A Capitol Moment

A couple of weekends ago, we finally made it down to the state capitol of Virginia. It had been under renovations the last time we tried to go, and it reopened last year. We took a self-guided tour; I'm sure it would have been much more interesting with a tour guide, but I don't know if they would have let us in some of the rooms we explored. We kept going up higher and higher, until we finally reached a locked door.
This statue is the closest likeness of George Washington. Here is Jacob trying to be a close likeness to George. He just needs a walking cane...and he's not 6'2".
This is near the public entrance to the capitol. You enter underground and climb your way up until suddenly you're in Jefferson's capitol.
This is Richmond's old City Hall. I think it's a pretty cool building. It's right behind the capitol.
The grounds around the capitol are beautiful......so are the people.
Just kidding!

A broken heart

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted anything. There hasn't been a whole lot going on with us. This is the craft we made for craft night in January for Valentine's Day. Isn't it cute? (Jacob doesn't think so)

A Reason to Smile

The other day I went to the dental school for a check-up and cleaning. While examining my teeth, Jacob said I had the cleanest mouth he's seen out of any of his patients. He said it was even healthier than when I was there last June. So that is good news. The bad news is I didn't have a cavity that could've helped Jacob out for his big board exam coming up in March. Oh well, I'm sure Jacob will find other patients with the cavities that he needs. Also, the supervising dentist that checked my mouth after Jacob had cleaned it told me I had pretty teeth. And he was practically gushing with praise about Jacob and how he thinks he's fantastic and that he'll be very successful in many ways. That was nice to hear about my husband. And I feel the same- he is fantastic!
Well, there's not a whole lot going on here. We are having great weather. The past 2 days were in the 70s and today's high is 61. So I am loving the weather right now. Sorry to all you people with mounds of snow. I guess I better enjoy it while it lasts b/c next winter I'll be missing the Virginia climate.
