Finding my hand

With Jaime at school, Mateo gets lots of time on the floor, stretching, kicking, tummy time.  Lately he has started really staring at the play gym and reaching out to the toys.  Occasionally swatting the hanging toys. 

 

 

His delight when it swings is priceless!  The little forehead squishes up in a frown and you imagine a speech bubble that says " if I could just get control of this device I'd wack you" and as he swats the bird, the forehead crease  eases off, a smile appears and his legs go wild!

Nifty sweater

 

We received this sweater as a gift, yes sweater not jersey lol.  Its hand made and pretty nifty.  There is a zip that runs all the way along the back , making it easy to put on and comfortable to wear.  Very cute right!

    I've officially said goodbye to my afternoons of reading and taking those wonderful naps!

While the Duartes go to Florida we get to chick sit.  Now this is quite the experience, after a year and half the Jardim familia have not had any form of animal in our house to look after.  We have become quite accustomed to only attending to those that can talk...or scream in Mateo's case. So bringing these little guys into the house left us pretty unprepared and well shaken up.  Thankfully chicks are easy all they need is warmth, food water and clean quarters to sleep in.

The instructions we received, besides the usual feeding and cleaning info were that we needed to cuddle them everyday, a little.  Jaime took this part very seriously!

Fun in the snow

My mom has become good friends with my colleague's mother, Portuguese of course.  And this colleague has 2 daughters.  So while my mom visits Avo, Jaime visits the girls.

Jaime is completely in love with Bella " I love her", the eldest, and has a love hate relationship with Paige, the youngest.

 

Paige on the other hand has a love affair with Jaime.  She literally tackles him and smothers him with hugs.  Hugs so tight they lift him off the ground!  Note she has just turned 4 (almost a year younger than Jaime)

 

Extreme sledding

The Jardim ski resort has become famous, our hill is drawing in the crowds lol  After our second snow storm the kids just could not wait to hit the slope and sled!  Much fun!

Another indoor weekend and sledding

A week after Nemo we were hit with another snow storm.  This time it was just snow and no power cuts...much better!
