Let's start over!

After abandoning my blog for 2 months, I have decided to revive it! How exciting... :)

Hm, what's there to say? London has been an amazing experience for me. Living in a hall with my own room is the best ever. For once in my life I have the privacy of my own room, and yet when I step out my door, there are friends just down the corridor. And thank God for technology, whenever I miss SG, home is just a FREE call away via skype.

And living alone, the independence is even better than what I expected. Here there's nobody to chase you to do this and that, every little thing you take care of it on your own - keeping your room tidy, laundry, paying various fees, taking note of how much you spend, And so far, I really like it.

Church is good too, thank God for helping me find a good church, one that I really enjoy going to, with nice people, that's strong in the Word and most of all, where I can feel the presence of God strongly.

And before I know it, 2 months have flown by and in less than a month, I'll be back home in sunny/rainy Singapore for a month. Mm, char kway teow and sambal stingray here I come!

How do I summarise the last 2 months into a single post? It's been exciting.. lets see... I've been to Greenwich where the prime meridian is - pretty cool, and lots of fun! The view from the top of the hill is amazing. I've been for a halloween boat party, and it was funny seeing everyone dressed up! I've seen a couple of musicals - hairspray and wicked, both of which were fantastic! The standard in Singapore just can't compare, and amazingly, I had super good seats and very cheap prices for both :) And what else? I have been to Edinburgh, Scotland! My first time traveling with London friends, and it was great! The place was great, but the company made it even better.

Well yeah, that's a quick summary, lots and lots of pictures uploaded to facebook, but too lazy to post them here! Miss you all, see you all soon :)

Good Morning or Good Night

It's 9:30pm now, but it's 4:30am in Singapore. Orientation started today, but it wasn't much really. Just got back from dinner and a crazy foozeball session with the nice nice Singaporean friends who stay in this hall too, and I think it's time for a blog entry :)

Let's start from the time I said goodbye... Well my awesome church friends decided to get me a really pretty sunflower and I guess it served it's purpose because I couldn't help smiling every time I saw it :) My mother somehow found it hilarious that my friends would give me a flower, and she laughed even more when I insisted on bringing it on the plane with me! I was leaving a trail of yellow petals behind me >.<

I stuck it into the seat pocket in front of me, which was fine for awhile but not when the food was served! So it ended up on the floor under my chair and I was a little doubtful about whether it could actually survive the journey to London!

But it did! Here it is, well enough despite looking a little disheveled.

I reached my room early in the morning.. explored the place and unpacked a little and that it was off to explore my "territory" for the next 3 years!

Lots of red phone booths around...

And red buses... SOYINKA!!!

People stand on the RIGHT instead of on the left on the escalators in London. I kept forgetting and accidently blocking the way of busy business men rushing up the escalators :/ A lot of things are the other way round here in London, like in the lift the open and close buttons are on the wrong side, so I keep accidently closing the doors on people. Oops!

My first and I'm sure not the last plate of fish and chips in London. It tasted pretty good! Nothing compared to steamboat buffet at bugis or newton food centre though.

One of my school's buildings. The buildings here in London are somehow so much nicer to look at than the buildings in Singapore!

Playing in Regent Park with my mum's friend's son. The parks in London are so awesome, I just love how I can sit on the grass without it being muddy and gross. No wonder Enid Blyton and all are always writing about kids having lovely picnics in the sunshine.

Still in Regent Park, with my mother and cousin. I love the park!

And London's weather is just wonderful, because the choice of clothes is increased by a whole lot! Suddenly I can layer clothes and wear long sleeves without sweating like a pig. And speaking of pigs, Chunkit and Jiaxin, guess what I found!!

It's Percy Pig's children and wife! According to the sign, Penny pig is supposed to be limited edition too. I couldn't help but laugh out loud when I saw these.

Well it's getting late and I think I shall go shower, do QT and be off to bed. I'll blog again soon. Leave me a tag, I miss all of you a lot!

Hello from LONDON!

I've MIA-ed for 3 days, but yes, I am still alive and very well! The internet here is great, and didn't need any setting up and all, but my past 3 days have been totally PACKED! It's almost 12am right now (7am in singapore!), and I'm really sleepy, but I decided I must update my blog, or I'll never get around to doing it. Loads of people to email to, I must thank all who came to send me off at the airport... appreciate it with all my heart, more than you could imagine :)

Just want to say sorry that I couldn't split myself into 3, so that I could talk to everyone at once. I felt SO bad that I couldn't!! But it really means the world to me, just to see you all one last time. And nope, no tears were shed! Not even when I went into the boarding area, not even on the plane! Haha it's not that I'm heartless.. but I will be back so soon.. :) miss you all though.. I think the realisation that I wouldn't be able to see everyone on a regular basis anymore hit when I was on the plane, reading all the lovely notes from all the lovely people. I do miss all of you so much.

Zong the monkey if you are reading this can email me the pics you took for me at the airport? When you are free... THANK YOU!! You're the best man :))

Well I'm just about falling asleep now, but my mother's going home tomorrow and I guess I will be freed up considerably, so I shall update more about my first 3 days in london, WITH PICTURES, tomorrow. Till then, good night! (or good morning, in singapore time lol)

My last post from sunny Singapore!

Today is THE day and I'll be flying off in approximately 9 and a half hours time! I don't think it has quite sunk in that I'm leaving yet. Yesterday and today has just been a blur of packing my luggage and packing my room... making sure I have not forgotten anything.

And this week has been quite a blur too, with lots of eating involved! Here's a little glimpse of my last week in Singapore... (sorry if I met up with you but forgot to take a picture!)

Just want to say a big, big thank you to everyone who took the time to meet up with me before I leave, to all that treated me to really yummy dinners, to all those who smsed me to say bye, to all those who have told me they're coming to the air port to send me off, to all those who said they want to send me off but can't, to everyone who gave me good bye gifts no matter how big or small, and to all who wished me "all the best in London and do take care". The food was good, but the company was better!

I'm really blessed to have found such amazing people in my life =) LOVE YOU ALL. My next post will be from London, and I'll see you all real soon!

Remember to Skype me! :D

Wall-E

I'm totally in love with this movie. It's sweet, simple, funny and cute. Everyone should watch it if you haven't already done so! I don't mind getting the DVD and watching it over and over again. It's the kind of movie that's sure to put a smile on your face. :)

p.s. I'm really dreading friday! I think I'll be relieved when I finally get onto the plane haha.

p.p.s. Packing is a lot more difficult and mafan than it looks! Just don't know where to start!

Here's to Goodbye

It's 330am, I'm talking to Chia Paul on msn and she really made me think about what next friday at the airport is going to be like. And I'm REALLY NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!!!

Man, I'm really quite excited for London and I'm not dreading it at all, especially since I'll be back in December which is only 3 months away. But I totally forgot about the whole airport scene, and lately I've been seeing all the photos on facebook of farewells at terminal 3 and what not. Just thinking about hugging everyone and saying goodbye... maaan it's killing me. Hahha. All the emotions I'm going to feel... yeah, not looking forward to it.

But yes I'm so thankful for everyone that has told me they're coming to send me off. I'm so grateful and you all make me feel so loved... in a sense, I'm also glad that the farewells will be painful and sad.. Just goes to show how much all of you mean to me.

It'll be hard to leave you all, though it's only for 3 months and right now I can say that I'm not going to cry, but we'll see at the airport huh. SIAN. Lol.

Well, 1 week to go!
