Flatiron

I tackled flatiron by myself. It was pretty intimidating, especially by myself, but I had been wanting to do it for so long it was starting to occupy too much of my thoughts. The superstitions are so pretty and it is an amazing hike and I even got to talk to flatiron Jim.

Regionals

Emmy made regionals so just got to go perform with students from all over. She did a fabulous job!

Valentines Concert

The orchestra does a valentines fundraiser where they have a nice catered dinner and the orchestra serenade you. I think Emmy accompanied 5 different songs on the piano besides memorizing all her music for strolling and her normal orchestra concert. She is amazing!!! It was a fun night watching her and TJ.

Key West

Friday we booked a snorkeling and kayaking excursion. We snorkeled first. I didn’t think the snorkeling was quite as good as when I went out to the reef with my parents and Wacey 20 years ago but I was a lot more comfortable with it and enjoyed it more. The kayaking was a lot of fun we kayaked around some mangrove trees and got to hold jellyfish, a sea slug and a sea cucumber. We also saw lots of jellyfish, man of wars and a couple sea turtles.

Key Western Fest

Last weekend Wacey, Wyatt and Shawn said they were going to Key West. Wacey wanted to go to a country music festival. Wyatt and Shawn were taking Tryan and Ryder so I decided to take TJ and Addy and go with them. Mom and Dad decided to go to. Thursday was kind of a long day. We flew out at 6, had a four hour flight to Ft. Lauderdale, then a four hour drive to the keys, then we went straight to the concert for about 5.5 hours. But the concert was awesome!!! We saw a few minutes of Paul Overstreet, Pam Tillis, Blackhawk, Sawyer Brown, and the Oak Ridge Boys. Paul Overstreet was so good. I was sad that we missed the first few minutes of him. Pam Tillis was fun. Blackhawk’s music was awesome and Sawyer Brown was such a fun entertainer!! We were definitely tired by the time we were done but it was a fun way to start our trip.
