video, don't you think?

Jax insisted on riding in Kambri's wagon with her, so Bennett had to find alternate transportation. Thanks Kara and Brandon:).

Jax at the tail-end of his fit (winding down). As you can tell he didn't love his picture taken, but whatev. Gotta capture the memories, good or bad, right?!

Does this kid look done, or what?! Here we are getting back to our house at the end of the night.

It seems like the older Jax gets, the more fun Halloween is. He loved going from door to door and saying, "Trick-or-treat!" This year I had my parents, Ry's parents, and my brother Jarod and his girlfriend over for dinner on Halloween. My mom and I took Jax out trick-or-treating and everyone else stayed at my house to give out candy. Apparently my 'rents and in-laws don't get many trick-or-treaters these days, so it was okay they were all at my house. We had plenty of trick-or-treaters come. Jax had a great time until we got to the other end of the neighborhood, in front of our old house, and then he threw a huge fit. I think he was just overwhelmed by the whole Halloween thing (this was his third trick-or-treating experience in two days), and he was done. I had to carry him hitting, kicking, and screaming, towards home. About half way home my mom told him he needed to be nice to his mom (since he was hitting and kicking ME), and his cry-screaming changed to screaming "I don't want to be nice to my mom!" the rest of the way home. He was screaming so loud people told us they could hear him down the street. SO MUCH FUN!!! Once we were home he was fine because then we let him give the candy to the kids who came to the door. Overall, it was a really fun Halloween. I loved that it was so warm! I can't wait for next year!

HaIrS CuT

Yes, that's right, I mean hairs cut. I think it included all of about fifteen hairs, or maybe a few more;). Beckham had grown some OUTRAGEOUSLY long hair on the top of his head, and the rest of his head was pretty bald. Most of the time they swept to one side like a bad comb-over. I was doing my hair one morning last week and decided to see exactly how far I could make the hairs stand up on his head with my hair wax. The following was the result:

My mom and some others had been giving me grief about how badly Beckham needed a hair cut, but I truly didn't realize it was this bad. I don't know why, but I was being a wimp about cutting Becks' hair, thinking it made him less of a little baby for some reason. Plus, I figured it was only a few hairs:). After seeing how bad the hair really was with wax in it, I took action. I think the result is pretty cute, don't you? He's still pretty much bald on the rest of his head, but he's kept it on top! Isn't that the opposite of most men;)?

Black Island Farm

On October 27 we went to Black Island Farm with some of my cute friends and their kiddies. It was so much fun!!! Thanks Lex and Toni for setting it up. This is definitely going to have to become a yearly tradition! Jax had so much fun with all his little friends, and there was so much for them to do. First, we went on a tractor ride out to a pumpkin patch and the kids got to pick out their own pumpkins. Then we got to go into a huge area with big slides (I think the moms had as much fun on the slides as the kids:)), animals, a train, and more. It turned out to be such a long day, but so worth it. The kids had a blast!

Ashley at the top of the fun slide.
Toni heading down with Piper.
My friends and a few of the kids (most were out playing). Missing: Ashley and Toni (taking the picture)
Jax was so excited when he got his pumpkin!

I love my boys!

Kara, the kids, and me on our tractor ride.

Here's our guide man on our tractor ride. He was a great guy, even going back out to find Avery's boot! Yeah for tractor man!

The kids LoVeD the train ride. Always a hit!
