Had been so tight with my schedule these 2 weeks. Came back from Genting with work piling up. Claims to do, calendars & diaries to deliver, paperwork & blah blah blah ... Talking about work, realised I had done quite a few claims this year. It isn't anything good cos it means someone had been hospitalised, down with accident, illness or even death ...
Felt abit down with a recent claim cos it's a stroke claim for close friend's mum. Seeing an "all-the-while-healthy" person suddenly laying in the hospital with difficulties in movements & daily activities left me thinking about how fragile life is.
But I must say I really salute my friend for her strong & positive character. Guess it hadn't been easy for her all these while; having to work & going to hospital daily & coping with all the big & small issues arising from her mum's condition & not forgetting the hospital bills as well. Surgery, room & board, tests, medicines & etc ... came to quite a substantial amount. The lucky thing was she had brought some hospitalisation & illnesses insurance for her mum some years back. Perhaps this is also the moment which makes me feel proud of my profession. :)
Being old & sick is inevitable in life but having to cope with the financial strain during difficult times is something we can avoid. It sets me wondering if it happens to any of my parents, where on earth I'm going to get the sum of $ for the bills ... With that, think I better go back & review their hospitalisation & illnesses coverage. :p
