Surprise...it's a GIRL!!!!

I know, I can't believe it either! Apparently I am not psychic because I was convinced I was having a boy. We're so excited though! I was actually kinda hoping for a girl because Rylee has so many boy cousins around her age and no girls, so I thought this could maybe help even the playing field (a little anyway...). I was so shocked though when the ultrasound lady told us it was a girl, I kept waiting for her to go, "wait...never mind, it's a boy." But it never came and she sounded pretty definite. When we had the ultrasound for Rylee she was only mostly sure it was a girl, but this one she went "Yup, it's a girl!" I guess I'll have to rethink my career as a psychic... Anyway, we're so excited to welcome another baby girl into our home!!!! Here's some pics of her ultrasound pics, I don't have a scaner so this is the best I could do for you all....
The first is of her little foot (to the right and center) the next picture is of her leg (top left/center, her toes are pointing down) Then the last picture is of her profile, isn't she a cutie? :)

A Very Merry Christmas!

We had a really fun and laid back Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve over at my parents house and stuffed ourselves silly with lots of yummy food. Then we went and looked at lights and then came back and played Catch Phrase. Rylee was too funny the whole night too, I think it was probably because of all the sugary apple cider grandma gave her... Anyway, she really had a fun time and she entertained everybody as well. (by the way, those red spots on her face are hives. She broke out all over her body on Sunday with them. Her doctor said they were from a cold virus. She had started to get a runny nose on Saturday and he said that sometimes when kids get colds, their bodies will attack it differently and instead of going the normal route like runny nose, high temp, cough etc it went the histamine way and so she broke out in hives...poor girl. So while it looks like she has leprosy, it's just hives and not as bad as it looks) Anyway, back to Christmas Eve, it sure was nice having my whole family together again for it. My little brother, Ryan, got home off his mission in April, so it's his first back home in a while. Here's a not-all-too-great pic of us on Christmas Eve. And this picture at first might look like my brothers were just being overly affectionate with each other, a better look will show you that they are both giving each other huge wedgies. They were rolling around wrestling and Rylee thought it was the funniest thing. She was making us laugh so hard because she was doing this fake laugh were she was holding her belly and doubling over. She's such a crack up! So here are my Mom, Dad and Ryan dancing with Rylee on Christmas. She thought it was pretty great, probably because she was, once again, the center of attention and had all these people around her being crazy. She always loves that...
Here's Rylee with her favorite Christmas present, her cheapo baby stroller (of course). She totally loves it though! As you can see, she wouldn't even let me fix her hair before she had to stroller her baby doll around.
So anyway, Christmas was so great! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas as well!

Boy or Girl?

We have an ultrasound set up for December 27th. Hopefully we'll get to find out if our baby is a he or a she. What do you think it is though? Cast your vote to the right. And don't worry, you have a 50/50 chance of being right!

Ups and too many downs

Let's start on Tuesday. I get Rylee up and dressed and ready to go get her picture taken with Santa. She's in a rotten mood and is not cooperating. I figure I'll try anyway. So we get to the mall, wait in line, finally get to Santa and what happens? Rylee refuses to get even close to Santa. No pictures. Fine, whatever... We're at the mall though so of course I have to look around. By the time I leave Rylee is VERY ready for a nap. So I change her diaper before I put her in her carseat because I know she'll fall asleep on the way home, but I didn't put her tights back on because I didn't want to fight with her. We're in the car for like 2 minutes and she's asleep. We get home and she's in her cute little Christmas skirt, but I don't want to wake her up to change her clothes, even though she only has her skirt on and nothing over her diaper because I had taken her tights off. Anyway, we were having a Christmas party with our friends that night at our house and I knew that I should have 2-3 hours to clean while Rylee is sleeping so I start to clean. Then, like 30 minutes later I hear Rylee in her room and I think "NO WAY!" So I leave her in there figuring maybe she'll go back to sleep. Then 20-30 more minutes go by and she's still fussing in there, but then she really starts to get mad so I finally give in and go get her. I open her door only to be greeted by the wafting scent of poo. I look in there and she had taken her diaper off and gotten poo on her pretty little Christmas skirt, her shirt, her hands, her hair, her legs, her crib, her sheets and even flung some over the side. I kinda start to gag because my reflex is already sensitive thanks to Baby #2 (which at this time I'm wondering why I wanted another...just kidding). Rylee goes straight into the bathtub while I try to clean up the nasty mess. Well, I get it clean and I get her clean. She's still so tired and needs to sleep but I realize that we're out of milk and she has to have some to go to sleep when she's in a mood like this. So I put her in the car with her hair still a little wet and no socks on and take her to the gas station that's like 2 minutes away. I get her home, get her milk, put her in bed and she finally really goes to sleep. It's like 3:00 already and we're supposed to meet our friends at Dion's Pizza at 5 and then people are coming over at 6:00. I haven't cleaned, gone grocery shopping or prepared the snacks. I get things mostly cleaned up, wake Garrick up (he worked the night before) and told him I was going to the grocery store and to listen for Rylee. I call our friend Rebecca on the way and tell her that we probably won't make it to Dion's and to tell everyone sorry, but we'll see them at the house later. Anyway, I finally get everything done and our friends come over and we have a really fun Christmas party. I love Christmas and I love parties so they're such a great combo. Here's a picture that I stole from Rebecca of us playing White Elephant Gift Exchange (thanks Reba!).
The party turned out really great! We had fun hanging out, talking, eating and exchanging fun, random, and inappropriate gifts. Haha, gotta love white elephant right? :) By the time everyone leaves I'm tired and so I figure I'll clean up tomorrow. So Wednesday comes and Aubrey comes over so we can go walking like we do in the morning (most of the time). We end up hanging out for a while and so cleaning gets delayed a little longer. Oh well. It's like 10 or so and Garrick decides that he'll go collect the honey from the bees. Yes, there are bee hives here. So he gets all suited up...how hot is he???
Anyway, he's out in the corner of the yard smoking the bees to get them off the honey. When he comes back he says that he thinks there's a pipe broken back there because there was a lot of water. He goes back to check and says that he think one of the caps was busted and so he needed to turn off the water. He figures that it's not too big of job so he doesn't get to it right away. So like 3:30 rolls around and I'm leaving to go see "Enchanted" with my mom and sister. (Such a cute movie, by the way. I totally suggest going and seeing it). I get home from the movie only to hear that the damage to the pipes was way worse and more extensive than he thought and we still didn't have water and wouldn't until the next day. WHAT??? Having no water is really sucky...I don't think I would have faired well before indoor plumbing. So it's Thursday and I still don't have water so I stink because I haven't had a shower and there's still dirty dishes from the party because I haven't had any water to clean them with. YUCK!! Garrick fixes what he can for now so we can at least have water. Okay, it's hard to explain the pipe situation without showing you a pic first, so here you go.Basically what happened is this whole PVC pipe thingy that controls and distributes water to the whole yard was not deep enough or covered so it froze and that whole thing to the left of Garrick is cracked and a big mess. Garrick just ended up cutting the PVC pipe that brought the water to that whole mess and capping it. We have water, YIPEE, but now that whole little thingy needs to be rebuilt. Hmm...any volunteers??? So anyway, this has been a ridiculously long blog entry, but I just thought all the stuff that happened the last couple days was too funny to not share with you all. So I hope our misfortunes can make you laugh a little! :)

Let it snow! (but just a little...)

Last week we got some snow that actually stuck for a little while. We woke up in the morning and there was like 1/2-1 inch of snow. So I quickly got Rylee dressed to let her go check it out. Rylee and Dad made a tiny snowman and she thought that was pretty fun. She, however, did not like making a snow angel....

I've been tagged a couple times now so I figure it's time to suck it up and get it over with... here ya go!!!

Five things I was doing 10 years ago:

1. Entering the scary world of high school
2. Playing soccer
3. Thinking that I wouldn't have let Jack Dawson go...(Titanic)
4. Knew the dance to the Macarena
5. Singing the song "mmmbop"

Five things on my "to do list" today:

1. Get to church early (which we did...thank you very much!)
2. Get Rylee to make it through Sacrament meeting (which we didn't do...so close though, any suggestions on what to do with a wild 20 month old?)
3. Clean up the kitchen (i'm gettin' to it)
4. Get Rylee to bed early (didn't happen...she was having too much fun having a dance party with her Uncle Zach)
5. Get to bed at a decent hour (we'll see, Garrick is working tonight and for some reason I procrastinate going to bed when he's gone until I pass out and the lights are all still on and then I wake up at like 2 or 3 and turn them off...maybe it's because I'm subconsciously afraid of the dark in this huge house when Garrick's gone, maybe I should see a shrink...)

Five things I would do if I were a billionaire:

1. Travel
2. Buy a sweet house
3. Have my own personal jet so I could travel easier and more conveniently
4. Buy my family stuff
5. Give back

Five things I will never wear again:

1. A size 0
2. Neon clothes...man the 80's were awesome
3. My new kids on the block t-shirts
4. Any bathing suit that doesn't cover my stretch marks
5. A diaper...at least I hope not!!!

Five of my favorite toys:

1. Rylee
2. anything that makes Rylee laugh
3. The computer
4. My Xterra
5. Camera

Five people I tag: Anybody who wants to play! And Camille, you're tagged sucka!!!! haha

The Real Mission Impossible

This afternoon I had my Dad come over so that we could get a Christmas family picture. I'm starting to stress about getting the cards made and sent and all that. Anyway, apparently Rylee hates pictures because it seems like anytime I make an effort to get a nice picture, she decides that there is no way she'll cooperate. Fun huh? Wanna see some of the great pics we got, I think they're Christmas card worthy....or far from it? Maybe I'll just draw a picture of our family...

Garrick and I have been married for almost 5 years now and basically the extent of our vacations have been to either Arizona, Rocky Point or the Cabin. Which are fun and great of course, but we haven't been on a vacation vacation. And what I mean by the double vacation is one that you don't have to cook or clean on and you basically just get spoiled. Well I'm gettin' spoiled....we're going on a cruise and I can't wait! Could I beee more excited?! (that was the Chandler way of saying it for all you Friends fans). We're going the end of January on a Caribbean cruise with our "ports of call" as Jamaica, Cayman Islands and the Bahamas. I feel so spoiled cuz that just sounds like places that rich people get to play at... Anyway, sorry to be obnoxious but I'm just feeling really excited right now because we just got our room assignments. Check it out, here's a stock photo of what our room looks like... It's a balcony suit...oh yeah!
Here's the downer part though, Rylee's not coming with us. Which really isn't a downer, cuz I don't even know what the point would be of going if she was with us, but the downer is that I'm already feeling depressed and anxious and guilty about leaving my little girl! Seriously, just thinking about it makes me physically sick. I know she'll be fine though, she'll be with Grandma and Grandpa Haymore. I just hope she still likes me when I come back!
