A couple of weekends ago, we finally made it down to the state capitol of Virginia. It had been under renovations the last time we tried to go, and it reopened last year. We took a self-guided tour; I'm sure it would have been much more interesting with a tour guide, but I don't know if they would have let us in some of the rooms we explored. We kept going up higher and higher, until we finally reached a locked door.
This statue is the closest likeness of George Washington. Here is Jacob trying to be a close likeness to George. He just needs a walking cane...and he's not 6'2".
This is near the public entrance to the capitol. You enter underground and climb your way up until suddenly you're in Jefferson's capitol.
This is Richmond's old City Hall. I think it's a pretty cool building. It's right behind the capitol.
The grounds around the capitol are beautiful......so are the people.
