Aventures in Chi-Town

SEARS TOWER ADVENTURE

Alex while waiting to to go to the top of the Sears Tower and comparing his height to the great Michael Jordan...Yes, we know it is renamed the Willis Tower, but who really cares anyway?

Alex looking out over Lake Michigan!

Julia checking out Chicago south of the Loop!

Mommy and Alex (with Julia checking out the sunset in the background...she has no fear) standing on the Skydeck! It is not a great picture, but honestly, I was scared to death and told Daddy to take the picture as quick as possible. I was upset when I realized that he didn't even make sure that the picture made it clear that we were even standing on the Skydeck! :)
Now this is the art of picture taking...At least you can all tell that they were standing on the Skydeck!

Julia taking a look down at the street...Wacker Dr.?? We had a hard time getting the kids of the Skydeck...I wanted them off immediately. I swear I felt it move when the wind blew!

BROOKFIELD ZOO ADVENTURE

Alex and Julia checking out the dolphins!

More dolphin watching!

Alex comparing his height to a baby dolphin and a mama dolphin!

Silliness!

The Kangaroo Pouch picture experience...Too bad Julia was sleeping!

We needed pictures of Julia and giraffes...We hope that she will also have the same Kindergarten teacher as Alex and we know that there will be a giraffe project involved. She could not participate...Just plain too tuckered. We tried our best...there are some giraffes in the background. It should make for a good laugh in Kindergarten!

Alex on the snake!!

Julia on the Praying Mantis! We thought that it was an odd choice, but after seeing about a million of them this year in our yard, it seemed like the perfect choice for Julia!

A $5000 BET...PAY UP UNCLE MATT!

Spooky Lunch...OOOOHHHHHH

We had our 4th Annual Spooky Lunch this year!! It has grown in popularity so much that we decided to move it to the local park in order to guarantee that we would have enough seating and a place for the kiddies to play! Of course, it was cold and windy...prompting many requests to celebrate Halloween in September next year...but, the kids had a great time and only the adults seem to mind the weather!

We were so busy to kick off the event, I forgot to take pictures of the food before we all started digging in! Oh, well...You'll still catch the drift! It was a good time as always...It is was again fun to see all the fun, creative, and 'spooky' ideas all the mommies come up with for the kids to enjoy!

Nothing Like Waiting Until the Last Second...

Daddy forgot to tell Mommy about the Pumpkin Decorating Contest at Cub Scouts...She received the email reminder the night before, so the next day, after school, we got to work! At 4:45 PM, less than two hours from the start of Cub Scouts, we started on Alex's pumpkin. Alex chose a spider design and helped clean out the gunk, as well as carve it. I suggested adding some spiders to the pumpkin (Lucky for Alex, we had a plethora of spider rings laying around!), which he wasn't sure of at first. But when I remembered the extra fake spider webbing we had in the basement, he was all on board!! Alex even added some fake cockroaches for added effect. All in all, he didn't do too bad! He won second prize out of about 50 entries at his school's Pack Meeting! Way to go, Alex!
