Lessons on Sanitation

So yesterday I was feeding Evie and I hear TJ yell from the bathroom, "Mom, I want my candy but it fell in the toilet."

Then today we had pancakes for breakfast and Addy got finished so I told her to go wash the syrup off her hands and she told me, "I can put them in my mouth to wash them."

Don't feed the animals

We had our first zoo trip of the year yesterday. Jamie got off a couple hours early and went with us. It was dinner time for the giraffes so we got to see them up close. The kids loved it.

 TJ also made a new friend.

The orangutans were having lots of fun playing. They are always one of the kids favorites.

Papago Park

Monday was Presidents Day so our babysitter didn't have school so we talked her into babysitting early and went and hiked part way up Papago. It was a little chilly but we saw a beautiful sunrise.

Valentine's Day

Our Valentine's Day was pretty low key. The kids got new books and new hot chocolate mugs with their pictures on them.

I got Jamie a new pizza pan, a Mitt Romney sign, and a new workout DVD. Nothing too exciting. Jamie got me some new software for my pictures. So I have been having fun with that.

Rice Cereal

Jamie tried Evie on rice cereal the other day. She wasn't too thrilled with it, but she is still really young.

 When all else fails, stick with what is working.

Sunday Afternoon Naps

Date Night

Last night for date night me and Jamie decided we wanted to go on a hike. We went about 2/3 of the way up Usery before it got too dark and we had to come home. We took Evie with us and she acted like she loved it. She was happy the whole way up and slept the whole way back down.

Valentine's Dance

Tonight was the town's annual daddy-daughter Valentine's dance. Emmy hates having hot curlers in her hair, so we tried straightening her hair for the first time.

And when you have a hot date, you have to have a hot car. Every time Jamie takes one of the kids out, they always want to go in the red car.

They acted like they had a lot of fun. They ate pizza, chocolate covered pretzels, and heart shaped rice krispy treats. She made a picture frame, got a corsage and they danced. After the dance, they stopped and got ice cream on the way home. Here is the picture from the dance.

Blanket Forts

When I was about 4 or 5, my Uncle Keith lived in Arkansas. One time when he came to visit, he made a fort out of blankets for me and I loved it. I think it is what has endeared him to me ever since. So last night, Jamie had to work pretty late, so I made some for the kids. We had snacks in them and read our library books.

Friday Night Dates

Emmy had a pajama birthday party Friday night so while she was at that, Jamie took TJ on a "date" and I took Addy and Evie. Jamie and TJ went to eat at IHOP and then met us at Baskin Robbins for ice cream. Me and Addy ate at Chik Fila and then met up with them. TJ was so excited and told me that me and Addy could not come with them.

Laundry

This is what I found in the washing machine the other day. I guess I am going to have to start checking T.J.'s pockets too.
