My last entry was 2007! It's already like coming to an end to 2009. Yes, if not for the incident today, I'll probably be on way to la la land by now. But no, here I am typing my thoughts so that I can let out some steam cos I can't get myself to fall asleep! Cos I'm fuming mad! I know it's stupid to lose sleep just because someone backstabbed you. Yes, I know i'm very emotional. I just can't help but think about it. The more I think about it, the more upset I get. I don't understand what's her intention to complain about things. Seriously, if you are not happy with me, just tell that straight to my face. Don't try to do some funny monkey business behind my back. TGIF Syndrome It was a crazy week and I should say, it was a crazy friday to start work at 8.30am and end work at 7 plus in the evening. My brain was not functioning properly, couldn't really understand what people were trying to say. Sorry, if i'm really blur today. Yes, we have a new friend, denise. Haha. KTV still rocks! We had a farewell dinner for the 2 Ivys who are leaving for taiwan on Tuesday, to do their overseas exchange program. They won't be in Singapore for about 4 months or even longer depending if they are going to do their FYP there. So, the girls decided to hold the farewell party @ Creations, Shaw tower. The pasta was pretty decent, all of us order the dinner set which comes with soup, main course and dessert of your choice. Lynn saw the apple crumble on the list for desserts and urged me to try that. Well, I hesistated if I should try, cos I don't want to end up disappointed. While still trying to decide whether i should try, this couple beside our table were having their desserts. The girlfriend was having the apple crumble, haha. Well, looked pretty alright but they left the table with the half eaten apple crumble. My conclusion? Must be it's quite sucky or she really can't finish it? Decided to pick the safer choice, Brownie with ice cream. Lol. After dinner, we couldn't decide where to head to. Ivy foo had to meet up her friends and left the group earlier, leaving the 5 of us wondering where to go. Took the bus to orchard, cos peishan suggested to do some midnight shopping. But sadly, we were informed that the shops were opened till 11pm, but it was about 10pm when we were making our way down. :( Ivy had this sudden craving to sing ktv, decided to check out the rates for various outlet before deciding to sing at Kbox. Too bad lynn and wen xian didn't want to join us, so leaving the 3 of us. I would say it was a pretty crazy thing to do, cos we booked the session from 1am to 6am, so that we can catch the first bus in the morning instead of paying for cab to go back at wee hours. I don't know how we managed to pull through and not falling asleep. Still dragged ourselves to look for a 24 hours MacDonalds to eat our big breakfast meal. Lol. My first time singing overnight ktv, pretty cool experience and not to mention a pretty tiring one too. Lol. Right now, I'm having this bad throat after singing for almost 4.5 hours. *croaks* I think i need more honey lemon water! *ahem* Farewell Ivy Low and Ivy Foo, see you all soon! Take care! Yes, I'm still updating my blog! Sorry for the lack of post recently. Ever since I've started work, I'll try not to use the com unless I really need to. If you are wondering if I'm still alive, yes, I am still living and kicking! Haha. I have been eating alot recently, having late night suppers with the girls, is making me worried about my health and weight. I can't remember when was the last time I actually exercised! I can feel the extra layer building up on my tummy. Not a good sign. But I can't resist the temptation of eating desserts!! :P Not only desserts, I have been drinking coffee almost everyday. I really find it hard to stay awake during work, especially after lunch. Haha, when the after-lunch-effect kicks in, you just feel like sleeping. Talking abt sleepy, which I'm feeling right now. Goodbye After knocking off early on Friday, so I thought maybe I could make a trip down to ikea since there is a 105 bus from my workplace. Strangely, I ended at orchard, shopped aimlessly. Looking at clothes, but I had absolute no desire of buying anything so I went home with 3 boxes of redcurrent puff and 1 box of triple chocolate cereals from Marks & Spencer. I bumped into my ex-colleague while I was making my way to the MRT, she couldn't recognise me cos I tied my hair. She was on her way to meet some of her friends for some buffet dinner at some hotel, which is 20+ per head. I mean it's certainly a very reasonable price for a buffet dinner at a hotel. Told her that I received my first wedding invitation from my boss, after started working for 5 days!! My goodness!!!! I barely know them!! Sigh~ I guess I don't have much of a choice but to attend. Afterwhich, I went home and boarded the same bus as my dad. My mom was kinda surprised that we came home together, she asked why switched my mobile off. I explained that my phone battery went flat, so I went on to ask her what happened. Mom: "Gan ma (my brother's godmother) passed away." Me: "HUH?!!? when?!!?! I just saw her during grandma's funeral!!" Life is so unpredictable, she came to pay her last respect to my grandmother 2 years ago. She looked fine, although I know that she had breast cancer a few years back. And now, she's gone. She was my mom's best friend and passed away on my mom's birthday. Sigh. I still remember when I was a kid, she would bring lots of things to visit my family. Bags of stuff. I mean, for a tai tai like her, she should be busy showing off her wealth to her fellow tai tai friends at her regular mahjong games or enjoying her afternoon tea. Sometimes, I wonder what she sees in us. We are just a middle class family. But I guess, money can't buy friendship and I think we are very grateful to have a friend like her. I remember that I went to her place when I was around 10, ran around her big house, she even coaxed me to let her cut my hair cos I had split ends. I had really long hair then, I just refuse to cut my hair. Cos I took quite a long time to grow that long. Yeah, she had a way with kids, i must say. Just came back from her funeral wake, I saw her lying lifelessly in the coffin and she looked so hagged. She must have put up a fierce fight with this strange brain virus, which took her life in just 4 months time. Sigh. Life is short, you never know when your journey ends.
