I had planned on doing a tutorial on my youtube channel and posting it on my blog, however that didn't go as planned, because I have been dealing with being sick for over 3 weeks. I had assumed I would be better by now, but that is not the case, unfortunatly. I will say that as of Saturday morning at 4:30 in the morning I am actually feeling a little better and getting the blog together. It however is too late to do a tutorial, but I will be offering a tutorial on my youtube channel some time next week.
I ended up making a card with some floral spring colors as a background, and I kept it simple by placing my floral mat on a plain white card stock card. I then cut out 2 scallops in white card stock with my EK scallop 2" punch. With 1 of them I just inked the edges with my studio g pigment in lime green, and with the other punch I colored the edges and with the same studeo g pigment and continued inward till the entire scallop was colored with the lime green, and I traced around the edges with a crayola marker in the color pink. I then stamped in the side of the pink traced scallop with a cute little chick stamp I got from Micheals in the dollar bin. I then colored the inside of the stamp with a vareity of different markers with a fine tip.
After all was said and done I assembled the card and added a pink ribbon, stickles, flowers, and rhinestones to give it some finishing touches. I assembled my floral mat with my Ad tech dot glue runner. I will say I am very pleased with how it came out in the end, considering I had such a hard time in the beginning.
I really had a lot of fun doing this blog hop. I can't begin to tell you all how honored I feel to be a part of this blog hop and the amazing people behind it. Please be sure to check out http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org I am beyond pleased to know what OWH is all about. Being a military wife, and raised as a military daughter, I know the importance of receiving a card from a loved one who can't be close. What OWH does for military families all over the world makes me proud and humbled.
If you are interested in making cards that get sent over seas to our military members, that in turn gets sent to their family members as a way to keep them close during the holiday's and any other day. Some of the deadlines are as followed for the upcoming cards that are needed *Easter card deadline (March 18th) and Mother's Day deadline (March 31st)* Keep in mind that Father's Day cards will be needed soon as well.
