Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
So it has been a crazy few months for Ammonia and I! As I am sure it has been for all of you. The last week of October/first week of November I spent in Philadelphia where my sister Jenn lives. There was so much to see, so we were pretty busy, but it was a lot of fun. We saw Independence hall, B. Franklin's gravesite, The Liberty bell, drove into the countryside where mostly Amish people live, toured around the city, went to the World Series celebration parade (craziness!), and I could go on and on and on! The only downer was that the last day I was there my little white bird, Princess, died. It was so sad! I have had her and Peep for 6 years and as you all know I loved her dearly. Jenn did really well keeping me busy that last day and a half, she was very nice to me!! Peep, Ammonia, and I were pretty sad, but it has definately gotten better. I think Peep is enjoying the spotlight even though you can tell he still misses her, as we all do. November was spent coordinating a Christmas tree for the Festival of Trees this year. The nurse practitioner group I work with does a tree every other year, and after all the work that has gone into it I can see why only every other year!!! I volunteered Ammonia to help me get stuff together and come on decorating day, but as usual he was a good sport about it. The whole thing was a lot of fun but more work than I could have ever imagined. The week before Christmas my parents, Jenn, and I went on our annual ski trip. I actually skied down the hill instead of rolling down it, so that was fun. Jenn even got me to go through some powder, which for a beginner is a bit of a challenge! I thought it was two feet deep, but apparently it was significantly less than that, say 3-6 inches! Ammonia is looking forward to going on the trip next year, he will be the snowboarder of the group. Ammonia and I spent Christmas in SLC with some of my family, which was a lot of fun. It has all gone by too fast and as usual I did not get to see everyone I wanted or spend the time I wanted with those I did see. Now that the holiday season is quieting down I think it is time to get back to the wedding planning. I am now sooooo glad we decided on September, I could not have pulled it off any sooner! Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone and that I get to see all of you soon. Again Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

A decision--YEAH!
A decision has been reached! Drum roll please.... We will be getting married on Sept. 12 2009 at Rose Sachs Gardens. It is such a beautiful place with pretty much everything we wanted. Also it is close to the Salt Lake Valley, unlike most of the other places I was looking at. I think Ammonia is breathing a sigh of relief that we are done looking at reception centers. Now on to the cakes, and dresses, and flowers, but he doesn't need to know all of that now :) In the midst of the endless wedding planning, we have managed to start up a salt water aquarium. For those of you that don't know fish are to Ammonia what birds are to me. Ok, so he's not quite that attached but he does love aquariums and he does a great job managing them. The aquarium is very pretty, however, it is located on my very pretty hard wood floors so I am a bit nervous. So wish us luck keeping the water in the tank, keeping the fish alive.

No surprise, we still can't decide
I guess I should let everybody in on a little secret.... I cannot make decisions! Due to this less than charming attribute of mine, and Ammonia's flexible nature, we do not know when the wedding will be. It will likely be in May or Sept 2009. We are avoiding the summer months since the heat is not my friend. Stay tuned and when we do know the date you will be the first (after the parents) to know! Oohhh but look I have found my cake toppers :)! Ok, maybe not.

We're Engaged!
So Ammonia actually managed to surprise me with this one! He convinced me I needed to go to Antelope Island to watch the sunset and have a little picnic. He bribed me by saying I could open my birthday present early if I went! It was so pretty and calm out there that night! He gave me my birthday present (not a ring) so I was not suspecting a proposal. We decided to go for a walk down the beach during the sunset. He offered to hold my drink, said he needed to put it down for a minute, but then got on one knee. My response? "What are you doing? Get up!" What was I thinking : EEWWW I don't want my drink on the shrimpy ground, he's going to be so dirty, oooohhhh wait I get it! So then he proposed, I figured out what was happening, and I said yes. Now we get to live happily ever after, right?
