The Big Toy

I forgot to post a picture of the entire big toy they were playing on in the post below. Here it is! Awesome!

Yeah, We're Dorks

I'm ready to admit it -- I'm a big dork. I woke up this morning and drove Jax to my friend Nicole's mom's house to stay with her kids while we went to get wristbands for the Breaking Dawn book, the fourth in the Twilight series. I already had one reserved at Barnes and Noble in Layton, but apparently you can't buy it at midnight tomorrow night without a wristband. They had 2500 to give out, and I think Nicole and I were around 500 and we got there 10 minutes after they started giving them out. People camped out there since 10 PM in order to get the wristbands (that's a little over the top, even for me:)). It was pretty ridiculous. The line was wrapped around the front, side, and back of Barnes and Noble. We were in line for 1 hr 15 minutes just for them to hand us a wristband. They coded the wristbands with the character's names in order of importance, starting with Edward, Bella, Jacob, etc. We got Rosalie wristbands. I feel like an even bigger geek because I have a wristband on that reads "Rosalie" and I have to wear it until tomorrow night. Nicole and I decided we wish they were color coded instead. Then at least we could pretend we had wristbands for a cool concert, and not that we were dorks with wristbands for a book;). They will let people in starting at midnight in groups according to the name on your wrist, obviously Edward will go first and so forth. Before we get the books apparently there is a Breaking Dawn party going on that the wristbands give us access too. That should be VERY entertaining. Can't wait to see the peeps dressed up in costumes and jazz. I'll take pictures so that you don't have to miss the ENTERTAINMENT either. Some people take it so serious. I already feel like a dork for even getting the wristband and staying up tomorrow night to get the book. Ryan will have to take care of the kids all night by himself. Needless to say, he's not so excited. He hasn't had to wake up once with Beckham so far.

After we got our wristbands we went back to Nicole's mom's house and let the kids swim. They have one of those really cool big toys (below). Jax LOVED it. He also loved Nicole's mom Renee. He kept calling her Grandma. A little out of order, but Beckham hanging out at Nicole's mom's house while Jax and the other kids swam

The back of Barnes and Noble. You can see my stroller and Nicole. That's where we were in line.
The side of Barnes and Noble. I forgot to take a pic of the line in front. VERY long.
Nicole and I waiting in line for the wristbands. I'm dressed like this because we were going swimming after :).

Celebrations!!!

Jax playing with sparklers in front of our house on the 24th

Jax and Becks at the Bountiful parade on July 23rd. It was a really cool, REALLY LONG, parade. I think it had around 111 floats!

Daddy feeding Becks while I played (can't nurse in 95 degree weather in public, too hot:))
Jax doing fireworks in front of our house on the 24th of July.

Don't you just love July and all of the celebrations? I know I do. It's my fav time of year. My fav celebration is on the 4th in Riverdale, but a close second is on the 23rd in Bountiful. There's a great parade, a carnival, and fireworks. Ry is from Woods Cross, so we always head down there with his family. This year, we went with my mom and Kara and Brandon instead. Kambri and Jax had a great time dancing to the music and watching the parade. Some of the floats were hilarious. There were 3 bagpipe bands as well as a TON of marching bands. Did you know Wendy's (the fast food restaurant) has a band?! Yeah, me neither. VERY entertaining;). We have had a great July. I just have been a slacker a little in my posting because we have been havin' fun!

Beckham's baby blessing is this Sunday and I'm getting really excited. He's two months old today! Wow, time flies.

Jaxonism's:

  • Grandma Sheri was over visiting with us out front of our house one night. She told Jax she had to go so he could go to sleep. He told her, "No Grandma, I don't have to go to sleep. I went to sleep last night."
  • On the night of the 24th we lit fireworks in the street in front of our house. Every time Ryan would light one Jax would say, "Loo-okin' goo-od." Random.
  • On Saturday we took Jax down to Gateway to run through the fountain and do some shopping. When we were in Old Navy I found a pair of sandals for Jax to try on. When I showed them to him he said, "Oh my gosh Mom! You're so wonderful!" I bet you never knew boys got so excited over clothes and shoes. His dad does too:)!

Memories Game

I got this off of my friends blog I thought it was a good idea. So here it goes.

The rules:1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Life With Jaxon

A few quick happenings in the life of Jaxon:

  • Ryan was watching TV with Jax last night when the Geico commercial came on with the cavemen. Jaxon looked at the TV screen and yelled, "Jesus!" I swear, this kid keeps me laughing constantly! I guess to a two-year-old there might be a slight resemblance...

  • A few nights ago I went into my bathroom and found Jaxon in my tub. He was naked, and he had turned the water on and had already partially filled up the tub. How scary is that?!! I feel like he and I are having SERIOUS talks all the time. We had to discuss why we don't get in the tub without Mommy or Daddy.

WHERE'S BECKHAM?!!!

I guess all of us have those "Oh Crap!" moments once in a while. I had a big one today. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I put Beckham on the floor in the front room while I was putting some stuff in the car to take to the D.I. today. Jax was in the front room too, watching cartoons, and told me he would babysit Beckham for me:). I could hear Beckham getting a little fussy when I was taking my last load out to the car, but I just figured I'd hurry and finish. I came back in the house to silence. I walked into the front room to pick Beckham up...and he was gone!!! Jax wasn't there either. I started yelling for Jaxon freaking out thinking someone came in the front door and kidnapped my kids while I was in the garage (I tend to HUGELY overreact). Jax didn't answer and so I started running through my house looking for them. I found them in my room. Apparently Jax decided that Beckham needed to get in his swing and picked him up and carried him into my room and was trying to put him in the swing. He was afraid I would get mad, which is why he wasn't answering when I was screaming to him. Jax had his hands around Beckham's waist and by some miracle had not dropped him, though the angle was really awkward. I didn't get mad at him because he was trying to help, but we had a SERIOUS talk about NEVER picking Beckham up without Mom or Dad's help.

Last week we had a swim day with the ward friends. I took a few pictures of Jax to post. He's so handsome!

Jaxonisms:

  • Last week Jax decided we should go for a drive. He told me, "Mom, you sit back in my seat with Beckham, I'll drive."
  • Later that day when I commented I was tired, he told me, "That's okay Mom. You sleep, I'll watch Beckham." He thinks he is such a big boy!
  • Today when we were driving to Target, I was trying to talk to Jax. While just sitting in his car seat he told me, "Mom, stop talking to me! I'm too busy!"

What's New At the Hadlow's

What a fun Summer this has been so far...it's just going so quick! Can you believe it's already July?! My mom is finally coming home tomorrow night. It's been almost a month and I can't wait to see her and my little sis. We have really missed them. I think my poor dad has gone insane with such a quiet house. I can't wait for her to see the changes in Beckham. Isn't it crazy how much newborns change in their first month?! She hasn't seen him since he was a week old, and he's now five weeks. I still haven't been able to capture his smile on camera, but hopefully soon. He's still being my little LOUD angel. Here is an updated pic:
Jaxon is lovin' his Summer too. We spend a ton of time outside. He is always helping Ryan in the yard. It's been great because then it gives me a little time minus a two-year-old. He can't ever stay clean either. I don't think I've seen him with a clean face or shirt all Summer. I swear as soon as he gets out of the bath he looks like this again: (red popsicle and ketchup on his face and drink down his shirt)

Jax is slowly but surely getting the #2 thing, if you know what I mean. He's been potty trained for a few weeks now, but #2 has been giving him some trouble. We told him when he went in the potty we would get him a treat, and he picked out this pirate costume. He hasn't taken it off since, and walks around the house yelling "Aargh, Matey!"

Jaxon says such random stuff all the time, always making me laugh. Not all of them are good things, but hilarious all the same. Here are some recent examples:
  • We were at Target today in the aisle and he said hi to an old (ornery) woman. She didn't say hi back. Jax then says, "Mom, did you see that? That lady mean. I say hi to her and she no say hi back. Say 'bad, bad lady'."
  • In the car the other day Jax said, "Mom, I don't eat dog poo. You eat dog poo?" I told him no and he said, "Yeah, we no eat dog poo."
  • Jax has developed a slight fibbing problem. He never admits when he does anything. He blames everything on Ryan. He even colored on his wall the other day and when I asked him if he did it he said, "No, Daddy did." That's the answer I get all the time now.
  • Every time I start singing, or even when Jax asks me to sing, he'll stop me and say (while plugging his ears), "Mom, stop it! You're hurting my ears."
  • When he doesn't want to come inside after we get out of the car he says, "Let's go out front and look at the flowers for a minute."
  • Today at my dad's office, my big brother Jarod was throwing Jax in the air and playing with him. He asked him, "Who's your favorite uncle?!" To this Jax yelled "Jace!" (Jace is my little bro on a mission). Poor Jarod. Then he said, "Who's your second favorite uncle?" Jax then said Jarod.
  • Little Bill is being banned from my house because Jax is learning to call names from this show. He has been calling people poopie baby diapers and peanut heads. I realize there are worse things he could say, but seriously, they teach that on a kid's show?! I shouldn't laugh, but it is kind of funny when he says these things:).
  • Everything we ask Jax to do, he says he's too busy. He was in my bedroom today and I went in and asked him what he was doing. He said, "Watching Word World, I'm too busy."
  • When he wants to ask why, he always says, "Why cause?"

I know there are a ton more funnies I am forgetting. I'll add them later.
