Pumpkin Patch

We went to Taylor for part of fall break. While we were there, we went to the pumpkin patch with a few of Wyatt and Shawn's kids, Wacey's family and Grammy.

The kids did the corn maze. They divided up into teams of boys and girls. There were several signs in the maze. They had to find each sign and punch a hole in their paper at each sign and then they won a prize. The boys were quicker but I think the girls had more fun.

The boys picked soda as their prize, the girls picked candy bars.

Emmy Lane

It had been awhile since we had gotten Emmy's pictures taken so we went and took a few pics. Here are a few of my favorites.

Emmy is a beautiful young woman inside and out. She has such a laid back personality and is so fun to be around. She has been blessed with so many talents and I love watching her grow and make her own choices about what she wants her life to become.

Rim2Rim

Emmy and I, Wyatt, Dawn, Jessi, Shawn, Lindsay, Raylee and Ryder hiked rim to rim last weekend. We went up Friday night and stayed in Tusayan at the Red Feather Lodge. We got up and were on the south rim by about 4:30. It was dark when we started and we had to use headlamps to see. The moon was almost full and there was something very cool about standing on a ridge in the dark and looking out in both directions and seeing the canyon in both directions. I was amazed at how much warmer it got as soon as we dropped below the rim. We went down the South Kaibab trail and were at Phantom Ranch by about 8. From there we headed out across the box and it got a little hotter and a little slower but we had an amazing day. The last few miles were straight up hill and it got pretty tough. Emmy's knee was driving her crazy and it was pretty slow going but she just kept pushing on. We had an amazing day.
