Weekend GetAway trip to Batam

End the Nov and there goes the Dec... time flies. Day after day, everything was ok,  nothing special or extra ordinary happened : ) Just a short update on my weekend get away.

1st time to Batam, hmm realized I have done a lot of things which I don't have a chance to do it previously : p Good Sign ya! : D

Saw a good deal in Swoop adv, and quickly grab the opportunity. Selling at S$88/per (min 4pax) SPA 2/1 night package at Nongsa Point Marina, Batam. Good buy I supposed : D But the 1st impression was....where is this place...eerr.. I only got some good recommendation for Turi Beach Resort, Harris Resort and never heard of Nongsa Point Marina. Anyway, since it's cheap I just go ahead and get it. How worst can it be for just a 1 night stay : p

We departed to Harbourfront Terminal at 7.30am, and the queue at the Terminal was already so so long. Didn't kn that so many local interested to go Batam, especially young couples. Kinda surprised to me : )

We almost late for Boarding, coz by the long 1hr queuing. Hungry and thirsty, luckily got the gals to pack Mac bkf...almost faint.. coffee pls...
The happy 3

Happy with the Agent we booked the tour, basically everything was well arranged. We have a driver pick us up at Batam Terminal, sent us to SPA center, followed by sending us to Resort after few hrs of shopping : ) Well planned.

Nice 2hrs massage + scrub at SPA central, which was belongs to a club house located 5-10mins walk from the big Kepri Mall. We love the massage it was good, and the scrub.. wow that's the best I ever had. We felt so clean, soft and radiant : D

Lunch lunch, it's free! It's incl. in the package. Local delights, yum yum.. I like spicy Indo cuisine.

Alfresco dining

Free refreshment. Left to right: Milo shake; Apple juice; lime juice;  mango juice

I have a liking for Indo cuisine, my all time fave ayam penyet

Food Tasting : p
Fried rice w Seafood; Ayam Penyet; Mix veg rice

The lady boss was kind to walk us to Kepri Mall. Wow.. it's a big Mall...but....not too many shops open yet. It's still quite new. Nothing much for me to buy, not really a gd shopper. But I did manage to get some Cocoa powder hahaa What! Yes, only Cocoa powder I need, and bought a few packs kekeke..

And Coffee ofcoz : ) J.Co was kinda popular in Batam, big mug of Latte with a free donut only cost us S$3. Eat and pack, pack and eat....

Spread of cakes inside Carrefour, staff busy putting the chocolate topping. We don't see that in SNG  Carrefour

Can found this Dutch all time fave, Hagelslag. My  bosses will be delighted if they see this : D
It was wow.. wow. when we reached the Resort. I love yacht, and marina. The staff were friendly and helpful. Take care of our Ferry time for the next day check out and answer to all our queries. The rooms was at the hill top, they also have rooms for single or 2 pax (seaview) It's a big house, with spacious living room, kitchen, twin bedroom at ground floor and master room upstairs. Nice and cosy.
Spacious living room

Pool side BBQ dinner

Spiral Stairs everywhere

Love yachts, part of my dream : p

Relaxing....gezellig
1st thing to do, jump in the pool ofcoz : D took a swim and relax by the pool. Not a big pool, but it's ok for a dip. The Resort BBQ dinner by the pool side, but we decided to go for Seafood instead. Asked around locals, and also did some researched before came to Batam. The recommended Seafood restaurant is Rezeki, which is 15mins drive from the Resort. We took the Resort transport cost S$15/car to/fro restaurant.

Windy and rainy night, the Restn was not overly crowded. We saw lots of ppl ordered Crab, guess that's their speciallity. We not a big fan of Crabs, gave it a missed : ) We had butter prawns, deep fried calamri, ginger chicken and steam fish. The fish was really good, fresh and not over cooked. Total damaged S$50. Reasonable price I would say, it's the quality of food that counts.

Back to Resort, with a Margarita before we turned in : ) zzzzz....

Took the bkf at Resort cafe, it was so packed this time. Where were all these ppl last night? How come suddenly there's so many ppl queuing for food : ( Bkf was normal, not special to rave about. We will go Nagoya Hill after bkf, more shopping : )

This is a rather old Mall, at least it smell old... : p We only have 3hrs to spend before departure time. Nothing much for me again... : ( I'm really not a shopping person, confirmed and stamped. Lunch at Food Street, saw a few local restn and decided to try them out, bad choice we shld have go for A&W instead =/

Long long wait for the food to be served, in fact we have to order and re-order a few times with the waitress. She seems to understand/ don't understand/ not fully understand what we want. Despite we pointed on the menu, and spoke some Bahasa... alamak still she got it all messed up.

Anyway, we cancelled the balance order at the end. We only got 2 main dish out of 4 +2 side dish. And drinks took 30mins to be served....cannot accommodate further. Went back to Resort to con't our lunch instead, food was better and the price was "good'' too.
Food at Nagoya Mall.  Fried rice kampong style and chicken satay.

Redang rice and Mee Goreng at Resort Cafe

Just 1hrs before we leave the Resort, we found a path to Turi Beach Resort. Amazing : D Short walk along the beach to Turi. The Resort was big, with lots of guests, company/private event, team building going on. But I still prefer the quiet side of Nongsa Point Marina. If you are a person that prefer relax and quiet place for reading just like me : ) then I think Nongsa Point Marina worth considering. Ofcoz, Turi has a better seasport activities and newer rooms.
Seasports activities at Turi Beach Resort

Shuttle bus was arranged from Resort to Nongsapura Terminal, 15mins drive from Resort to Terminal. All included in package and well taken care of by Resort.

Relaxing October

What's up in Oct?

Not an exciting month as compared to Sept, but still is a fruitful month. : )

Started with movie session in beginning of month, almost whole family went to watch Johnny English together. Funny movie, I laughed throughout the show. Followed by mum's birthday celebration cum karaoke session : ) Real fun to have this kinda bonding.

Drinking session with nice kaki at Red Dot Brewery House Dempsey, and a chilled out session with Colleagues at Harris esplanade after work. Cool...

Watched Sevilla/Madrid/Sevilla by Ballet Nacinal de Espaiia with Babe. Flamenco dance - Colorful costumes, beautiful steps, awesome performance.

Relaxing coffee time at Starbucks, not the best coffee but nice to feel relax even in S'pore : p Catch another movie - The Sorcerer and white snake. One of my fave Chinese fairy tales, beautiful pictures with a sad ending tho. Still worth watching ;)
Coming up next in my agenda, attending Nic graduation ceremony and probably another movie to kill my time : D Trying to clear my annual leaves and fill up the next few months calendar with activities :p

Somehow has realized that life can be so relax and slow pace too. Enjoying every moment of my life : )

White Water Rafting cum food exploring trip in Penang - Day 2

We had a good sleep on way back to Penang from Kulim, dead beat! Had a nice dinner at local hawker, good food and drinks. Followed by a massage at Penang Rd. This is no joke, the massage was good, but too much for me to take. We did a step massage, the massue were men. Imagine man stepping on me....I almost suffocated and worst I was aching all over the 2nd day ; ( The rest in the team love it, they had 2 session altogether (45+45mins).

We did a city tour in Penang the next day. Visited the rich & famous home of Cheong  Fatt Tze (Blue Mansion), at GeorgeTown. The mansion is also a boutique Heritage Hotel, can even hold a wedding event, wow....I will consider : ) if only I found the right one. : D (fat hope)

Followed by Peranakan Mansion, also at GeorgeTown. The famous Peranakan mansion was one of the shooting spot for [Little Nonya] big & beautiful Mansion. A place you should not be missed when visiting Penang. An admission fee of RM10, worth it. Expected to see big crowd/ tour group posing and taking pics everywhere.

Beside all the sight visit, ofcoz FOOD was one of the most important to venture out in Penang. We went from places to places to try out different food, like Char Kway Teow, prawn noodles, Penang Laksa, Loh Bak, Nasi Lemak, Nasi Kandar, Indian Rojak....the taxi driver that fetch us around was shocked to see how much we would eat. : D

White Water Rafting cum food exploring trip in Penang - Day 1

The journey to Kulim was basically Kompong view. We met up with the rest of the team at Butterworth bus station and proceed further.

Arrived at the Rafting spot, I got a shocked...this place was run down. Very Kompong.. dirty and messy. We were in a forest anyway. (what do I expect? 5star setup?). We were brief for 5-10mins on what to expect & what we will encountered. I was kinda worried then, no confidence with the Operator. The guide reassured us that they have the best Skipper. Award winning river for rafting, and Skipper had won a few Awards. Ok, I tried to convince myself to believe what he said, in my mind...pray hard : p

We were told to do a water confident test. Jumping off from a 1m high rock into the river, and drifted along the river until the rescuer throw us the rope. It's was fun, and I have no doubt in jumping into the river. Just Do it! : p

Another brief and training session for 5mins before we raft off. The river was fast, we just have to keep to the Skipper command. "Move! paddle front! paddle back! stop! Boom!" Shouting and commanding from Skipper. We were in & out of the raft, fast and need lot of coordination & team spirit : D  and the least coordination from team will get hit by the paddle : D and bang on each other shoulders, hit on the nose..etc.minor injuries happens : ) but still safe.

We were stuck in between rocks a few times, due to the low water level. And this river is in fact very rocky. Thanks to the experience Skipper who do most of the job.

The most exciting part, ofcoz was me being thrown out of the raft : D The only guy in our team were being thrown out too. The raft hit the rock, and went 45deg up, poor us sitting on the left side, dropped into the river in split second. The accident happened so fast that I couldn't really recall what had happened. I knew my finger was entangle on the rope & I let it go to release the pain, then the next moment I was under the raft.

Luckily was been trained to dives, so I'm still able to stay calm under water. I have to push the raft on top of me away, and surface. The Skipper was in a panic too, he thot he has lost me : D I only surface after 30sec, that was taking too long according to him. Anyway thanks Lord I'm safe and alive : D

Next we had a tubing after the rafting, that's simple. Just sit yourself on the tube and flows down the river. The only tortured was the butt against the rocks. We heard a lot of laughter, and Ouch..ouch.. follows. : D it's not too fun when we got stuck on some rocks or hit on the rock, I don't wanna tried this again. But the rafting was definitely a craving activities. Would want to do it again, maybe next year ; )

White Water Rafting cum food exploring trip in Penang

The last in the list for Sept has come to an end : ) White Water rafting at Kulim and a food exploring trip in Penang. Tired but exciting and extraordinary trip : p

This is my 1st tried on Water Rafting, a bit scared and worried initially. After this trip, I fall in love with water rafting, it is an additive activity. I'm craving for more :D

Was thinking whether I shld blog for Cambodia trip or Penang trip. And I decided to go for Penang 1st since it's so fresh and exciting.

The trip was planned in June (as I recalled), organized by an adventurous lady. She was my 'babe' frienz. She managed to get a group of 10 ppl for this trip. So here how the adventures started ......

We booked flight from SIN-PEN-SIN via Airasia. Some of them traveled via coach to Penang, but due to our pampering comfort zone..err hem we preferred to fly than bus around : p It only took us 1 1/2hrs to reach Penang instead of 10hrs on the coach... I had enough of that.

The organizer suggested that we all stay in Hostel instead of Hotel to keep the cost low (Budget group) and ofcoz to keep the land transfer easy for everyone, it's definitely better to stay at the same place. It's not too bad after all in this hostel with the basic facilities, chic, clean and new.

Ryokan Hostel in Penang:

We stayed in a 4bedroom at RM40/bed/nite, female dorm (however we sneaked in a man, haha) Very basic, with aircon. Shared bathroom and wifi lounge. FYI,  there's no free blanket and towel. We have to pay a rental fee of RM3 for blanket and RM2 for towel.

The only disappointment, the receptions were super blurred... 1st they forgotten to pick us up from Airport, 2nd they only booked us for 1 nite instead of 2 nite. pissed... I was damn tired and sleepy to argue with them upon check in at 2am. : ( That not all, upon checked out we were told to show the payment receipt to get our deposit back. And we were not aware of any receipt beside the online confirmation, some of them thrown away the receipt. Ok ok.., some argument and reasoning went on for awhile... hew... finally we got back the deposit. So, friends make sure you double confirmed the rooms/taxi and also keep the receipt all time to avoid unhappiness.

We were too tired to argue further that night, so managed to get a bed and all jumped into individual bed and zzzzz....to dream land. We have to wake up at 6am for breakfast and ready for the transfer to Kulim at 7am.

More updates and pic soon.. stay tune.. and enjoyed the Penang pic at the meantime : D

My Accomplishment for Sept

Had accomplished my 2 items in the list for this month, 1st the trip to Cambodia then the D&D. Looking forward to the next trip to Kulim. Guess it gonna be filled with lot a fun too ; )

The recent trip to Cambodia, has bring along some good memories and some thinking. My mind has calmed down a lot and looking at things in a different perspective. Asking myself what have I been doing and what I have achieved for the past years. Now have learned to cherish myself more and enjoyed more. A very relaxing trip I would say.

I'm lucky to have a good companion I suppose that helps too : ) It was definitely an impromptu trip. During one of our discussion something just pop out of my mind and suddenly we decided to go Cambodia together. And at that very moment we booked the flight and confirmed the trip, in less than a day.. amazing  :D

We have common topic, in work, dance, social, etc. almost everything. Something that we shared doing together with ; ) oops... don't misunderstand me, we are just simply very good girlfriends :D

I have come to understand that life is not just about who love who more, or who don't love who anymore :) There's more things in it. Being single is not the end of the world. At least I get to go to places I wanted to go, I go to the movie I enjoy and I eat the food I like, I have more time for myself and family.

And now my latest interest is to make myself healthier, prettier and happier : D
I laugh out loud, I dance as much as I like, I play as much as I can : ) Enjoying my life to the fullest. Life has become more meaningful now,  I love the way it is and will keep it this way.

Cherish

Life is full of unpredictable things. Today you seem happy and healthy, tomorrow you might be in sick bed or upset or even dead.

If it wasn't due to Vertigo and drug allergy, I might not have realized a lot of things in life. Though I always cherish what I have but I never really appreciate each and every moment. I have learn to live my life as i have died before. I appreciate the kinship more than before. I love my loved ones more than before.

Same goes to relationships. You never know what will happened next. Will you beloved cheat on you or betray you? Or even lost feeling in the relationships? It's sad really very sad. sigh...

人生无常, 今日不知明日事。珍惜,珍惜。

4yrs coming.... but we just ended the relationship. He say lost feeling, and felt that I'm more like his best friend than lover. He says he tried but was hopeless. hahaha isn't that a joke?

Tried? tried what? Trying to avoid me? Trying to walk away from me every time I come close? Trying to show me his angry or impatience face? Trying to lie to me? So many trying..yes you tried but in a wrong way.

If you really tried, this will not be the outcome. If you tried you will have feel me, you will feel my love and you will not walk away. If you tried we have more years to count and celebrate, if only you have tried.

You say give us time to evaluate the relationship. Sorry, I do not need to evaluate coz I know I love you truly, I want and cherish this relationship. It's you yourself need to evaluate. Yes, evaluate how you treat your loved ones, how you make them feel. The problem is truly you yourself. Time,  I can give, 1 day, 1 week, 1 year or even longer no problem but I do not guarantee I will still be around/available by then.

Nobody is perfect and I have love an imperfect person perfectly. What else can I do, I should be the one feeling hopeless. I have done whatever I could and I have pray whatever I can. Sigh..

You say can't give me happiness. I do not know what is your definition of happiness. To me it's simple, Happiness is someone that love and dote me till the end of day.

I do not see what will happened in future, but I know I will cherish every moment with that person who knows my heart and appreciate my doing.

My Special day

Tomorrow will be a special day for me. It's not going to happened every year, that's why it make it so special tomorrow.

I called it 4 in 1 : ) Why?
Not sure how many ppl know abt this, every 19 years your lunar birthday will fall on the same day as your actually birthday. So this year will be my 2nd ''lunar+western'' birthday on same day. Well, to be exact.. ya 19+19= 38. Yes, I'm 38 this yr :D

And 22nd April is also an earth day. Many ppl mistook it's as sometime in early April but no, the actually Earth day is 22nd April. : )

To add on to this special occasion, it's a GOOD FRIDAY! yeah, so it's 4 in 1 isn't it? haha maybe I over react, but to me it's really special. Just like some ppl whose BD falls on CNY or X'mas, I believe they will have the same special feeling like me : p

How am I going to celebrate?
I don't know, really. I wanna feel happy and no disappointment. So I did not set any expectation or planning or celebration at all. No expectation = no disappointment, No disappointment = Happy.
I gonna have an open mind and open heart. Simple, just feel happy from this moment onwards and guess that's the best Birthday gift I have for myself. : )

Love is Patient,
Love is Kind,
Love bears; Believes; Hopes; Endures All Things.
Love never fails.

The Beautiful Castle

A lonely day to the beautiful castle... since Dar has to work and he has been there before so I have to travel there alone. Wanted to book a day trip, but after some thot I decided to go on my own. With great help from Dar, he sourced out the journey for me.. so touched.
1st I have to take a subway to Hauptbahnhof station, then transfer to a train to Bahhof station then from there transfer another train to Fussen station, after that take a bus to the ticket centre. Total timing abt 2hrs to Fussen.

Woke up early to catch the 10am train. While I was waiting at the train station, a China lady approached me. She invited me to join her & another 2 tourist to the Castle, as there's a special group fare for train tickets. I hesitated for a while, I was worry then..hmm we heard alot abt these ppl so I actually rejected. Anyway I already bot the return ticket so I just have to  reject her. After some thot, I suggested that we sit together in the train instead, since we are all going the same way and we chit chat along the way.. haha not so boring mah.

During the journey the 4 of us start sharing abt our trips in Europe. I was surprised and admiring how 1 of this lady fr Beijing actually travel to Europe all alone, this was her 1st overseas trip and her English was really basic. Yet she's so brave, I really admired her courage. Is nice to meet them, and we did some silly things together too. Haha just in a day, in fact within a few hrs we seem to enjoy the company. We even exchanged our contact at the end of Journey and hope to stay in touch with them when I'm back.
Beautiful scenery on the way. After 2hrs ride, we reached Fussen. We still have to catch the bus to the foot of hill & get the entry ticket. This time I agreed to join them as group to get a special fare.

We bot the tickets and decided to walk up the hill instead of taking the horse carriage. The queue was long for the carriage and the horses.....omg they smells...
The old Castle, Hohenschwangau is just walking distance from the ticket centre. Ofcoz you have to pay for the entrance as well.
Is good that we walked up at least we get to see more nice scenery : )

Castle just right in-front of us, hurry up! It's a nice walk, weather was good not too cold.
Do you think these two girls look alike? I tot they were the same person hahha.. all pink pink so sweet ; )

Yeah we reached, let's take pic 1st!
The two ladies + 1 man I met on the Journey, Ms Ma & Ms Liu from Beijing and Xiao Bei from Taiwan.
The compound of the Castle and some nice scenery over looked the Mary's bridge. We will be walking to Mary's bridge later.

Photo taking is not allowed in the castle so I can only take the entance & exit ; p
The Disney like castle was stunning, and the beautiful story behind King Ludwig II. To me he's a dreamer, a beautiful dreamer. The love & passions he has for this Castle, is sad & a waste that he died young without completing the entire Castle.

After exiting the Castle we headed to Mary's Bridge. Oh no it's closed due to snow : ( but we din give up. So what we did? OMG... this was the 1st time I did this kinda notorious act... The two ladies suggested to climb in. Not much time for me to hestiate so I joined them.. it's crazy but it's fun and definitely worth the effort. The breath taking scenery and stunning view of the entire Castle, how can we missed that!

We reached the MarienBrucke (Mary's Bridge) yeah! The road was quite slippery tho. The snow was melting and some area were quite steep too. No wonder they have to closed, to avoid injury. The wind was blowing strongly, I can feel the bridge swiving a little. Quite scary too... I was there only for few mins and ran back after I snapped a few pic. But later we saw more & more ppl coming our way too hahhaa... must be like us, the rules breaker.

Dinner at foot of hill, a nice & cosy restaurant near ticket center. Here I have sausages again.. hahaha I simply love them & the sour potatoes salad. My frenz had the grilled fish, not bad too. The price was average, well shld consider inexpensive at a popular tourist area.

Here are some useful information, if you are going to travel on your own to the Castle:

1. Take a subway/ S-Bahn to Hauptbahnhof Station.
You can purchase a return ticket from the station.

2. Take a Train from Hauptbahnhof to Bahhof station, timing:
- 09:51, Platform 27 (alight at Bahhof, then transfer train at platform to Fussen)
or
- 10:51, Platform 27-36 (direct Hauptbahnhof to Fussen station)

Total 2hrs Journey.

3. When arrives at Fussen station, walked to the bus stop behind the station.
Take bus no.73 or 78 to Castle- Ticket center.

4. Get the ticket for group is cheaper (if travel alone, try to find some friends along the way to get group fare) Ticket can be reserves at website, but charges applied. You can choose to visit 1 castle or 2 castle.

5. Then walk up the hill, abt 30mins to Neuschwanstein or 20mins to Hohenschwangau Castle.

Or you can take a bus or horse carriage up to the hill too. But both have long queue. Would recommend you to walk up, it will be faster than waiting to get on the bus or carriage. And have a nice view along the way.

6. After visiting the castle, remember to walk to the Marien Brucke (Mary's Bridge). It's abt 15mins walk from Neuschwanstein Castle.

7. The last train back to Munich is abt 7pm, so make sure you have sufficient time to catch the last bus to the station.

8. There a small town at Fussen Station, you can consider walk/shop around before catching a last train.
