Sometimes you need a hug

I appreciate so much that Evie is always looking out for me. She is a sweetheart!

Bus 255

Rook amazes me with the things he builds. This week it was the bus he rides to school.

1st Day of Real School

After over a month of virtual learning, we finally got to go back to school. We weren't excited to have to wear masks, but were definitely ready to be back in school. All of the kids had had enough of pictures when we started virtually except for Evie and Rook who let me take more.

TJ is starting junior high. He did let me take a picture of him when we went to the open house night.

Maryland

Jamie had to go back to Maryland for work for 10 days so I decided to go with him for the first few days. We flew out on Wednesday and I came back on Sunday. Jamie had to stay until the following Friday. Thursday Jamie had to work so I hung out at the hotel. Friday he worked in the morning but left me the car so I went to the American Chestnut Land Trust and went on a hike. It was a beautiful hike and it was nice to get out and try out my new camera.

After Jamie got home we drove out to North Shore. The beach was closed but we walked out on the boardwalk and enjoyed the beautiful sunset.
Saturday we got up and headed into Richmond, Virginia. We started at the Civil War Museum. It was housed in the Tredegar building where a lot of the artillery for the civil war was produced. It was a cool building and the Museum was really interesting. It was right next to the river and we had a fun day just walking along the river and eating lunch at a small pizza place. On the way back to the hotel we happened to drive by the plantation where James Madison was born. It was next to a really pretty old church. So we stopped there for a few minutes. It was too late to take a tour but we walked inside the foyer. We also stopped by George Washington's birthplace. It was also closed for the night, but we got to see the mini Washington Monument that is located near it. It was a fun day. It is always good to just hang out with Jamie.

Trace's Wedding

Trace and Courtney got married last weekend. The temple was closed so they had to get married civily. They asked Rook to walk down the aisle in front of Courtney with a sign that read "here comes your girl." He was a little nervous and shy but did a great job. The weather was perfect and it was a beautiful wedding. Trace is such a good kid. I couldn't have asked for a better oldest cousin for my kids to look up to and we wish him all the happiness in the world.

Water Kickball

While we were in Taylor, Uncle Wyatt talked the kids into playing water kickball with him. We even wrapped TJ's arm up so he could get in on the fun. Wyatt is always a lot of fun and it was a great way to cool off from the heat.
