Dotties Challenge 115 days to Christmas
Wow its a fab challenge this week over at Dotties World and you really must go and check out what the DT have come up with they have certainly worked some magic this week - awesome ladies! Anyway the challenge goes ;- So to the challenge - simple really, just make something Christmassy - a card, tag, decoration; as long as you include one of the downloads (it doesn't HAVE to be from the Christmas collection either as many of the other Charmed digital download images are so adaptable). Another fab challenge thanks Juliet. I now have all sorts of ideas swimming round in my head! but how to pull them together is quite another thing! Anyway I have made a card today but cant show it yet as its for someones birthday and they do check out my blog so need to keep it a surprise (no mum its not yours, just about to start yours tonight!) but once they have received it I'll post it. It is using another Dottie that I have used before though so that is good. Mind you with yet another new collection out there are still plenty I havent used yet. Have you all seen the Halloween collection yet? Its fab and yes I have got - how could I not?! Right best get on with it then. Thanks for stopping by. x

Dotties been Tagged challenge
Well this weeks challenge was set by Adele and it was her first one and a great challenge it was too. it went like this: This week I want to see a tag or tags of any shape or size. It could be tag shape toppers, gift tags, tag books....and because hubby and me have just celebrated our wedding anniversary....for an extra Dottie bonus I would love to see some hearts and flowers too!!! The DT came up with some totally amazing cards as always and I have just managed to get mine done! I used handyman George (I coloured him in on the train on the way to mums!), the papers are Raspberry Road, big boys collection, the blue and silver mats have been run through the BS using the cuttlebug embossing folder distressed stripes, the tag was cut with the BS the brad is a little one with a phillips screw head and the little hammer charm I picked up the other day and I had 6 tool charms for £1 but really sorry missed the hearts & flowers just couldnt get them to work this time. TFL Am now looking forward to tomorrows challenge!

Card for Sammi's Blog Party
Ok I've managed one card this evening and its for Sammi's blog party, she wanted a celebration card (any celebration) featuring purple and sparkle so I think I've covered all the bases. The papers are from the Artylicious Filigree Fusions cd and are shades of purple. Ive used the same design but the frame is from a smaller slightly darker piece which is then raised up on foam pads, the sparkle is from some rainbow gems on the corners of the frame, the silhouette of the lady is from a Silhouette Sensations cd and cut out by Robbie the Robo. I used a darkish blue cardstock as felt black would be too heavy with the patterned paper - wanted something slightly softer and finally added peeloff sentiment on piece of same cardstock. TFL and Sammi I hope you like it. Well done on 5000 hits!
Good Afternoon
Afternoon all, only a really quick posting as I'm actually in the middle of the dreaded hw! but thought I'd stop for 5 mins and catch my breath! Went out this morning and collected MIL's new cat from the RSPCA, gorgeous little thing, 18 months old and very friendly by the time we left MIL the cat had been sitting on Rias lap quite happily although still looking round nervously at every sound. Well best get on with it but I hope to be back later with a card or 2 as I need to do Dotties challenge this week and a card to enter Sammi's blog candy - go check it out. Bye for now.

winter scene card
Wow you guys are great, thanks very much for the positive feedback on my christmas card, you all inspired me to get the folder out and try again, so here is my latest (actually I'm quite pleased with this one!) Inked up the folder with white pigment ink and embossed on brown cardstock trimmed it down then matted on to light brown card stock which is embossed with swiss dots then matted again on the darker brown cardstock this time embossed with snowflakes using the fiskars texture plates through the BS then added a couple of gold snowflake brads. Hope you like it too. TFL

Santa Dottie
Another post from me tonight! Well just a very quick one - made this christmas card tonight while I was playing but I'm not really sure about it so I would like to know what you think. Its a cuttlebug embossing folder which I have added some chalk to over the buildings (not done anything like that before) then in the foreground I have placed Santa Dottie raised on foam pads and added a peel off sentiment. I keep looking at it and one minute I like it and the next I dont! I had lots of ideas when I bought this folder and now I'm not so sure they will work needs carefull consideration! lol TFL I'm off to bed now so will catch you all tomorrow. x
Catapult George #2
Yoohoo I'm home! Had a totally fab time and have been trying to catch up with everyones blogs so please accept my apologies if I've missed something but you have all been busy whilst I've been away! I've been given 2 awards and I'll be back later to acknowledge them properly, but just thought I'd pop on and show you a card I made yesterday for a wee lad whose birthday it was while I was away - oopps! The papers are Raspberry Road - Big Boys and I've used swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder (got while I was away plus a couple of others and a few other bits!!) on the mat and the circle sentiment which is one of Karens great pieces, and the image is catapult George. TFL and I'll be back soon I hope!

Another Dottie card
Well just managed to fit in one last card before I go away, had to do this one as we are visiting my nan while we are at my mums and she is going to be 89 this year so a Dottie card was called for. I used the birthday party dottie and the papers are Shabby Princess Sweet Serenity and I managed to use one of Karen circle sentiments too then embellised with gems from PM and the £1 shop. Dottie was coloured in using PSE5 and I also added the bunch of flowers to replace the present (the flowers are an element from the sweet serenity kit too) and gave them a drop shadow for a bit of depth. the basis of the card is from an old sketch from Papertake Weekly Sketch #1. TFL, right better finish putting music on Rias mp3 and updating my ipod ready for the journey. Takes us about 4 1/2 hours all told which isnt too bad. I'm taking several images and my colouring bits so that I should have plenty to make cards with on my return!
Juliets got blog candy!
wow Juliet has some amazing blog candy up for grabs, go check it out and leave some love!

Papertake weekly challenge Button it!
I made a card this morning for the Papertake Weekly Challenge which goes like this ... This week's challenge is to use a button or buttons on your project! If you don't have any buttons you could try drawing one freehand, making one with chipboard etc! Don't cut 'em off your cardies though lol!!!! I used a free download from Karen which are great circles of text in several different formats She has been providing us with one a day this week and the main ones are over at Dotties World and the others are on Karens blog - Go check 'em out they are fab! Anyway back to my card! I have used PM paper for the background and the 2 heart shaped buttons which I cut with my sidekick (I really must hunt around my craft room more often things keep getting forgotten!) the circle sentiment from Karen and Skipping Dottie from the Funtime Dottie collection then I added a little tag brad with a peeloff #7 coloured purple. TFL Have a great day everyone I'm off to work on the rota for work now before going to work this afternoon, what a riveting life I lead! lol x

Dotties World Challenge #14
How glad am I that I didnt get my card finished yesterday? very coz it so fits with this weeks challenge over at Dotties World This week the challenge goes like this ... all you have to do is use one of the Charmed downloads BUT (there's awlays a but isn't there!) you have to combine it with one or more challenges from other challenge blogs! I think it's great to combine challenges and I think it should be encouraged, so there you go, I'm encouraging you! Please excuse the fact that the pic is not straight! So I have used Dottie & George anniversary image from D&G in love collection from over at Charmed Cards and I have used the sketch from over at Papertake Weekly which is a great sketch by Katharina. The papers are Raspeberry Road - Mocha Love and Mothers love with brown card from the cheapy shop and a pm flower and a brad from my collection. This is for a friends anniversary next month but I couldn't find the right sentiment or the right place to put it so it will just have to be inside! TFL right I'm off to bed now coz although I didnt get up til 2 this afternoon I need some more sleep!

Oh well maybe I'll get the card finished tomorrow. Night one and all and thanks for visiting. x

First scrapbook page in ages
Well I had planned to get a lot more done in the way of crafting than I have actually acheived but I did manage to make a scrapbook page and its been a while especially for a paper one! Just had to do one of Ria as bridesmaid the papers are from a digikit (surprise surprise!) from Peppermint Creative called missmint winter sparkle1. The title was cut on my craftrobo using the cocacola II font, the little plaque thingy and photo corners were cut using my Xyron personal cutting machine (havent used that for an age either!) the little flowers in the corner are actually punched from a couple of paper petals that decorated the table at the reception. The photo lifts to reveal the following journalling (hand journalled I might add!) On the 2nd of August 2008 you were bridesmaid for Julie a friend of mums from work when she married Darren. You looked absolutely beautiful, infact I'd go as far as saying stunning. I was so proud of you. You looked so grown up and at nearly 12 years of age I caught a glimpse of the beautiful young woman you are destined to become! And so my darling hold your head high and become all that you want to become. You are truely beautiful both inside and out. I love you Mum xx Its not often that I add journalling like that I wish I did but this just flowed. TFL
Dotties World Challenge #13
Challenge #13 went like this The challenge is Aperture....Ribbon & Doodles....Ofcourse it involves using a download from Charmed Cards, then it can be one or more Apertures, one or more ribbons and hand drawn Doodles. woohoo, I done it. It has taken me ages to put this together! The most time was taken working out the heart aperture and cutting it on my craftrobo and then the outer hearts too that were placed on the top outside using foam pads for added depth and then around the aperture on the inside just to finish it off. The papers are papermania I hand doodled round the raised heart using white sakura glaze pen, struggled with the ribbon part but think it works ok, added some silver peeloffs and then inside the card used Dottie & George I Do image which I coloured using wc pencils and sakura pens then added a couple more peeloffs. This is for my cousins wedding at the end of August which we are unable to attend. Great challenge and really got my brain working even though it actually looks pretty simple! (a bit like me!) right off to get tea sorted put the hoover round then back to crafting! tfl

Ria as bridesmaid
Almost forgot to add this one! This is Ria in all her finery yesterday when she was bridesmaid for our friend, bought a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye to see her looking so grown up! She looked beautiful (I know I'm biased!lol) took my breath away. Ok now I'm going to bed before I ramble anymore. Night one and all. x
2 cards
Righty oh! Havent you all been busy, fabulous creations going on out there, but just before I turn in for the night here are a couple I have made, one of them tonight! the first is for a wedding we went to yesterday I used PSE5 to create a background of congratulations then placed the image on top to print once printed I added some glitter using sakura stardust pens, also did the same on the back. the second card was the one I had planned for the Dotties World Challenge #12 but didnt get time to do it. the space left white is so that I can added a sentiment when I know what the card is for! the cat was coloured in using wc pencils and sakura stardust pen paper is papermania. TFL
