Pumpkin Patch - Picture Overload!

laughing :)

everything is a ball...

this is it, the perfect one!

15 Months Old!

Our little guy is 15 months old already. It's hard to believe. He
went to the doctor today for his well visit and the only thing we need to work on is his speech. He hasn't said any new words since his 12 month appointment. He has time, but that is the only concern. He has jumped up in the world though size wise. His stats are very impressive considering how long he was under 10% in height and weight.

  • 31 inches long, 55th%
  • 23.2 pounds, 42nd%
  • head circumference is also in the 55th %
actually his 1 year old picture, but we did it at 14 months, oops

I can do chalk too...

see?

cheese

If Hannah can help...

so can I!

Pee-Yew - he will hold his nose if we say that, and if you are close enough to him, he will hold your nose too

the comparison

He is a pretty cool kid, when he's not teething. He is a slow teether too. He has most of all 4 molars, 4 teeth up top and 3 almost 4 on the bottom. He likes to use his teeth as well. He usually only bites toes and if your socks are on and your toes are showing, watch out!

He is finally walking (see previous post) and continues to get into everything. He has a devious grin and nothing is safe around him. He takes baby proofing to a whole new meaning. He loves to make you laugh and he LOVES his big sister. He gives Mommy great hugs (not too many other people have gotten them yet though) and likes to give air kisses. He is only saying a few a few words still, Mama, Dada, and Dog-Dog, but he will do the signs for "all done", "please", and "water". He understands other signs, but doesn't do them back voluntarily. He LOVES shoes and will sit completely still for his socks and shoes to be put on (now clothes and diapers are another story).

new (ish) walker

So, I am a little late getting this posted. Hayden has been taking steps (2-3 max) since about 12.5 months. Finally, finally, finally right at 14 months he walked enough for others to be able to tell (still not far). Then about 2 weeks ago, he woke up on a Tuesday morning and just decided he was going to do it. He walked everywhere he went that day and hasn't stopped. Occasionally he still does his "mogli from the Jungle Book" crawl outside. He is much more confident now and getting quite fast. I knew he would be happier when he could walk around outside, and he certainly is!

It's hard to get the action shots, so here are a few that are kind of action.

First Soccer Game

Hannah is playing soccer this fall. She LOVES it. She has good ball control, just needs to go faster. She loves to kick it, but doesn't get much power behind it yet. I was nervous how she would do with a male coach (she still isn't big on men in general), but she even loves Coach Clay. She really loves her assistant coach though, ME! Nobody was volunteering so after a few emails and the first solo practice I finally volunteered. Fortunately Mimi has kept Hayden during practices so far. This week will be our first practice with him there. Hopefully he will be content in the stroller watching one of his favorite things, balls! Hannah saw some older girls (teenager or close to it) practicing last night and asked if she could be one of them one day. As of right now, she is a soccer girl! (and I am much better suited to being a soccer mom. The dance mom thing was NOT me)

Her first game was Sunday and she had quite the cheering section. Four Grandparents and Uncle Jeff joined me, Daddy and Hayden at the field. She ran around and kicked the ball when it was a goal kick, but wasn't overly aggressive to take the ball from the Hornets. I think we will see a big difference in the last game of the season, compared to this first game. She was much more aggressive toward the ball in practice yesterday, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for this Sunday. At least she's not picking flowers and dancing on the field! Her first game was against her church friend. Lauren. It sounds like there is going to be lots of familiar faces this season as well :)

Labor Day Weekend

This is old news, and out of order, but I didn't want to skip it. There are too many cute pictures that I know Aunt Jess will enjoy, even if nobody else does :)

We went to the mountains for our annual Miller weekend and "the mountain house". We had a 4 week old last year and decided not to make the trip, so we were all ready to go this year! Hayden and Hannah and I went up in July to spend a few days with Jess (and Nana) while she was living there for the summer, so Hannah knew all about the house and was excited to be there with her daddy. She had been in previous years, but didn't remember those trips. This year was fun with three grandkids in the mix, but we sure did miss Jessica! Hayden was on steroids from croup so he wasn't his normal easy going-laid back self,  but we all managed to have a good time and get a little sleep. Fortunately our little family was camping out in the RV so he only really disturbed us at night and the Nana and Grandaddy early in the mornings.

eating graham crackers, about the only thing he would eat the whole weekend, the stinker...

On Sunday we went to Deep Creek and tubed. Hannah and Amelia joined us this year. Hannah had a blast and wanted to go down a second time. After lunch, some of us did just that. She wasn't as energetic hiking up the mountain the second time (thankfully Grandaddy was half pulling her) but she enjoyed her second trip down just as much as the first trip.

loving the inchworm!

Aunt Llora took some picture on our second trip down.

Uncle Trip

Grandaddy with Hayden and Amelia following us down the creek, while on land. At one point, both little ones were sleeping. Hayden slept in the backback in a terrible position, but it worked for him!

The trip wouldn't be complete without some kid pictures on the old porch swing.

It was a great weekend!

they all smiled!

I love how Hayden always looks at Hannah like this when I take pictures of the two of them together.

1st day of 4K

I can't wait to hear how her first day went! She was so excited to go this morning and was even more excited when she learned the little girl she shares a bookbag hook with is a new friend named Maddie. Several girls were coming in as Hayden and I left and I am predicting one of them to become her new school BFF. We will see if my predictions come true, haha. She gave me a huge hug and kiss and went to play and Hayden and I slipped out. I hope she didn't see the tears in my eyes! I did much better last year...but this year it seems much more real and next year she will be in Kindergarten all day. They really do grow up too fast!

Game Day. Go Cocks!

The video does not depict how well he can walk holding on. He does a good job holding on to a grown-ups hands, or the wall, or whatever. Hannah is not quite as steady for him :)  One day, our little guy will actually walk alone...
