36 Million Weeks

Okay here it is Sarah. The newest belly picture. I am 36 million weeks along. (Okay it is only 36 but it kind of feels like I've been pregnant for 36 million weeks!) My tummy is HUGE! I can hardly wait to get this baby out of my ginormous tummy and into my waiting arms. According to what to expect when you're expecting, my Rachel-girl weighs about 6 pounds and is approximately 20 inches long. I swear she feels so much bigger than that! I go to the doctor this Friday to see if I am dilated or effaced or anything. I really hope that I am! I want to meet this little girl so bad! I've been trying to walk on our treadmill to hopefully get my cervix softened and ready to go!

I am so proud of my cute Jakie boy for passing his tests this last week! He is so awesome and smart! It has been so fun since his tests are done because now he doesn't have any homework and I get to spend a lot more time with him! Before he was at work all day and then he would come home and have to do a couple of hours of homework every night, but now when he gets home from work I get him all to my self all evening long! His graduation is on Thursday morning and after he graduates he gets the rest of the morning off as well as the next day! I am so excited to get to spend so much time with his this weekend! Jacob went in and talked to one of his Sergeants about maybe taking the DLPT (Defense Language Proficiency Test) in Spanish since he knows Spanish from his mission and they got it all arranged so that he will take it on November 1st and 2nd. If he passes with a high enough score they will pay him a little extra every month. Also as a bonus he can use the time when he has to be at work to study for it until he takes it. If he wasn't spending this time studying he would be doing detail work on post instead which is like pulling weeds, sweeping, or other clean up work, so this will be nice for him to get to do instead of that for a while.

It was so fun, Jacob and I went to this little produce store next to our house where they had these huge pumpkins! Jacob let me pick which ever one I wanted so of course I had to pick the biggest one I could find and here it is. It weighs just over 20 pounds. I had to hold it next to my tummy to see if it was bigger or if my tummy was bigger and I was so grateful to find out that the pumpkin is bigger! :) The little pumpkin in the picture is one we bought the night after I took my NCLEX in celebration that it was finally done. I bought it planning on making something out of it, but so far it has just been too cute, I haven't been able to cut it up to cook it.
Jacob is has just been so good to me. For most of my pregnancy I haven't been the typical emotional pregnant woman. I've just been my normal mostly happy self, but just this past week I have been more and more emotional, and my poor husband has just been so good to me! He just hugs me and wipes away my tears that seem to come for no reason and tells me he loves me and that I am beautiful. I just love this handsome boy of mine!
A couple of weeks ago Jacob and I went out and bought some things so that we would be ready for our little Rachel to come and one thing we bought was a diaper bag. My sister Julie asked me to put a picture on here, so here it is.
Isn't it so cute? Here is one of the cute pink inside. It is all packed and ready to go to the hospital! We can hardly wait for this little girl to come!
So Jacob went in today to get his papers for out processing and stuff and he doesn't have his actual orders yet but he did get his assignment notification, and it just goes to show that you can't really plan on anything with the military. All this time we have thought that we were going to be going to Nebraska, but on his assignment notification it said that we would be going to Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona. Everyone we have talked to has said we would for sure be going to Nebraska because that is where they send all of the Airborne Linguists to be trained, but apparently that is not so. It is pretty funny, I've been getting myself so excited to go to Nebraska, so that I'm almost disappointed with the news, but after thinking about it for a while I think Arizona will be a lot of fun too. The only thing is that on the paper that said we were going to be going to Arizona it had his previous start dates on it as if Jacob had to go to Texas November 1st. So Jacob has to go in and talk to them and make sure they know that we won't be in Texas until December and we aren't sure if that will mean they will change where we will be going after Texas or not. He'll go talk to them tomorrow and hopefully we will have more information soon, but for now we think we are going to Arizona.
Well this post is long enough so I better stop before it gets even longer! Kuddos to anyone who stuck it out and read the whole thing!

Awesome news!

Today we FINALLY found out when Jacob has to be in Texas. He gets to stay here a little longer and doesn't have to be in Texas until December 8! We are so overjoyed with this news! It has been a source of worry for the two of us not knowing if Jacob was going to be able to be here for the birth of our little girl, but after much prayers and fasting (the fasting was on Jacob's part. I would have if I could) Heavenly Father has pulled through again! We knew Heavenly Father would take care of us and make everything work out for the best, but we didn't know how that would happen! We are so relieved to have this later start date! I wish I could make cookies and have Jacob take them to the people that helped us make this work, but Jacob asked and unfortunately that isn't allowed. Our sincere thanks will have to be enough.

Test Results

Jacob passed his tests! All three of them! What a smart and handsome boy I married! I am so proud of him! He has worked so hard the past year and a half, and it has payed off! It was kind of exciting, everyone in his class passed all of the tests! It is so fun to think that Jacob isn't going to have any homework this weekend! He will get to come home and be home! Awesome! Now if only we knew when he had to be in Texas. We know that probably he will have to be their either on November 1st or December 8th. We are hoping and praying for the December start date, but we know everything will work out for the best either way. Jacob's Sergent said we should find out either way by tomorrow hopefully!

Mary Ann Bulloch, Registered Nurse

I did it! I passed my test! I am officially a Registered Nurse! I just found out this morning, and I couldn't be more relieved! It is so nice to have that test out of the way and to know that I passed! I'm just so happy this morning! It has been a long road getting to this point and so much has changed since I first decided to pursue my desire of becoming a nurse! When I first started with preparing by doing my pre-requisites, I didn't even know Jacob. I was just a normal college student going to Dixie, living at home, and working all hours of the night. Now here I am, in California, married to the love of my life and about to become a Mom to a cute little girl in just a few weeks! A lot has happened in just the last couple of years! When I started the nursing program I never would have imagined I would be here now!
Today I am only six weeks from my due date, 34 weeks along. According to What to Expect When You're Expecting, my baby weighs about 5 pounds and could be up to 20 inches long! I went to the doctor yesterday and he says everything is looking good. I'm still measuring two weeks bigger than I am, and Rachel has dropped and is now in the head down position. His guesstimate for how big she will be when she is born is 8 pounds (give or take a half a pound). We told him about Jacob possibly having to leave by November 1st and we asked him what our options were and he said that he really doesn't want me traveling that far away because that can be pretty risky this late in my pregnancy, but he did say he would consider inducing me just before Jacob would have to leave if everything continues to go okay. So at least we have that to hope for in case Jacob doesn't get to stay. We might be able to make it so that he can at least be here for when our Rachel is born! Hopefully we should find out before my next doctors appointment in two weeks whether or not Jacob will get to stay or not and we will be able to make some plans from there.
Well that is all of our news for now I think except Jacob's speaking test is tomorrow and his other two tests will be next Tuesday and Wednesday. I know he will do awesome, but just keep him in your prayers! It will be nice for him to have these big tests over with!

A little update on the testing. . .

Well I'm done with my test! I won't find out for a while how I did, but I really hope that I passed! It has been a long road getting to where I can take this test, and I wouldn't be able take it for another 3 months if I didn't pass at which point it would be a lot harder because then I would have a little baby to worry about too! Now I just need to find some chocolate! Maybe I will make cookies!
Anyway, speaking of our little baby, Jacob went in and talked to his Sergent today at lunchtime to see what he could find out about him staying for when our baby is born. His Sergent sent a letter to see if he could get it approved so now we have to wait to hear back about that. He found out that if it doesn't work out then he will have to be in Texas on November 1st and he would have to start class on November 3rd. I really really really hope he gets to stay here until Rachel is born! That is only one month from today that he would have to be there in Texas and we still have 6 1/2 weeks til our due date! And my house is so not ready to move in just one month! Well that is what is going on over here. Jacob takes his first final test next week and the other two the week after so hopefully we all pass our tests and we get to stay here til Rachel is born. That is what I am hoping and praying for anyway!
