Happy Halloween!!

The day of Halloween proved to be quite interesting. I ended up having to go to the dentist for an emergency root canal. Wouldn't have been my first choice of how to spend our day, but my thoughts are first and foremost on my unborn baby. After stopping at the grocery store to get my "drugs" we hurried home to get ready to go trick-or-treating and headed over to my brother's house. We had some delicious chili and hot apple cider and headed out to get some candy! We had to strap Powell in his little stroller since all he wanted to do was run around in the street. He was pretty content to sit in there and eat some dum dums. After our fun-filled night of getting treats, we headed over to g'ma and g'pa DeHart's for a little visit. We had a good visit, but Powell was getting pretty tired and grumpy, so we headed home for bed. Pregnant-brained me forgot my camera, so as of right now, I only have pictures from g'ma and g'pa DeHart's, so enjoy our little turkey! :)

His costume really wasn't that short, but the legs rode up from us holding him and I didn't realize it soon enough to fix it. Oh well!

Pumpkin Carving

I thought Powell would enjoy pumpkin carving more than he did. What kid wouldn't love to play in icky, slimy pumpkin guts? He had fun stirring the pumpkin guts with his scoop though, and inspecting the little orange pumpkin scoops we were using. He even ate some of it! :P Here are a few pictures of our fun night of carving! :) I was manning the camera, so no beautiful shots of moi! ha!

The finished products. Lighting wasn't great, but that's OK. Matt's, mine and Powell's (which had some problems lighting).

Get In There?

As of late, Powell thinks that going into closets and closing the door is pretty fun. He always says/asks "Get in there?" and goes in and attempts closing the door. I say 'attempts' because the picture posted demonstrates how he tries to fit into our video "cupboard". Obviously the doors won't close all the way, but he sure gets them as closed as they will go. It's awefully cute.

Tagged!

Brynn Tagged me. I have to write 6 quirks about myself...

1. I have 2 different colored eyes. They have changed quite a bit since I was a baby though. It started out that one was brown and the other blue, but now one is brown and the other is my "mood" eye. It's normally just a hazel color and not too noticeable, but it tends to turn more green when I'm an angry girl. My husband likes to tease me about it, but I think I'm pretty cool. ;)

2.Even before I was ever pregnant, I've had somewhat of weird cravings. ie; I was with my mom one day at City Limits in the Rock Springs mall and ordered a bagel with strawberry cream cheese and a side of jalapenos. Sometimes you have to have a little spicey with your sweet.

3. I have this weird thing where I have to wipe my fingers off between each bite of something that I'm eating with my fingers. It annoys me, but I can't not do it.

4. I can't fall asleep, and tend to wake myself up if my nose is making any noise. I have to make sure all's clear before going to bed, and if I wake myself up, I do have to keep tissue by my bedside for that emergency. I think it has something to do with my older sister attacking me one night when we were young...;) hehe

5. I'm very anal about how my dishwasher is loaded. In my mind, the dishes just don't get as clean if they're not loaded my way. If you load it wrong, I have to reload it. My apologies go out to those who have tried to help out in my house and are now afraid to load my dishwasher. :D

6. I used to love scary movies, and now I can't stomach them. I hate jumping out of fear. It almost makes me throw up.

I tag anyone who wants to participate! :)

Hello Again!

I obviously had a bit of updating to do. Sorry to those who may check my blog regularly. Since I'm starting to feel a little bit better, I'm going to try and keep up. Do forgive me though if I lag a bit behind. I've put the previous posts in order of which they happened, so forgive my flood of updating! Happy reading!

Chatfield Corn Maze

We had another visit from my mom, and this time we (my little family, my mom, sister Jerusha and her boyfriend, Wes and his daughter, Kennedy) took a trip to Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield and took a run through their corn maze. It literally was a run. I think we made it out in record time, thanks to my husband. :) It was a beautiful day, and of course, they had a lot of good food! Well, it looked like it would've been good, but the only thing that really appealed to me was the shave ice. :) Have I mentioned that I hate "morning" sickness? They had turkey legs, hand-dipped corndogs, funnel cake, these potato curls, fresh-squeezed lemonade...these were all enjoyed by the people in our group. :) I did enjoy a nice nap upon our return home though.

Yah. We had some fun taking these pictures. Don't know why it was so amusing to us. :)

12 Weeks

We have hit the 12 week mark. Officially done with my first trimester! Everything still looks great, although this baby is proving to be a little stubborn thus far. I'm hoping this isn't a precursor to personality out of the womb...;) Still making me sick, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will be over soon. I am a little lazy, so I didn't scan the ultrasound pictures, but I did take pictures of the pictures, so I'm hoping that these turn out good enough. Enjoy our lil' bay-bay! :)

Ferrara's Happy Apple Farm

We went to this place last year with some friends of ours and this year, we thought it would be fun to go with my brother and his family while my mom was in town. It was a good time (minus the yellow jackets swarming around). We had delicious turkey legs for lunch, and after we picked out our pumpkins, Powell and I shared a scrumptious, homemade apple pie a la mode. He mostly just wanted "a bite iceceam" (and yes, he omits the 'r' in icecream). It was very cute because when we went into the bakery part of the little country store, he was very excited to get the icecream that he even asked the cashier, "pie and iceceam, pease?", doing his sign language version of "please" (which is a scratching of his chest). Melted me. We're waiting to carve our pumpkins until closer to Halloween so they don't get all rotten. Will take and post pictures of those later. :)

My mom and Caidyn on the "hayride" to go to the patch.

Powell getting shy with uncle Josh asking him if he was a boy or a girl. Something my brother asks all little kids. Haha

Cousin Cori and Powell picking out some pumpkins. Powell kept trying to pick them up and getting frustrated that he couldn't lift them.
