Super Bowl

I'm behind again!! But here are a few pictures from Super Bowl Sunday. It was so relaxing -just the four of us - hanging out in the living room.

The Little Gym

Jackson recently started gymnastics class on Saturdays at The Little Gym. He absolutely LOVES it. We tried out a class in December, and I thought he'd be reluctant to join in (especially with Mom in the lobby area through the glass), but he jumped right in and hasn't looked back. It's so great to watch him follow direction and learn skills we couldn't do at home. And it's great physical activity when we can't be outside as much in the winter, especially with a new baby.

And I have come to love the one hour Saturday mornings to literally just sit and relax. Right now it's perfect naptime for Taylor, so she sleeps while I  watch class (and maybe sip a Starbucks and read a magazine - what a luxury!)

Here are a few pictures from their "presentation" class yesterday. The parents sat inside the gym and could take pictures and video. So proud of our boy!

I want her to stay little

Taylor has grown into quite a happy and predictable little baby....she's really good (most of the time anyway!) And this comes after her giving us a pretty rough stint there towards the beginning (weeks 5 through 9 maybe?) But now that she is almost 15 weeks and all smiles and sleeps like a champ, I want to freeze time for awhile. I know I'll be sad as she hits all these milestones and grows up way too quickly.

This is how our girl wakes up each morning - she wiggles her way to horizontal in the crib. It's the cutest thing. And I love the little sleepy face. Once she sees us, it's all smiles. And usually big brother is there to say "good morning" too :-)

I'm back!

Okay....here's to a fresh start with the 'ol blog in 2009.  18 days late, but that's okay (I know the date says January 10th, that's b/c I started writing this then....it's actually the 18th today).  Better late than never.  I do want to keep up with it much better than I have been. So, if anyone has been checking it (I have no idea if anyone really does??), I apologize for the sheer disappointment you felt each time you clicked.   Maybe sheer disappointment is an overstatement, but nonetheless, I will try to keep up.  Especially since Taylor is changing so quickly, and Jackson is at such a fun age.

There is no way I could recap the last couple months, in words or pictures.  So, I won't even try.  I'll share a few recent ones, and give a few notes about each kiddo.

JACKSON

Dinosaurs, trains.....and more dinosaurs and more trains.   Those are the two things Jackson still loves the most right now. Santa brought him a "big dinosaur with sharp teeth" as per his Christmas request. He LOVES it.  Who said you need an expensive toy - this has been a hit.  He started gymnastics this month, and absolutely LOVES IT.  And it's such a relaxing time for me - just to sit there for an hour and watch through the large windows.  Taylor's been an angel the last two weeks also, which has been nice.  Jackson's language skills increase by the day. His comprehension of the world around him, and his expression with words amazes me.  I guess this is how 3-year-olds are, but never having had one...who knew they were so smart??  He's still tall and skinny - and still wears some 2T pants (though he's sort of waiting for the flood in them...)  He's the best big brother - he is in awe of his little sister and has been since the day she was born.  He's so sweet with her.

So speaking of....

TAYLOR

Little Miss turned 3 months on Friday - I can't believe it.  She's growing so fast.  I'm trying my best to cherish every "little baby" moment, even when she spits up all over me.   That's not an exaggeration either......she is a SPITTER.  Fortunately, she doesn't seem bothered by it, so that's good.  After going through quite a little rough patch (maybe weeks 5 through 9'ish?) she is such a good baby now.  She naps well during the day and sleeps well at night.  I know...not fair...since Jackson was the same way.  She doesn't sleep through the night every night, but when she does it's for about 10 hours!  Otherwise, she wakes up once, which I'm okay with.  She is all smiles now, and I think she giggled for the first time last night.  She's also trying to roll over, and is always seems to be trying to lift herself out of her carseat or bouncy seat.  I think she's going to be an active little one.

It's taken me forever to even write as much as I did...so I'm going to upload a couple pics and get this posted.  I'll try to be better about it...I really will.

Sweet Taylor

I am so behind on blogging....but that's just how it has to be right now.  I'll get back on it one of these days.   In the meantime, I thought I'd share a sweet picture of Miss Taylor from Thanksgiving Day, at 6 weeks old.

Happy 3rd Birthday!!

Today Jackson turned 3......I can hardly believe how fast the time has passed. We had such a fun day. Jackson and I went to pick up his cake this morning, but it wasn't quite ready, so we had some nice mommy-son bonding time in the grocery store cafe over a chai latte (me) and a soy chocolate milk (him). He's so fun to hang out with at this age! On the way to the store he said, "I'm happy to be three, Mommy." Oh, and he also informed me he no longer wanted to be a train conductor when he grows up (occupation of choice yesterday), but today he wants to be a "fire truck man." Like Daddy!

Then off to his party at 11am at Peter Piper Pizza. It worked out great - 8 of his friends came, and the kids got to play, eat pizza and cake.....and no prep or clean up at the house. He had a great time.  We spent some time with family at our house afterwards and then we call crashed from 4pm - 5:45pm. All meaning....Jackson, Taylor, Mommy, Daddy and even Cody. So, yes, ALL of us.

Happy Birthday, Jackson!!

I love the things he says

I love Jackson's age right now.....he's so verbal and says the cutest things. For example, randomly in the car today he says, "Mommy....I want to be a train when I grow up. So I can go over mountains.......and on train tracks.....and on hills......"

We've also started talking about Santa Claus, and right now the one thing on his list is "a big dinosaur with the sharp teeth." I think the sharp teeth are a must. So funny!
