Red Carpet Studio - Anything Goes Sweets Challenge

This weeks challenge at Red Carpet Studio is inspired by the movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".

Our Challenge to you is to create ANY  project that has to do with sweets. You're not limited to either a card or a layout this week! You can make anything that features a sweet, or could be used to hold sweets, etc.

I went ahead and made this treat box:
It was pretty easy to make. I took a Ghirardelli chocolate box that Santa brought me and covered it in Recollections Bright and Jolly paper. I added some stickers I found in my stash and used the bows on twist ties that came with the box.

We really hope you will join us this week for our ANYTHING GOES sweets challenge. If you're the lucky winner you will receive a TOTAL BLOG MAKEOVER!!!!

Pause Dream Enjoy - Anything Goes

Happy Friday! Don't you just love Fridays?
Today is the start of a brand new challenge at
Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges!

Ch#52:  ANYTHING GOES
Create any type of project!!

Starts: Friday, December 28th, 12:00 am EST
Ends: Thursday, January 3rd, Noon EST
Winner (chosen by random.org) Announced: Thursday, January 3rd late afternoon

For my project I created some last minute (literally) envelopes to put school pictures of my kids in for the grandparents and uncles to get for Christmas. Since this project was so last minute all I did was use my Cozy Christmas Lawn Fawn stamps and some embossing powder and twine.

I used red glitter embossing powder on two of the cards and I'm not impressed with it. I had a VERY hard time telling when it had melted and it still brushes off.

Celebrate The Occasion - Christmas Anything Goes

Can you believe there's only a week until Christmas! Well this week at Celebrate The Occasion we're getting into the holiday spirit and challenging you to make ANY project you want with a Christmas theme. So take this opportunity to make a last minute card, create a scrapbook layout or decorate a gift.

I made a layout featuring a 2008 extended family Christmas celebration. All of those little girls are my second cousins. Well, one of them is my niece and another is my daughter but you get the idea.

I used the Winterland collection from Fancy Pants along with Stampin' Up twine and kraft pieces from the dollar bin at Michael's.

Red Carpet Studio - Christmas Layout Challenge

This week at Red Carpet Studio
we're taking our inspiration from the movie
"The Santa Clause" starring Tim Allen

Challenge:
Create A Christmas Layout

My layout documents an outfit that Grandma M sent my daughter for her first Christmas. It says, "Silent Night? you'll be lucky!" What makes this so great is that my daughter slept through the night for the first time on Christmas Eve at Grandma K's house.

I used the Bo Bunny Blitzen collection to make my layout.

Pause Dream Enjoy - Snow Challenge

This week at PDE we're asking you to create a project that features snow! For this challenge I got back to creating layouts. I don't have the photos developed for this one yet but I'm happy with my end result regardless!

For this layout I used the Echo Park Winter Park collection.

Celebrate The Occasion - Christmas With A Punch

This week at CTO we're asking you to create a Christmas themed project and use a punch. I made a card using a Martha Stewart punch around the page.
To make the tree I pleated three lengths of 2" wide paper; 9", 7" and 5". I used a needle and thread to hold the paper together.

North Pole Breakfast 2012

Today I'm going to share with you my family's second annual North Pole Breakfast. This was a big year for our breakfast because, not only did I keep up with a tradition, but our Elf on the Shelf made his grand debut.
I planned our party for the day after Thanksgiving.
Each of my kids had a festive place setting complete with fill-in-the-blank letters to Santa and special gifts. The gifts this year included a book; a coloring book, crayon and sticker set; paint with water; socks and a rubber duck (one was Santa the other a reindeer). We also received family gifts of a new Christmas movie (Prep and Landing) and Christmas Book (Oh, What a Christmas).
I made another Magic Mailbox this year. Inside was a letter from Santa reminding the kids to be good and asking them to fill out their wish lists.
The letter also talked abut the special kisses we all received. The large candy cane kisses were from Mr. and Mrs. Claus. We then had eight brown kisses (chocolate chips) from the reindeer, one red kiss from Rudolph and three green kisses from the elves.
To eat we had Reindeer Hash (hash browns, eggs, ham and cheese in the crock pot),
Snowballs,
Santa Belly Parfaits (vanilla yogurt, strawberries, granola and sprinkles),
and Candy Cane Milk (if you leave a candy cane in milk they start to dissolve and turn the milk pink).
I also set up a hot chocolate bar. My kids had a blast with this.
To add some festive detail I made this banner. I wanted it to say "Believe" but I didn't have enough "E's"! So "Wonder" it is!!

I hope you enjoyed this look at my families North Pole Breakfast 2012!
