Austin's Favorite Hangout

Austin has found a new favorite hangout spot.

If I leave the drier door open, he will inevitably crawl in at some point. And just sit. And smile. :)

Such a funny boy. :)

The Preempted Tattle Tale

The girls have been battling each other a bit lately with tattle telling. One will do something they shouldn't have, the other will come tell me what the first one has done and then the first will get so mad that the other one tattle taled... and on and on it goes. I keep telling them to work it out between themselves, but somehow the tattle taling doesn't stop.

So today, the girls are out playing in the backyard. Suddenly Summer bursts in the house and says very matter of factly, "Mom, I said a bad word."
Me: (surprised) You did?
Summer: Yes. And Dixie is going to come tattle tale on me. That's why I'm in here.
Me: Uh, Okay.
Wow.

I AM A GRITTY GODDESS!

I ran in my first ever 5k... The Gritty Goddess! Woohoo! The run (a mud run) was September 28th... so over a week and a half ago, and I'm still feeling the effects (mostly in the form of bruises). :) I think I went into this run a little naive and unprepared. Okay... a LOT naive and unprepared. But thankfully it didn't bite me too hard in the butt. :)

{Before}
 (and yes... it has been noted that these are clearly taken from Jim's birds eye view) ;)

{The Chunky Dunkers... Before}

{...and After}

And here's some of the Gritty fun! :)

 Up and over the Cargo Net

 Note my super cute cheerleader at bottom right. I had the best fans! :)

We started as a big group, but quickly broke off into smaller groups (as some in our group were in quite awesome shape and could run run run). I was a middle group. Not too fast, not too slow. :)
These two lovely ladies mercifully hung with me... Kim Davis and new friend Pam Emmons. They were the BEST!!!!

Through the Boob Tubes...

...and into the sewer pit. Mmm. Smelled fabulous!

(Do you see how I'm trying to keep my shoes up out of the mud? Ya... it ended up being in vain.)

The "fire pits" were a bit silly. You could basically just walk right over it. Ooo... Nerve Wracking! :)

 Wall of Fame

 More mud...

And we made it!! I think it took our little trio just under an hour to complete the course.
 THANKS LADIES!!!! It was AWESOME!!

 The Chunky Dunkers!

Go Gritty Goddesses!!

And I've gotta give an extra big THANK YOU to Jim. He was so super supportive, and so cute. He was so nervous for me going into this, and came with all the munchkins and cheered me on. He was so happy to let me have my day. You ROCK Babe!! :)
And on a side note, I have FINALLY posted about Jim's Tough Mudder experience. Yes... that was a whole year ago. You can read about that HERE, but the pictures are posted below for now... I'll eventually move them to their proper place in time.) :)

Jim is One Tough Mudder! {The Pics}

It's been one year (almost exactly) since Jim ran his Tough Mudder. You can read about it HERE, but here, finally posted, are the pictures of this awesome feat! HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

See and be amazed. Yes... I'm married to that man! :)

Dack, Wendy, Jim, and Dave... the Four Musketeers

 And yes... I'm married to this man too. :) Funny boy.

Most people... even guys... needed a boost to get over these walls. Not Jim. Jump up, hop over. Done.
