Sammy

I love how little kids can so thoroughly enjoy their food.

Sammy likes to push on his belly and say "Belly, belly, belly!"

Home Alone Part 2

Um, well, the rest of the time actually turned out pretty boring.  There was some reading of books and eating of meals, and... I'm sorry, it's all kind of a blur now!

The best part of the second half, though, happened on the last day Michael was gone: Sam woke up extra early, and I was too tired to do anything, so I brought him into bed with me.  There he rolled his little body into me (so I was spooning him) and went right back to a sort of shallow sleep with a lot of rolling over and hugging me.  It was so sweet!  It was nice because he moved enough that I was aware of the sweet little cuddles, but not so much I was frustrated at being kept awake.  Mmm... I love that snuggly Sam!

Sam loves his daddy so much he freaked out every night I put him to bed, screaming, "Dadddaddaddadadd!" and sort of gripping his hands together and pulling them apart because he was so distraught without his dad to tuck him in.  I am really grateful to have a sweet husband who helps me out a TON so I really notice when he's gone.  And I do kind of take advantage.  :)

Home alone: Part 1

It's been really hard lately to take pictures, so the kids recently stole the camera and took their own pictures.

Michael is out of town for about six days filming, so we're having an interesting time left to our own devices.  We had a sleep over in our office with everyone but Sam the first night and watched High School Musical, which they loved of course.  I fell asleep to Andrew saying, "This is the best night of my life," and woke up to him saying every couple hours or so, "I miss Daddy."  So I guess it's not an ideal trade-off but we're trying to make the most of it.

Saturday we built a fort, made Rice Crispy Treats and had a "read in" (after swimming lessons and a nap).  Then we ate corn dogs for dinner, and I taught the kids the Corn Dog Song.

Today was Sunday, so we went to church, only a tiny bit late, and were later commended by our second counselor, Brother Cannon for our efforts.  Now it's nap time, and I know I will probably sleep until the kids wake up if I lay down, so here I am posting first.

Three and a half more days.  We will survive!  It does make me appreciate Michael though.
