Don't do Anything Stupid

On July 26, TJ was on the tramp with his cousins and they were seeing how high they could bounce each other. He came down on his arm and broke both bones. We spent most of the night at the ShowLow hospital trying to get them set but it wasn't enough so he ended up having to have surgery and nails put in them on July 29. It wasn't a very fun few days but he was a trooper.

He got his cast off on Aug 18. He was ready to have the cast off but did not like how weak his arm felt. He will probably have to get the nails out at some point.

Kinder Crossing Trail

We went to the cabin over the weekend. While we were there Jamie, Emmy and I decided to get up early Saturday morning and go for a hike. I didn't have anywhere in particular that I wanted to go so I just searched for hikes near Happy Jack and Kinder Crossing Trail was one of the results. It was about a 3 mile round trip hike. There was about a mile that was pretty rocky and pretty steep. It was the perfect level of difficulty and it was absolutely beautiful when we got to the bottom. The water was crystal clear.

Protesting

It has been months since they first cancelled school because of Covid. My frustration level is building with kids doing online school. It is not an effective way to learn and the kids are so tired of it. So I decided I wanted to join in the protest at the District Office. Addy and Rook joined me.

First Day of Virtual School

We were all hoping for school to start in person but it didn't happen. So we started back virtually. It was a crazy start with Cox choosing to do maintenance on the first day of school. So we had to get a hotspot on my phone and make do the best we could with 5 devices trying to log on. It was INSANE!!! But we survived. Somehow I didn't get a picture of Emmy who started 8th grade.

So at least for now, school is going to look like this. But we are at least glad to be back in school!

Hancock Family Reunion

It was my turn to put on the family reunion this year. We had it at Sherwood Forest. I was really happy with the way it turned out. We hiked Mount Baldy, had a talent show, played the Price is Right. Had a fun run and a shooting competition, broke a pinata, went to the lake, watched Annie Get Your Gun, had an awesome church where Jessi and Jenny bore their testimonies and Trace and Cody talked. It was a good weekend and we were definitely worn out by the end of the weekend.
