Jana's Texas Trip, Days 1 & 2

It has now been almost 2 weeks since Jana left after visiting us and I still haven't posted anything about it! Yikes! Yeah, I like to procrastinate. So to those few of you left reading my blog :), here are some pics from Jana's trip.

The first day she was here we went to Hermann Park in downtown Houston and rode a pedal boat around the little lake. It was a nice cool day, kind of overcast, but we did work up a sweat pedaling the boat. It was fun to see how close we could get to the big fountain in the middle without getting too wet. The boat was covered but we'd get sprayed a little bit as we went around the fountain. We kept laughing at these little kids pedaling another boat while their mom sat in the back and relaxed. They could barely reach the pedals.
Jacob said his life jacket smelled bad. I just tried not to get my face too close to mine.

Can you see the fountain in the background? It was a lot bigger than it looks in this picture.
Check out this duck with a crazy mohawk!
and we watched this furry guy swim back and forth for a while

We also walked around the pretty Japanese garden.

Before the park, we ate at a yummy Greek restaurant called Niko Niko's. The place was packed so we ate outside even though it was raining slightly the whole time. It was Jana's first time to eat Greek food and she liked it.

Sunday we spent the day watching General Conference, which was very uplifting and inspiring, and it was nice being able to watch at home. Between sessions we took a picnic lunch and drove over to eat by the river and then walked around for a while.

Sunday night Jana and I drove down to Galveston, but I will put those pictures on a separate post.
