TJ's Temple Day
It was a beautiful day at the temple this morning. TJ went to do baptisms for the dead for the first time. It was fun to have him and Emmy both there. I'm grateful for the young man he's becoming and for his example to me.

Most Improved Player
Emmy had her year end softball party with her school team. She ended up winning the most improved player for her team. Congrats Emmy! We are so proud of you.
Leap into Literature
Settler's Point had a leap into literature night where each class displayed a book and had a little activity or craft to go along with it. As part of this night, the 5th graders had a wax museum. They had to make a poster about a famous American and then dress up like that character. They each had buttons on their desk and every time someone pushed the button they had to stand up and give a speech about their person. Addy chose Katie Ledecky. She did a great job on her poster and her speech!

Washington Monument, Capitol, Library of Congress, Spy Museum
Saturday we woke up to a little snow but didn't let that stop us. We started with a ride to the top of the Washington Monument where the views were amazing. Then we ran into the natural history museum for a few minutes before our tour of the Capitol. After we took the tour we went to the Library of Congress where we saw an original Gutenberg Bible. The Library of Congress is so pretty. Then we grabbed some lunch and then headed to the spy museum which is where TJ had been looking forward to going. We had a fund day seeing a James Bond car and learning all about spies.

Ford's Theater, FBI Building, White House
Day 1 in DC was really busy but fun. We started the day at Ford's theater, then went to the FBI Building and then to the White House. Stopped for a quick lunch and then made it to the Supreme Court building a few minutes before they closed. I think all of our favorites was the FBI Building. It was so cool to hear about real cases and things they do catch criminals. I think we all would have liked to have spent a little more time there. When we got to the White House the President's helicopter was on the lawn and there were tons of press outside. He flew off while we were in the white house.
