Time to get organized....................

Hi there,

I am back with my final DT project for Ali-Craft. Using the scrumptious Prima Stationers Desk Papers.

Once again I am using this pack.

Stationer's Desk- Collection Kits
Prima Stationers Desk Collection Pack.

I have a horrible habit of writing peoples address's down and then losing them, So I decided to create an address book.

Here it is..............................................

Front Cover.

I took a MDF book with tabbed pages, that I have had in my room for ages, covered the front and back covers with the papers and added to the front a Punched border. Then using some scraps of paper, I made a rose using a Sizzix flower die.

Using a plastic template I added a couple of swirls of Diamantes and then added some of the small flowers, that I had shaped them to give some dimension.

Close up of flower and swirl.

Then I decorated each tabbed page with Tim Holtz stamps, Distress Inks and the small stamps that match the collection.

Inside of Address Book.

First Tabbed Page.
I used the adhesive letters from the collection pack to give each Tab a alphabet section ready for the address to be safely written into.

I hope you enjoyed my final project for Ali-Craft Design Team this month.

More Prima goodness..............

Hi there,

I am back with my third project for Ali-Craft DT.

Continuing with the theme of items you may use on a day to day basis, I have made a book mark and a Altered giant peg, which you can use to hold a special Photograph or a note for some one.

So here they are.............................

The giant peg, was given a good coating of Gesso, before I added a layer of Espresso Paint dabber. I left it to dry then trimmed some of the Prima paper to fit the front and back, gave them a good edging with Antique Linen Distress Ink and stamped a  few of the small Butterflies in Potting Soil Archival ink.

The other side, using a different pattern.

The Bookmark started life as a giant paper clip and a huge bottle cap!

I gave the bottle cap a coat of Paint Dabber in Espresso left to dry, then cut a circle from some scraps to fit on the inside and edged once again in Antique Linen DI. Molded a butterfly with some Air dry clay; once dry painted and gilded with Treasure Gold (Sorry I had to get use some in my projects lol). Adhered the Butterfly to the centre of the bottle cap. Then using a strong glue (Bostik) I then attached the Bottle Cap to the Paper Clip.

Close up of the Butterfly........

I hope you have enjoyed my project this week, Don't forget to pop back next Monday for my final piece.

Happy Crafting.

Let's alter it......................................

Hi there,

I am back with the second project for Ali-Craft DT, using the delicious papers by Prima.

Stationer's Desk- Collection Kits
Prima Stationers Desk.
I decided to make some stationary items, things that people may use on a day to day basis. So my first piece is an altered Chipboard Panel, you can buy these from Ali-Craft you may need to call them, as I am not sure they are on the website.

So here it is.............................

Note Pad holder.

I took the Chipboard Panel and gave it a coat of Espresso Paint Dabber (it's about the only one of mine that has not dried up!)

I then drew around the panel on a sheet of the Prima Paper, then trimmed it so I would get a border around the panel. I coloured the edges of the paper with Antique Linen Distress ink and then stamped a few of the Butterflies using Potting Soil Archival Ink.

I had a rummage through my stash and found a Bulldog clip, I took it apart and coated it with some Glue and Seal by Ranger, then painted the handle with some Espresso Paint Dabber, whilst that was drying I Covered the barrel of the clip with some scraps of Prima paper ( waste not want not). once it was all dry I re-assembled the clip.

Altered Bulldog Clip.

I adhered the paper to the panel making sure there was a even border, I then pierced a hole near the top, aligned the hole on the Bulldog clip over it and attached it with a fancy Brad.

I choose a sticker from the sticker sheet and placed it near the bottom and added some of the smaller Prima blooms that match the collection, to give it a bit more dimension.

Flowers from the Prima Collection.

Well I hope you all enjoyed this weeks project.

Happy Crafting.

The art of Prima.....................................

Hi there,

Well I have been absent for a while, my apologies, I have been a bit busy working on a few things, mainly ideas for future workshops and my Design Team projects.

Any way It is my turn to show you all, what I have created for Ali-Craft design Team for April.

I was given the beautiful 12 x 12 kit from Prima called "Stationers Desk".
It is stunning, a palette of Browns, Beige's and Reds, my favourite colours ahhhhhhhhhh. I was also given the mini stamp set and some small paper flowers both of which are from the same collection.

All of these products will be available from Ali-Craft stand at Alexandra Palace this coming weekend.

So here it is

Stationer's Desk- Collection Kits
Available here

It is full of Papers, Note card's and stickers including Alpha's.

So here is my first project to show you. I decided that I would make a card, using the gorgeous 12 x 12 papers and some Dies.

Stationers Desk by Prima.

I cut two large shaped pieces of card to create my card, scored one at 1" from the top edge to create the hinge and glued them together.

Then using the next size die I cut a layer from the Prima Stationers desk and then edged it using DI ink in Antique linen. Randomly stamped over with the Butterfly in Potting Soil Archival Ink, then adhered to the card using Foam pads to give a bit of dimension.

I proceeded to cut some spiral flowers from the card stock and rolled them to create roses and added a diamante in the centre.

Whilst they were drying, I cut a swirl from some scraps of the Prima papers, then cut a few narrow strips, made them into flag shapes. I stamped a verse from Paper Artsy ELB05 and heat embossed it using Wow powders and then distressed the edges.

I checked my rolled Roses were dry and went onto assemble my card, I adhered the die cut swirl  first then added the flags to underneath the stamped panel and attached it to the card once again using foam pads for dimension. Then I added the roses, using wet glue and left to dry.

Well I hope you have enjoyed my first project using the Prima stationers desk collection, please come back next week, where I will have another project to show you.

MDF Man Butterfly gets..............................................

Altered..................................................

Hi there,

Just a quick post from me today, as I am busy getting filings done and packing for the Make it show at Five!

At Manchester I was given a set of Butterflies from the MDF man, love his products.

So I decided to have a play with the smallest one from the set and turn it into a brooch I can wear at the show this coming weekend.

Here she is

I covered the Butterfly in Mod Podge and adhered some Bo Bunny paper then left it to dry, I then took a stamp by Indigo Blue (crackle) and stamped it in places with Corn Flower blue Archival ink.

Then I brushed the same colour ink around the edges and stamped using a splatter stamp by Tim Holtz around the edges using Potting Soil Archival ink. Stamped my verse in Potting soil and heat set.

Using Rock Candy Clear Crackle by Ranger I applied a good coating and left it to crackle, giving it a blast with my heat gun to finish it off. Added some Silver Treasure Gold around the edges and buffed to a shine.

Love the texture

I then added a brooch pin to the back using a bit of a glue stick and a heat gun ( couldn't find my glue gun ooppss)

Beautiful Botanical...................

Hi there,

Well I picked up a pad by Craftwork cards called "Botanica" from The Artistic Stamper in Faversham recently. It is out of stock at the moment, but you can get a kit from Ali-craft!

It is beautiful, lovely colours and some of the pages are foiled as well, giving it an added dimension, so for a couple of days it sat in the hut, waiting for me to use it on a project, finally inspiration hit me and I created this.

Sorry for the shadow, perils of light at night!

The base is a chipboard Tag, from Ali-Craft, now I have not been able to find them on the website, but I am sure if you give Ali a call, she will be able to send some out to you.

I covered the tag with Gesso, two good coats covered it nicely, then I painted the front of the tag with Claret Fresco paint by Paper artsy, let dry then applied a scraping of the crackle medium, also by Paper Artsy. Then I painted over the top a coat of Fresco in Nougat and waited for the magic to begin! a good blast with my heat gun, ensured the paint was completely dry before I went onto the next stage.

I took a verse stamp from Paper Artsy ELB05 set and stamped in versamark, then heat embossed using Wow embossing powder in Pepper.

Then I adhered a sheet of the Botanica paper, to the bottom half of the tag and trimmed to fit, smoothing off the edges with a sanding block. Once I was sure it was nice and dry, I inked around the edges with Aged Mahogany and Walnut Stain.

View of the edges.

I then took a mask, and applied Antique Linen Distress ink to the patterned paper.

Masked area.

Then I stamped using a speckle stamp by Tim Holtz all around the edges in Aged Mahogany and Walnut Stain. Using some lace from my local haberdashers, I created a ruffle band and then adhered a strip of Pearl trim to cover the raw edge.

Ruffled Lace and Pearl Trim

As a final couple of touches I added Treasure Gold around the edges and a UTEE heart made with Pale Pink UTEE and then covered in Treasure Gold and buffed till nice and shiny in places, where it did not wear off! as I was polishing it.

Distressed Heart...........

Thank you for popping by, I hope you enjoyed today's project

Prima and lace........................

Hi there,

I have a beautiful card to show you today, that uses some free Prima papers that came with a crafty magazine and some lace that I picked up at my local haberdashers.

I also used the stunning new Molds by KatySue Designs and PaperArtsy Fresco Paints and Glazes and of course my favourite product by far Treasure Gold, love this stuff!

I love how this turned out xx

The verse is a new one by Paperartsy, available from Ali-craft and it is set number ELB05. I heat embossed it using WOW powder in Silver, The main card is cut using Spellbinders Grand Squares as is the top layer.

The patterned paper is from a pad that came free with a Magazine recently and it also had a set of Clear stamps. The ribbon is Faux Silk, it was really wide but I cut in in half before using my Becca Feeken Bow maker to create the bow underneath the Cameo.

The Cameo has been Painted with Ice Blue paint  and the top piece of the Cameo has been glazed with Pearl Glaze.

Love this mold

View of the Lace

Above is a close up of the Lace that I added to the side of the card to give some Texture and Dimension, I placed a strip of Sookwang tape and ruffled the lace as I adhered it to the tape.

Beautiful Verse......
Well that is me finished now, I hope you enjoyed this card.
