It's a pretty last minute decision that MrGoh and I are going to KL for a short retreat. :)

Be back over the weekend. :)

head prize~

Today, I kena "head prize"...
No, it's not the 4D. I wished I striked.

I kena bird shit on the head during lunch.
So I went to buy 4D. Wanted to buy Ibet but didn't...who knows my IC number came out in 24 permutation number.

Because there were 3 of us, not including my baby, and only I kena the bird shit, I bought 2931, thinking it's the 29th. Returned to office to realise today is the 30th! And my colleagues were telling me, it should be 4person...
Then it came out 4301.

~~~
Finally had the chance to meet Peishan for dinner after donkey years. Went to TPY hub and found the maternity swimwear but the condition isn't very good and it's one of the last few pieces... so I held back.
Learnt that the cotton disposable panties is OOS throughout Singapore's Watsons, so I'm really lucky to grab those at Sun Plaza's outlet. :)
Had dinner at Padi's Point, previously housed Hog's Breath Cafe. The service's prompt and their set dinner is quite worth the money. SGD19 nett for a soup, salad and a main course, together with one drink. Because I'm not a salad person, guniang and I managed to change the salad to a dessert at no extra cost.
The soup and main course was served fairly quick and tasted good. Not sure why, but I was extremely touched when the dessert was served, maybe because of the wait staff's attitude. Firstly, he was very nice to offer a change from salad to ice-cream. Secondly, he served us ice-water without us requesting and added that the soft drink may be too sweet for us, that's why he is serving us ice-water. *adds points*
And before he served us the ice-cream, he even asked if we wanted any syrup topping. *how thoughtful!* When the ice-cream was served, I'm extremely surprised because they served us 2 scoops. I mean, usually I would expect one scoop of ice-cream.
To sum up, I would definitely return to Padi's Point and recommend all of you there for dinner. :)
time to make new friends.
It's the time of the year again.
In barely 2weeks' time, I heard of yet another colleague within my group of lunch kakis tendering their resignation letter. :x
I remember back then when I first join this company, the lunchie group can get as big as 2 tables of 10pax. But now, probably 3 or 4. Sometimes only me and myself. :x
With the leaving of 2 lunch kakis in 2months' time, my lunch group size has shrank considerably/significantly to 5pax, including myself. But this number is very dynamic and I'm not expecting full attendance everyday. :x
It is also this time I realise I'm underpaid. I need a promotion with a raise soon! :s
my fear for eating.
Nowadays when I take sweet stuff, I hesitate for a while cos I haven't done any test of GD (Gestational Diabetes) and I am afraid to be tested positive for it.
GD happens during pregnancy when hormonal changes makes the cell less responsive to insulin. And it commonly occurs during the 2nd trimester.
It is said that GD goes away after child birth but some minority cases will continue to have them. Also, it's just not healthy for both the mom & baby to have GD during pregnancy.
With all that said, I just cannot curb my cravings for chocolate ice-creams and sweet stuff. :(
I pray and hope we'll be fine. :)
Am going to find out more on GD from my gynae next visit too. :)
Rib pain during pregnancy.
I have been experiencing some rib pains since 3-4weeks ago and I thought it was due to the increasing in circumference around my lower bust area and that I should be using a bra extension for that matter.
After getting some new bras, I thought this problem would go away but it did not. Found time to do some googling and found out the cause.
With reference to this site:
Rib pain during pregnancy can be a persistent problem, especially during the third trimester. Your rib cage may feel mildly sore or extremely tender and bruised. You may have discomfort on either side, or both sides, though it is commonly worse on the right side of the ribs.
Pain occurs in and under the ribs as your uterus grows. Later in pregnancy, your abdomen becomes stretched, and your uterus stretches upward as well as outward. Your pelvis and abdomen are becoming full, and your baby is beginning to press up under your ribs and chest. This upward pressure from your baby may also make you feel short of breath.
This pressure on your ribs and diaphragm may also result in shoulder pain, because there are nerves in the diaphragm which can refer pain into the shoulders. This pain can be very sharp! It may also result in indigestion or acid reflux as your baby puts the squeeze on your stomach.
Additionally, as your breast become larger, they also place pressure on your ribs. During pregnancy, your breasts may increase by one full cup size or more. The extra weight pulls your shoulders forward and down, and places strain on the upper back, neck, and often results in pain around the rib cage.
As your body prepares for the delivery of your baby, your hormones are hard at work loosening your muscles and ligaments. This loosening can allow your ribs to shift and move in ways that were not natural before, causing discomfort. Your ribcage is not only loosening, but expanding as well, not only to make room for your baby, but also to help increase your breathing and lung capacity. Even though you may be feeling short of breath, your body is taking in about forty percent more air than it did before you became pregnant.
Rib pain during pregnancy can cause the greatest discomfort when you are in a sitting position. Practicing good posture is especially important. Try to make sure that you sit up straight with your shoulders back. Slouching will compress your abdomen and result in more pain.
Try to wear loose clothing so that you do not add any extra pressure to your belly. Try getting a new bra. It is especially important to have a supportive bra that is not too tight. Under wire bras may put too much extra pressure on your ribs. Now may be a good time to invest in a good nursing bra. They usually offer nice support without being too tight and will be useful once your baby is born.
Holding your arms up over your head can take some pressure off and provide temporary relief from rib pain by lifting the ribs away from the uterus.
Practicing doorway chest stretches can also be helpful because they, too, will help rotate the shoulders up and back, which can also help lift the ribs away from the uterus.
Stretching and prenatal yoga are great for keeping your body long and loose. The less compressed you are, the less your rib cage will hurt. Breathing and relaxation exercises may also be effective. There are a variety of hands on techniques that can help to gently stretch and lift your ribs away from the uterus. Applying these techniques to your breasts, chest and abdomen, can really relieve a lot of pain and pressure from your body, though you will need a friend or partner to help you.
Scheduling a visit to your massage therapist, chiropractor, or acupuncturist, may also help provide relief from rib pain during pregnancy.
If you are having rib and flank pain that goes through to your back, and or burning or pain with urination, you should contact your health care provider. This could be an indication of a urinary tract infection.
I guess I shall be asking my gynae about it during my next visit on the 13th April. :)
happy.
Went to Metro@Compass Point today cos there's a member cum UOB card holder 20% sale.
Thought of going there to see if I can get any maternal swimwear but instead of getting what I have in mind, I Hubby Lubby bought a whole lot of other stuff...
I bought the Versace promotional set (Buy one 50ml Ladies free one 50ml Mens) perfume. Just nice we both needed one and his Hugo Boss is not selling at that outlet. Got a few baby stuff AGAIN! Can't help but to browse the baby section every time I go shopping. MrGoh also got 2pairs of Crocs for his parents (one pair each).
Since Metro Compasspoint didn't sell maternal swimwear, I tried my luck at Kiddy Palace; turns out they didn't sell them as well. :(
Then MrGoh got his portable HDD and mouse pad. For me, I got the waterproof sheets for maternal/confinement use only. :(
Much as MrGoh doesn't want to shop, he made most of the purchase today! Understandable because I can only shop for maternity & baby stuff now; baby stuff are almost done and I don't really have much maternity stuff to buy unless it's for confinement use. Probably it's time to get more A-line/Baby doll dresses or maternity wear to prepare for my later maternity stage(3rd trimester) cos most of my pre-pregnancy dress cannot wear liao. :x
Bought yaya out for shopping today... and we are one happy family. :)
p/s: if you don't understand, it's between MrGoh and I. :)
Started to pack my hospital bag bit by bit. Need to decide which duffle bag to use. :)
Childbirth Education Lesson 2.
Still I cannot decide to change to Mrs Wong's class or not (ref: read here, so I attended yet another class of Lilian's.
Outline for today's lesson:
Lesson 2
Pain Relief
• Antenatal Exercise
• Physiological Approach to Breathing Relaxation
• Changes in Pregnancy Leading to Signs & Symptoms of Labour
• Other Alternative Types of Pain Relief in Labour
• Instructional Video
• Q & A
The lesson started with yet another video. This time, it shows the different types of pain relief methods which can be used during labour. There are so many different types I cannot bother to remember but it also shows the common ones like laughing gas and epidural. Lilian says the most effective method is to relax.
Following the video presentation, Lilian brought us through the labour procedures, e.g we can only push when 10cm dilated and the doctor will perform episiotomy upon seeing a little bit of baby's head to facilitate the delivery. She then taught us the different methods of relaxation / breathing methods during delivery and how to push during delivery. :)
During the lesson, she also taught us how to let the baby communicate with daddy through massaging the daddies. :)
That's about it for today's lesson that I can remember. :)
Dating day tomorrow with Hubby Lubby. Long time no date liao. Uber happy. :p
p/s: Hubby Lubby fixed the base problem and the wooden plank can fit in liao lor... it proves that my hubby is a big bull... got a lot of energy to push the base in. :)
addicted to online shopping.
Recently I found myself hooked onto on-line shopping!
I cannot resist signing in to Gmarket everyday to get the G-coupons & G-stamps, then browsing through the items/daily good deals.
But sad to say, there isn't much for me to buy/shop for, (no prizes if you have guessed it by now) all the stuff I bought are nursing/maternity stuff! My night nursing wear came and I quite like the quality & make so I placed for more orders, this time, catering to outdoor wear.
Then at the Singapore Motherhood Forum, I also made some purchases for wetbags. They are supposed to act like ziplock bags, but washable/reusable. The drawback is, it probably will leak if the bag is not standing up-right (since it's zip-top). Anyway, I got them because of the prints and I was thinking of organising the diapering stuffs into smaller bags when/if I bring the baby out.
I also bought 2 for myself. One occasion I can think of using it, is when we travel. Throw our dirty stuff into the bags. Of cos, plastic bags can do the job but.. I like the prints on the fabric. :x
Also bought one for my sweet cousin who never fails to surprise me with gifts. She prepared me a wedding gift and another gift upon learning my pregnancy. *how sweet!* And I thought this wetbag would be useful to her since she's more like an outdoor person and I bought her the Precious Thots prints. (All her gifts to me are from Precious Thots so I assumed she would like it as well.)
Going really broke this month. :(
I must try to curb my online buying habitaddiction.
~~~
Remember the "hole" I mentioned when we bought the Toyogo boxes? Dad made the base for me and guess what! It didn't fit. A little disappointed cos it's so nicely made. :x
Couldn't fit because the wardrobe position might be a little mis-aligned, thus, it got stuck in the middle. :x
Let's see if MrGoh can perform miracle, if not, Dad need to re-do another one. :x

~~~
Hubby Lubby is not coming home tonight due to work. I will be a good girl and survive the night without him. :)
Love you.
short shopping trip.
Was feeling a little tired out yesterday so decided to take a half day leave.
Left the office for Yishun, with the intention of getting bra extensions then heading for home.
As always, things don't turn out as wished. The extensions are out of stock. And it's been OOS since CNY. Left without choice, I decided to try my luck at those bra counters over at Metro.
Met mommy at Woodlands and we realised that the counters went closed down to the in-store renovations. :( Went around looking but to no avail due to the special sizing of the bra extensions. :x
We ended up at Kiddy Palace getting stuff for the little one. I realised there's nothing much I can shop for now. Everything purchase of mine on the credit card bill seems to be all for the little one or preparing myself for delivery/confinement now. And I even became a Kiddy Palace member for huat zai. :) It is also at Kiddy Palace I realised BabySafe don't sell mattress covers for the size of mattress we bought!!! And the largest size for mattress covers we found at Kiddy Palace is still smaller than what we need so mom offered to make one for us. :)
We sought the last resort to try out those bra stores nearer to mom's place since mommy decided not to go Woodlands Centre. In the end, I bought new bras. Phew, relieved. :)
My Gmarket stuff arrived yesterday too. Looks good but too bad, no more discount now plus the seller decided to increase her shipping price/term. I'm going to make more purchase but I shall ship them out separately since it's now charged by per piece instead of one time charge for bulk shipping. Moreover, each of her package comes with a pair of free baby socks. If I were to separate the purchase, it will mean I get more socks! :)
jonna's wedding gift.
Remember I blogged about receiving wedding gifts from Jonna & family months back. I finally found time to upload the pics! :)
Parcel from them. Strangely, they like to address me by my dialect name because they think I'm chinese. :)
One look at it, I knew it's from Danmark! :)
I wonder who drew this cute little drawing. Uber sweet!~
Unboxing~
the box full of warmth & surprises. :)
Introducing Jonna & Leif. :) The Danish host that hosted me during my christmas stay in Denmark! :)
Btw, this reminds me I still have something outstanding to do! I actually planned to send them my wedding favours, my gatecrashing CD and some pics from the wedding. But I just couldn't find the time to do it. Vel has already helped me prepare the wedding favours and I just need to burn the CD and print some pictures, then write to them.
Targetting to get them done before I give birth. :)
first JB trip!
Last evening, we went for our first JB trip, with little huat zai.
This is the first time Hubby Lubby and I drove in to JB, together with the little one in me.
The plan for yesterday is dinner & car servicing, so we went in after MrGoh's soccer session. Yeah, yesterday's schedule was action-packed with us visiting Expo's for the Moms&Baby fair, then him to soccer and finally us, to JB. :)
The servicing took longer than expected, so after car wash & petrol pump, we returned to Singapore around 12plus past midnight. :) Then we had some supper at the 24hour coffeeshop before heading home. :)
At the car garage, I also managed to pick something useful for the car. A CD pouch to put in all the discs (imagine MrGoh's car compartment drawer is full of CD boxes, so cramped!). Now the compartment drawer looks neater and more spacious. Also cuter with the smiley face CD pouch. :) Next I picked the Winnie the Pooh seatbelt cover with a little pocket where we can put tissue/handphone. (I'm not a fan of Winnie but the design is the nicest among the covers plus I'm attracted to the little pocket it has.) I suggested putting tissue cos it's more convenient for MrGoh and space-saving. Our little car only have 2 side pockets (driver & front passenger) and one little drawer so space can be a little limited. :(
As for the Expo trip, I'm glad that MrGoh is so patient with me shopping around despite having a soccer session later in the afternoon. After going round the hall, we got a Latex mattress from BabySafe, which costs us $180 (UP$255), a bottle brush & a pack of GOON diapers. I know it's a little extravagant to buy the mattress but first child mah, I want to ensure things are okie for him. Besides, we really needed one to put at our own place so he can sleep on it when I bring him back during the weekend. Heard that it's better for infants to sleep on Latex mattress and mattresses which are not too soft. Just nice, this one caters for the little one. :)
Anyway, the price of the mattress is accorded with the size. Since it's not for cot use, we got the bigger one, 28"x56"x3", which explains why it's so expensive. After getting home, I realised we should have bought the fitted sheets are well, stupid me. :( Now we have the mattress but not the cover. And I wonder is it hard to find the covers since it's of the bigger size. :(
TMC's childbirth education course. :)
Since this is my first pregnancy, I decided to take up the prenatal/antenatal class organised by Thomson Medical Centre (TMC) to better prepare myself.
I was told not too take up the classes too early as I might forget about the stuff taught in class by the time I deliver but the TMC staff advised that March is just nice as the classes will end in April and I will still have time to prepare. After all, the lessons cover not just the baby care, it also touches on other aspects of pregnancy. :)
TMC's childbirth education course is being offered at 2 locations, TMC itself & AMK Hub and on both weekdays & weekends.
I chose the weekdays classes at AMK hub for obvious reasons. I suspect it will be less crowded and AMK Hub is so near to my workplace so in case Hubby Lubby cannot make it to the class with me, I still can go there by myself. Plus we don't have to worry about parking at AMK Hub. Another benefit of weekdays lessons is, they cost lesser than weekends lessons (on top of the 10% FBI discount). For me, the fees ain't really the pulling factor for weekdays lessons; it is more of, I can attend the classes after work and not to make extra trips back to AMK hub during the weekends. :)
So there I enrolled myself ourselves in the childbirth education course conducted by the famous/popular lactating expert Mrs Wong Boh Boi, starting on the 18th March (last evening). However, when I got there, I learnt that the instructor was not Mrs Wong herself, but Lilian Pong, a state certified midwife. *disappointed* :(
Here's the outline of lesson 1 (found on TMC's website):
Lesson 1
Physical & Mental Preparation
• Antenatal Exercise
• Nutrition Before & After Delivery
• Myths & Traditions
• Coping with Pregnancy Discomfort
• Back Care & Postures
• Instructional Video
• Q & A
The class started with Lilian showing us a video on breastfeeding twins.
Then she went on to explain the pelvic bone, the ligaments and what happends during birth of baby. Before demonstrating on the exercises which could help to soften the tail bone, which could, in turn ease the labour process, she taught us the right ways of sleeping (lying on the left), and getting up from lying and squatting/sitting position.
I'm not sure about Mrs Wong's class but one good thing about Lilian's class is, she goes around to observe us when doing the exercises. When she found some of us having problems with a particular exercise, she got us to stay back & correct us. I'm one of them. I couldn't get 2 of the exercising postures right but she probably only notice one and I didn't seek help from her on the second cos MrGoh was feeling impatient by the time the class ended (at about 9.30pm). He wanted some 'polluted' air plus we needed to go to East Coast Park.
Thereafter, she gave us a presentation on the food and nutrition for pregnancy woman. She highlighted that calcium is a must and some chinese herbs like "tang gui" and ginseng are strictly not advisable. If I remember correctly, it is because after giving us, they will inject something to stop us from bleeding and taking those 2 herbs might prevent the effectiveness of that injection. In between, she also advised that it is better to get the nursing bras and breast pump after delivery. :)
Then she went on to dispel some confinement beliefs that originated from decades ago. She mentioned that probably due to the weather in the olden China days, people drink wine/liquor to keep their bodies warm but it is not so applicable in the modern Singapore. Plus if you are breastfeeding, the baby will probably became a drunkard. hehe.
Finally, she taught the daddies how to massage the mommies and communicate with the babies. :) I think it is beneficial that MrGoh learns how to massage me and it proves to be useful when I get cramps.
Another interesting thing we learnt is the daddy-baby communication technique, that is, NEVER rub your tummy in a circular manner as it simulates a whirlpool inside the tummy (because of the water bag) and it might lead to premature labour. Instead, press your palms on the tummy, by the sides; from bottom-top, then sides (didn't observe it's left-right or right-left).
Then, another way is to do the butterfly motion up from bottom cos it sends ripples in the waterbag and stimulates baby movement. Thereafter, the daddy can lie on the stomach and talk to the baby softly, and in short conversations. :)
Actually I read about the circular motion thingy on forums too. Besides that, I also read that if your baby does not like you touching him/her, then the top of the tummy will feel very hard and not soft to touch. Lilian didn't mention this or maybe she did but we didn't get her. Probably the fellow forummers learnt this from Mrs Wong's class. I'm still contemplating to change or not.
After the class, we drove to East Coast Park and met up with MrGoh's family and relatives to light the Kong Ming Lantern. No pictures cos we were busy preparing them. Because we needed to write on the lantern, so MrGoh became the backing while I wrote our names, together with 吴家小宝宝 and our wishes. He then lighted the lantern and up it went. :)
Return home after that for durian feast! Read on the forums that some advised to eat and some advised not to. But no worries, I ate in moderation so I think it should be okie. :)
Going to meet the Shangri-la people and hopefully things will go smoothly and come to an end. :)
3D.50th.happy! :)
Today marks our 50th get-to-gether anniversary! :)
And we did our 1st 3-D scan of the little one. :)
Ran a number of errands today.
Woke up in the morning, extended our car insurance policy in order to renew the road tax due end March. Then woke hubby lubby up and we drove up to Ubi's Baby Kingdom to take a look at the cot. So I was mistaken about the type of wood the cot is made of, from what they have to offer. The website states it's oak/natural color and I mistook it for oak wood. So it's actually made of pine wood and we (Rachel & I) finally decided the one offered at Taka Baby Fair is better, plus it comes with a bundled deal at SGD399. :) So we went down after my Gynae visit and now, we'll just wait for 28th May for delivery & assembly. :)
After Ubi, we made a trip to the Toyogo showroom at Toa Payoh to get some storage drawers for baby stuff. Managed to get it in the right dimensions and at a good price too! :) But I came home to realised while measuring, I forgot to take into consideration of the wall lining such that the drawers cannot stand on the floor. :( End up I need to find something to fill the empty space.
Parents-in-law just came back from their Phuket trip and bought quite alot of clothes & stuff for the little one. Niceee & cheap! How I wish I could make a trip to BKK NOW! Though the Gynae says I'm fit for travelling... I guess it's better to stay in SG for now. :)
Oh, and the Gynae advised it's good to do some swimming... so I'm going to get a maternity swimsuit soon! :)
Some updates on the little one & today's visit:
Did some test for infection and he weighs ~700grams (average:600-800gms) at ~24weeks so we are within the average! :)
Tsunami in Japan.
When my boss told me about the earthquake in Japan, I didn't think it as a major disaster. It was only when I saw the cable news last night that I realised the magnitude and scale of the damage caused by the tsunami following the quake.
My heart goes out to those affected by it. I pray for speedy recovery of the areas/people affected and I hope there'll be little casualties.
Heard that Taiwan is affected by the tsunami too that it raises alerts too. But luckily the alerts were withdrawn later yesterday evening.
Taka Baby Fair
The much anticipated Takashimaya Baby Fair is here! (from 9-27 Mar)
Went to the fair alone after my course on the first day (9th March) and bought some Avent milk bottles, teats and pacifier. Damage ~$60. Walked around the fair and recced on the prices. Decided that there's nothing much to buy and left for home.
Returned again with mommy & Rachel today. Damage ~$180!!
With due consideration (that mom needs to take care of the baby and all other chores), we decided the most convenient & safest way of sterilising the bottles is to get a electric steriliser as opposed to the traditional way of boiling them so there we have it, the Avent electric steriliser.
We also bought a few stuff... from the fair. It's good to have the mom there so she can advise what to buy and what can wait...
We also saw a cot selling with a bundle of freebies at competitive price. Very tempted to get the cot but still, I will give the Taurus cot I came across at the Baby Kingdom's website a chance. That means I will go to the Baby Kingdom and see the cot for myself, decide which is a better deal since the packages are competitive.
No matter how, my eyes are also set on the Munchkin organiser. If I get the Taurus cot, I probably will return to the fair to get the organiser.
Went to Watsons and bought some pads intended for after birth use. Bought 3 small packs of different brands and lengths to see the inner texture on which is better and more comfy.
Still have a lot more items which I haven't buy yet but I guess my mom will take care of those for me. 3 more months to EDD. Hopefully I won't miss out buying anything and 到时候 we won't 手忙脚乱. Shall pack my hospital bag in May. :)
Interesting info to share.
Remember MrGoh and I visited his Grandma last Friday.
During one of our little chats, we talked about breastfeeding.
Then his grandma shared some interesting information with me.
That is, when you breastfeed, you can't get pregnant.
Not that I want to get pregnant immediately after birth but I definitely want to breastfeed my kid for as long as I can, at least till age of one or 18months.
I brushed it off as a myth, but yesterday I googled and found this information to be true to a certain degree (read here for more info.. Pretty interesting information to know. At least we know it when it comes to family planning for #2. :)
Next, she also mentioned that breasts becomes less attractive after breastfeeding. I did a google also, found some articles, but I am not able to read all of these articles in office now. Apparently, one of the articles I have access to, says breasts do sag after breastfeeding due to hormonal changes.
Then the grandma went on to reveal she didn't breastfeed her children (or maybe she did, but not for long) and proudly claimed that her kids are still as healthy as those were breastfed; so are MrGoh's aunt's kids; his cousins they are.
Though she didn't discourage me from breastfeeding, I could sensed that she weren't pro breastfeeding either. :x
Since I'm a first-timer, I shall let nature take its course and hopefully I can breastfeed the Little One so he gets the nutrients and we save on formula milk money. haha~ kidding on the money part. I wanted to breastfeed because I believe breast milk has the essential nutrients a baby needs and is au-natural~
Sidenote; happy 三八妇女节 to all ladies! :)
Name of the Little One.
Still not to late if we haven't decide on one but MrGoh and I feel that it's good to settle down on one name now, then we can start calling the baby his name and he too, can start familiarising himself with his own name. :)
For his Chinese name, we decided to let the Master/Expert calculate based on his date&time of birth so we are left with the decision of his English name. :p
Nowadays, I see a lot of kids with name ending with -den; e.g: Jayden, Kayden, Brayden, etc and I don't really fancy the idea of my kid having the same name as kids of/around his age.
Then again, we wanted something that's not too unique or hard to spell or pronounce, neither something funny so that his peers won't make fun of his name. It's really a difficult task man.
I came to like the name: Aiden, Shaun & Ethan.
While hubby lubby prefers: Kegan, Cash & Cashton.
Finally, we got down to Ethan & Cashton. It's really hard to decide cos both sounds good to me. But there are also cons to each. Like the pronounciation for "Ethan" (sounds like "eaten"; imagine, have you eaten, Ethan?) and the name "Cashton" itself invites discussion.
A colleague pointed out that the most important thing is, how comfy we are when calling his name.
Example:
1. "Cashton, shut up! Go to your room and do your work! Else Papa/Mama will smack you!"
2. "Ethan, shut up! Go to your room and do your work! Else Papa/Mama will smack you!"
After the "Ethan" as 'eaten', I am more towards Cashton this name. But I'm not sure...
发仔, would you prefer Ethan or Cashton 呢?
Readers, any comments?
the baby kick.
Up till now, I am still a little confused. How do one know it's a baby kick?
I think I briefly felt my baby move for the first time when I was seating alone in the living room watching Lover's Concerto (下一站,幸福) at around 10.45pm~11pm when the show was about to end on 25th January. I didn't give it much thought then since it was only for a brief moment and it felt like a muscle twitch. Besides, they say first time mommies don't feel it until 20weeks. I was only ~17weeks then.
I felt it again on the second night around the same time and FB-ed about it. :x
MrGoh felt it too. The muscles twitch. :)
Still, I wasn't sure if it's bowel/intestinal movements or fetal movement. :x
Then when we went for the detailed scan, the sonographer told us we wouldn't be able to feel it at that moment because the water bag is absorbing all the baby kick impact. Moreover, I didn't feel anything when the sonographer showed us that the baby's moving. Hence, we concluded those earlier feels wasn't baby movement.
Now, at 22weeks, I am feeling more of the muscle twitching (in terms of frequency & strength) but I'm still not sure if they are baby movements. A quick check on google shows that baby movement can be of many forms: fluttering butterflies, nervous twitches to tumbling motion. So, can I conclude they are baby movements? I'm really confused!
You know, in dramas & some real-life cases, the baby will kick their mothers when the latter ask them to. I tried but to no avail. So, is it normal?
I guess I need to clear my doubts with my gynae on the 14th. :)
a spree-ing date.
Remember I mentioned about getting a car seat? MrGoh actually talked me out of it because it's really not the most essential thing to get now plus we've got a budget to meet so we are now going for the really basic and essential needs first before addressing the rest.
We made a point to wake early to make a trip to Harbourfront's Mothercare baby fair today. But before the fair, we ran some errands to the bank and only got to the fair around 12noon.
Spent about an hour or less in the store and we chalked the bill to $200++. All purchases are with courtesy from the Little One's dad, MrGoh. heehee~ *To the son: your dad really dotes on you a lot to bear to spend sooooo much on you, just on the clothings. And me, being the practical mom, who knows you will outgrow very fast, have to keep him in check yet without disappointing him.*
Had a quickie lunch at Long John's before getting some stuff at Giant & Watsons. Then proceeded to Tangs to get my skin care product. Initially I was expecting the bill to be $200/300++ but I guess I needed to replenish most of them and the total came up to a whopping $419. I am so gonna exceed my allocated expenditure this month, cos I made a few purchases on Gmarket amounting to $100++; also, not forgetting my other minor buys/spends... Opps...
After all the purchases, we caught the movie "I am Number Four". Both MrGoh and I feels that it's quite a good show and worth the time&money. :) *We kept imagining we possess the supernatural powers after the movie and kept 'using' it at each other. hee~* I think this show is quite popular cos we see people seating to the 2nd row from the screen for a 3pm slot. Lucky for us, I got the HSBC movie card and made our seat booking the night before. Else, I don't think we will get such good seats. :)
Back to my mom's place after the movie to drink the apple water she specially boiled for me, to help me relieve my cough. :) Then home sweet home with MrGoh for MJ session with his family&friends. ;)
Love the time spent with Hubby Lubby.
The night before, on Friday evening, MrGoh came and pick me up after work; brought me to his Grandma house and paid her a visit. We spent about 2hours+ there and I just love the bonding time. :)
prepping for the new passenger.
It's 1st week into March now and we've still have got 3 more months to expecting the arrival of the Little One.
With a handful of baby fairs coming up in March, I guess it's a good time to start preparing a seat for this new passenger on our car. Yes, you read me right. Baby seat.
The first baby fair started yesterday at Harbourfront, held by Mothercare Singapore. After some scrutinizing on the promotional flyer, I finally set my eyes on the Britax first class baby seat.
Basically there are 3 categories for a child car seat. One that's meant for babies & newborns up to 13kg, another meant for toddlers (~9months to 4years old) and lastly children below 12 years.
After a quick check on the prices, I deemed buying a combination car seat (meaning a seat which is suitable for newborns & toddlers) as the most cost-saving option. Then checking through the promotional flyer, there's only one such model on sale. The offer is really attractive, usual price at $468 and now selling at $299. But the catch is, its limited to 5seats per day and that means we gotta be there really early to queue for the goodies. :(
I heard from one forummer mommies saying the Q got quite long when she was there at 10.15 in the morning. That means, we gotta be there at like 9.30am? I wonder if MrGoh would be free to send me there cos I would need the person to tell me if we can fit our car or not... *fingers-crossed* :)
resolution for this work year.
I know it's somewhat the third month into the new year but I didn't expect my health to be in such a poor state. :( So here I am, making my resolution for this work year: a 5-day work week.
Weird, as it may sound but I have already utilised 4days of MC within these 9 weeks of the new year. :( Hopefully, I won't break my last year's MC record. *fingers-crossed* :x
Though MC is an entitlement, I feel bad sometimes. Especially so when the boss is a nice guy and I know I have a 16weeks maternity leave coming up in June; not forgetting those time-off given for my (monthly) pre-natal checkups. :(
Let's pray my blocked nose & cough gets better.
Been coughing badly and it's affecting my sleep. :(
Hopefully when I recover, I will have the energy to do gatherings with my sweets. :)
Miss my sweeties; haven't been seeing them for the longest time since our last MJ session / shopping session with 姑娘.
Baby shopping starts this weekend! woohoo~
