Singing

Rachel cracks me up. She has always loved it when I sing and  has been singing songs for a while, but just recently she discovered a new way of singing. Dont just take my word for it though, see for yourself.
She sings to me in this high pitched little voice all day long and I love it!

I wonder if that is what I sound like to her when I sing?

Fingerpainting Fun

Jacob was able to take 10 days of paternity leave from work and we LOVED having him home! It was so fun playing and just spending the time as a family! Something I had been wanting to do with Rachel but I knew would be a big fun mess so I wanted a little help with Kent while we did it is finger painting. I knew Rachel would love it! I made an edible finger paint recipe I found on Pinterest (just in case she tried to eat it). It turned out really well and Rachel LOVED LOVED LOVED it! In fact she was looking at these pictures while I was posting this and said she wanted to do it again.

I got the idea from a friend to make a smock out of a garbage bag, and it worked perfectly!

We couldn't stay out quite as long as we would have liked, because it was way hot! Rachel didn't complain though even in her garbage bag outfit! She called it a ghost shirt. :)

Meanwhile our little man was snoozing on his daddy. I love how spread out and relaxed he was!

I was so glad I used the garbage bag instead of just stripping her down or something. As it was, she still got way dirty and we had to put her straight in the bath tub afterwards!

The finished product:

It was a super fun activity, and one that we will for sure be doing again soon!

Smiling!

My little Kent boy started smiling at about 5 weeks. He smiled before that in his sleep. It seems like almost every time he fell asleep he would start to smile when he started to dream. Quite often he laughs in his sleep as well and it is the cutest thing ever!
He has started smiling when he is awake now and I just love it, although for some reason Jacob has been getting most of his smiles when I'm busy making dinner or something. He loves his daddy and I love it! Well enough talk, see his cute smile for yourselves.

Crafty Me!

The week before Kent was born I was busily crafting and doing some things that I knew I woudn't have time fore after he came. Here is one thing I did that I thought turned out well, but I never posted a picture of it.  I made one for each of the kids rooms to hang on the wall over their beds.

Rachel loves hers! She can reach it from her bed, and she will often stand up and touch the letters and spell her name.

It is actually just fabric that ironed to Heat'n Bond and then ironed to the wall. It was a fun little thing I found the idea for on pinterest. I love pinterest!

Rachel

Just a short post on my little Rachel-girl.

All day long Rachel pretends she is a baby. She is always running off and hiding to suck on a binky (which is funny because she hasn't taken a binky since she was 3 months old).

On the other hand, she is also always taking care of her own baby and she does everything with it that she sees her mama do with baby Kent.

Two words: Barbecue Sauce.

She loves her little brother!

Rachel is constantly pushing chairs around my kitchen so that she can see what her mama is doing and help.

I feel like I need to explain the next few pictures. One day Rachel and I decided we wanted to learn about Kangaroos, so we got online and found some interesting facts and printed off a picture to color. Well, Rachel wanted to hop like a Kangaroo and carry her "joey" while she did. She tried sticking her baby between her legs, but found she couldn't hop like that, so we came up with this solution.

This last picture is sideways. We have a little statue of Jesus on one of our bookshelves which Rachel loves. She is always pointing at it and talking about it. Well apparently one day Rachel thought Jesus needed a teddy bear to hug. She also quite often opens up a book and puts it right in front of Jesus so he can read it too.

I love my funny little girl!
