Card Club–Brushed

Have you ever wondered how I design for my classes?  Well, last August when we came out with a year-long Idea Book I was overwhelmed.  There were so many great paper packs, stamps, techniques, tools, and projects that I decided I needed to narrow it down.  So I decided that I would focus on one section of the book each month and design all of my classes around that section.

So starting in February we are using the Brushed paper collection and stamp sets within that section of the Annual Inspirations Idea Book.

Cards 02 - CTMH Brushed (1)

Above are the 4 card designs that we will be creating at my next Card Class.  This section of the book had so many great stamp sets that it was really hard to narrow it down.  So each card uses a different stamp set.

Cards 02 - CTMH Brushed (7)

This first one is probably my favorite.  My good friend Gina Brandstetter created this card using the Rainy Day stamp set (C1597).

Cards 02 - CTMH Brushed (8)

I had a lot of fun coloring on this one with our ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  It’s so much easier than you think.

Cards 02 - CTMH Brushed (2)

This card also uses the ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  I learned a lot from coloring this one.

Cards 02 - CTMH Brushed (3)

Start with the darkest color as a highlight on the base of the petals, then use a lighter color to color the entire petal, then use the Blender marker just on the tip of each petal, and last color the entire petal again with the lightest marker.  I can’t wait to share more about these techniques in my class.

Cards 02 - CTMH Brushed (4)

This card was created using the Celebrate Love stamp set (B1459) because one of my regular card club members requested we use this.

Cards 02 - CTMH Brushed (5)

I used the same card design featured in the Annual Inspirations Idea Book, just with Brushed paper.

Cards 02 - CTMH Brushed (6)

This last card features one of my favorite stamp sets, Your Own Kind of Wonderful (D1627), simply because I love butterflies.

You too can join me in creating these cards.  We will make 12 cards in total (3 each of the 4 designs shown above). Even if you aren’t local, I can put together a kit for you and mail it directly to you.

So who wants to join in the fun?

Card Club in January

Card Club in January – what?  I know it’s not even Thanksgiving and here I am talking about January.  I have just finished my last Card Club on 2014 and it’s time to order the product we need for our January Class.

You are actually getting a sneak peek of a product that is coming out in our new Seasonal Expressions Book that will be available December 1 – March 31.

Idea Book Seasonal Expressions

For our January Card Club we will be using the coming soon Heartstrings Cardmaking Workshop on the Go Kit!  If you are local to the Chesterfield, VA area we would love for you to join us on Thursday, January 22 from 6:30-9:30pm or Sunday, January 25 from 2-5pm for this Card Class. We will make 12 cards total (3 each of 4 designs) for only $25.

Cards - Heartstrings Kit (1)

Pictured above are 2 of the 3 designs as created by Close To My Heart.  The Heartstrings Cardmaking Workshop on the Go Kit (retail price $24.95) includes the following to create 15 cards (5 each of 3 designs) in total:

Workshops on the Go® Heartstrings Cardmaking Kit Contents:
1 – My Acrylix™ Heartstrings Workshop Stamp Set (D-size)
1 – Heartstrings B&T Duos™ Papers
4 – Cardstock Sheets (1 Pixie, 1 Glacier, 1 Whisper, 1 White Daisy)
15 – White Daisy Cards & Envelopes
1 – Pixie Extra Thick Twine (Z3035)
1 – Stuck on You Puffies (Z3037)
1 – Instructional Brochure

Here are 2 of the 3 cards designed by Close To My Heart with this Workshop on the Go Kit.

Cards - Heartstrings Kit (6)

I added the Chevron Border Punch (Z1998) to some of the cards.

Cards - Heartstrings Kit (7)

I think this card would be great for a “Happy Anniversary”.  And I love how they stamped the rose image again in a different color and added it on top.

Cards - Heartstrings Kit (8)

The “vine heart” image is just one of the 15 images that come in the coming soon Heartstrings Workshop Stamp set (available only in the Kit).

Cards - Heartstrings Kit (9)

Since you probably only need 1 card with this sentiment I stamped the others with the coming soon Mini Valentine Stamp set (M1052).

Cards - Heartstrings Kit (10)

It fit perfectly inside of the heart image.

Cards - Heartstrings Kit (11)

Since we always create 12 cards (3 each of 4 designs), I designed 2 other cards myself.

Cards - Heartstrings Kit (2)

This card uses the coming soon stamp set Happy To Be Friends (C1605).  That includes sentiments for birthday, mother’s day, wedding, anniversary, thinking of you, love you, save the date, so sorry, and more.

Cards - Heartstrings Kit (3)

Last, but not least (it’s my favorite).

Cards - Heartstrings Kit (4)

The coming soon stamp set Love Ya Silly (B1470) it so adorable and includes 3 different monsters and 4 sentiments.

Cards - Heartstrings Kit (5)

I think the best part is the mustache, which is from the Stuck on You Puffies (Z3037) that is one of the embellishments included in the kit.  They fit perfectly on this monster. Yeah!

Remember that all of those cards feature product from the coming soon Seasonal Expressions Book that will be available December 1 – March 31.

So, if you are looking for Valentine’s Day, Birthday, or even Anniversary there is sure to be something for you in this workshop and you too can make these cards.  Even if you aren’t local, I can put together a kit for you and mail it directly to you.

So who wants to join in the fun?

Card Club–Snowhaven Card Kit

Hello!  I am back to share some more artwork with you, a lot of artwork.  Today’s post is all about the Snowhaven Cardmaking Workshop On The Go Kit (G1085).

If you are local to the Chesterfield, VA area we would love for you to join us on Thursday, November 20 from 6:30-9:30pm for this Card Class. We will make 15 cards total (5 each of 3 designs) for only $25.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (1)

Pictured above are the 3 designs as created by Close To My Heart.  The Snowhaven Workshop On The Go Cardmaking Kit ($24.95) includes the following to create 15 cards in total:

Workshops on the Go® Snowhaven Cardmaking Kit Contents:
1 – My Acrylix™ Snowhaven Workshop Stamp Set (D-size)
2 – Snowhaven B&T Duos™ Papers
4 – Cardstock Sheets (1 Cranberry, 1 Glacier, 1 Whisper, 1 White Daisy)
15 – White Daisy Cards & Envelopes
1 – Red Enamel Hearts (Z2009)
1 – Silver Shimmer Trim (Z1799)
1 – Instructional Brochure

Here’s a closer look at each one.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (2)

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (3)Do you need a stamp set to caption a photo with those award-winning ugly sweaters?  Well, this is it.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (4)

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (5)

I think you could even give the above card to someone who has an early January Birthday.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (6)

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (7)

I love the trees stamped at the top of the card.  Another great stamp for making your own background.

Untitled

Above is the stamp set that comes in the Snowhaven Cardmaking Workshops on the Go Kit (G1085) $24.95. (Sorry, I know it’s not the best photo.)

So I wanted to give my customers some choices.  Some of them are really partial to Christmas Cards that state the actual words “Merry Christmas”.  So here is what I came up with.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (8)

I kept the same design of the cards I just used different stamp sets.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (11)

This sentiment comes from one of my favorite new stamp sets, Merriest Christmas (B1468).

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (12)

Ok, I know this one doesn’t say “Christmas”, but it was my last chance to use these polar bears.  How cute?  This is from Polar Bear Holiday (C1557).

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (9)

This card uses 2 stamp sets, Merriest Christmas (B1468) and Sing Glory (C1587).  Sing Glory is one of our new Hostess Only stamp sets that can be seen on page 7 of the Annual Inspirations Idea Book.  That means it is only available to Hostesses who hold a party (in person or online).  They can use their Hostess Rewards to purchase 1 of 10 stamp sets at a discount.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (10)

From the same Sing Glory (C1587) stamp set I created this card.  Love this angel and sentiment.

So now if that wasn’t enough, I took it a step further.  I have some customers that have already expressed a concern with doing 3 months of Christmas Cards (we made them in July and October as well).  Well, here are my non-Christmas creations.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (13)

These are probably some of my favorites.

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (15)

This was the perfect sentiment to accompany all of the Red Enamel Hearts (Z2009) and the stamped heart image.  This sentiment is one of our new Mini stamps, Guiding Heart (M1046).

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (14)

Everyone needs Birthday cards and on this card I used the stamp set titled Lovely Birthday (B1462).  Also, in place of where all those trees were stamped I attached a piece of white cardstock that was embossed with our Dots Embossing Folder (Z1924).

Cards - Snowhaven Kit (16)

This card actually uses an older retired stamp set, sorry!  It was available for a short time as a Stamp of the Month.  I’ve still got some if you are interested, so contact me to purchase yours for $15.

So, there has to be something for you in this workshop and you too can make these cards.  Even if you aren’t local, I can put together a kit for you and mail it directly to you.

So who wants to join in the fun?

Card Class–Yuletide Carol

Christmas Cards are here!  Be sure to make plans to join us on Thursday, October 23 from 6:30-9:30pm for my annual Christmas Card workshop. We will make 12 cards total (3 each of 4 designs) for only $25.

Cards - CTMH Yuletide Carol (1)

All of these cards feature the Yuletide Carol paper packet.  This first card is one of my favorites, but I can’t take credit for it.  I basically copied it from a picture in the new Annual Inspirations Idea Book.  They created a framed piece of art and I just turned it into a card.

Cards - CTMH Yuletide Carol (2)

I just love this stamp set, Reason for the Season D1614.  One of the best nativity sets we’ve ever had.

Cards - CTMH Yuletide Carol (3)

I used that stamp set again in Cashmere Ink to accompany the solo “O Holy Night” sentiment (A1168).

Cards - CTMH Yuletide Carol (4)

This card features the Best Christmas (D1613) stamp set.  I just love that tree.  The stamp set includes a deer also, but that would have been a little much for the card class to cut out.

Cards - CTMH Yuletide Carol (5)

Check out the star on top of the tree.  That is from the White Enamel Stars pack (Z2010).  I took the Gold Metallic Marker (Z1768) and simply colored it.  SO COOL!!!

Cards - CTMH Yuletide Carol (6)

The last of the 4 cards that we will create uses the Noel stamp set C1598 and one of our Circle Spin Cards (Z1866).

Cards - CTMH Yuletide Carol (7)

The sentiment “Happy Christmas to all” worked perfectly on the circle.  I know it doesn’t say “merry”, but the important part is that it says Christmas.

Cards - CTMH Yuletide Carol (8)

You too can make these cards.  Even if you aren’t local, I can put together a kit for you and mail it directly to you.

So who wants to join in the fun?

Blog Hop–Scaredy Cat

Welcome to another Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop!  This team is led by Kimberly Moss.  This month we are showcasing artwork using the new Scaredy Cat collection.

If you have come here from Wendy Taylor’s Blog, you are on the right path!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your away all around.  Just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one!

I chose to share 2 cards today that I have already posted to my blog, but I thought it would be great for this hop.  I wanted to use the Scaredy Cat paper collection for something other than Halloween.

Cards---CTMH-Scaredy-Cat-9_thumb1

Cards---CTMH-Scaredy-Cat-10_thumb

The dot paper with the stars was so easy for birthday and don’t you just love the Colonial White Ink on Black cardstock effect.  I used the new You Mean The World To My stamp set (B1467), which is quickly becoming a favorite sentiment stamp set for me.

Cards---CTMH-Scaredy-Cat-7_thumb1

Cards---CTMH-Scaredy-Cat-8_thumb

I love purple and silver for elegant cards.  I heat embossed the sentiment with our Silver Embossing Powder.  The stamp set used on this card is called Look To The Light (B1428) and includes scriptures from the bible that praise God – enough said.

The next blogger on the hop is Fawn Carriker.

Happy hopping and thanks for stopping by.

Card Class–Scaredy Cat

So apparently this class doesn’t get any love and barely gets posted to my blog.  Well, I’m trying my hardest to be more consistent and this is the first step.

Cards - CTMH Scaredy Cat (1) - Smaller

I have to admit that I am so excited about how these cards turned out.  I was proud of myself, if I do say so.

Each month I am going to use a different paper collection for all 3 of my classes.  I asked my club members what kind of cards they wanted to make and if they wanted to use the Scaredy Cat paper.  The biggest response that I got back was that they love the Scaredy Cat paper, but don’t send Halloween cards.  So my goal was to NOT make all 4 of these cards Halloweeny – and I think I accomplished it.

Of course I had to make some of them with our super cute new Halloween stamps.  This card uses the Trick or Treat Sweets (B1460) and Frightfully Fun (B1453) stamp sets.  They are so cute!

Cards - CTMH Scaredy Cat (5)

Last, but not least, and probably my favorite “if the broom fits, ride it”.  For some reason this stamp set, Halloween Greetings (D1605), just popped out at me in the Idea Book.  I LOVE it!!!

You too can join me in making these cards.  Even if you aren’t local, I can put together a kit for you and mail it directly to you.

So who wants to join in the fun?
