Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

I've had the pleasure of working with Can O' Blooms to create a bold and beautiful, easel card gift box.  This view shows my Copic-filled image surrounded by Stampendous Chiffon, Sage and Taupe Color Fragments mixed with Ranger's clear embossing powder.

I used my Sizzix Bigz Pro Die Box with Lid #2 to die cut Bazzill green cardstock to form my box. 1/4" red line double-sided tape is strong enough to hold the box together.  I added an additional die cut box top to form my easel card then used Best Creations Inc Circus Dots from their Circus Circus line to add splashes of bold color to my box and card.

Lifestyle Crafts Large Circles and Large Scalloped Circles shape my image.  A Cheery Lynn Designs Heartland America Large heart adds a bit of love and sunshine to an upper corner.  Whimsy Stamps Friendship Ticket Sentiments "sending hugs" is die cut with their Ticket Die.

Now all my box needs is a lovely gift, perhaps candy, and it's ready for sharing sweet and loving thoughts.

Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge: White On White

The Lovely Ladybugs over at the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge want to see your White On White projects.  Hop over to enter your project for a chance to win TWO stamps (or FOUR if you use a Ladybug Crafts image!). You can find out more about this challenge and the wonderfully talented Ladybugs here.

* * * * *

Ladybug Crafts Ink carries a sweet line of Floral Delight Too digital images featuring a whimsical variety of floral images.  I've used Jug and Vase Delight to create a side open card to send warm wishes to someone special.

As I wanted to keep my White On White card elements as the main focus, I used some of my lightest Copic colors to fill my image in a very simple way.  This view shows my Copic-filled image . . .

I had a lot of fun making my border as I wanted my White On White elements to be special even though they were lacking color or pattern.  I first used my Marvy Uchida Clever Lever Quick Borders Craft Punch with a Scallop Flower punch cassette.  Close To My Heart Bitty Sparkles are centered in each punched flower.  A McGill 1/4" ribbon stitch hand punch provided slots for me to weave my Offray 1/4" grosgrain white ribbon and double bow.  Finally a ProvoCraft butterfly hand punch added a third layer to my border.

Layers of Bazzill Avalanche white textured cardstock form my card.  One matted layer is dry embossed using a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  Lifestyle Crafts' Large Circles and Large Scalloped Circles shape my image.  A popped-up EK Success Whale of a Punch Photo Corner Scallop punch is lined with Heidi Swapp clear bling to decorate my upper corner.  Whimsy Stamps' The Good Life Tickets sentiment is die cut using their Ticket Die for sharing a warm sentiment.

Here's a view of my completed card front showcasing Ladybug Crafts Ink Floral Delight Too Jug and Vase Delight . . .

Ladybug Crafts Ink carries a sweet line of Cupcake Cuties digital images featuring a lovely young lady and her variety of cupcakes.  I've used Wagon Full of Cupcakes to create a side open card to send birthday wishes to a little someone special.

This view shows my Copic-filled image . . .

Layers of Bazzill Kraft and pink cardstock with Wild Rose Studio's Spring Fling patterned paper form my card.  A machine-stitched border surrounds my patterned paper and image.

I've threaded a string of My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart "Be Amazing" yellow twine through the banner stamped and die cut using Whimsy Stamps Celebration Circle Pennants Sentiments and Circle Pennants die set.  A Whimsy Stamps Swirly Balloon Border is die cut using different patterns that are lightly coated with Diamond Stickles for sparkling fun then popped up for a bit of dimension.  My image is shaped using an EK Success Scallop Corner punch layered over a QuicKutz Scalloped Square.

Here's a view of my completed card front showcasing Ladybug Crafts Ink Cupcake Cuties Wagon Full of Cupcakes . . .

Elisabeth Bell's Going on a Walk Digi Bells' Blog Hop

It seems to me that an update was rolled out to my pc/laptop that included a tormenting code to keep me from adding any photos without unbelievable frustration and near-to-tears desperation.  I've read about other bloggers having trouble with loading their pics but have not experienced this trouble until now.  I nearly gave up . . . Why does this happen?  What's the solution to keep it from happening again?  That's enough crying from me about that for now . . .guess it was my turn.

Card Art with Copics: Ryder Cole by KennyK

I'm thrilled to participate in this week's Sweet Stampin' "Fancy Folds" challenge as a guest designer.  I'm so lucky to be invited to submit another project to be displayed along with the Sweet Stampin' team projects.  Thanks to Tracey and the rest of the Sweet Stampin' design team for including me!  (You can find out more about this Iva Nova Chest AND The Ribbon Girl sponsored challenge and the wonderfully talented Sweet Stampin' design team here.)

Meet Ryder Cole.  He's one of the few really cool KennyK images that you can get as a digi from KennyK's online shop here or as a rubberstamp from Whimsy Stamps here.  Ryder Cole is a great image to have on hand to meet those awkward teenage boy events like birthdays, thinking of you or congrats for a great job done.

This photo shows my completed card front where I've used this great teenage boy image.  Spellbinders Labels Four (with Grands Labels Four) die cuts shape my image.  Bazzill cardstock is layered with Rusty Pickle's Lizzie's Cats spotted paper.  A border is made using McGill's single star punch and a bit of Michael's 1/8" Textured Trios striped ribbon.  A Jillibean Soup Beanstalks twine is tied in an upper corner.  A few QuicKutz Revolution Flourishes are scattered about while a single handmade flower, lightly painted with Diamond Stickles, (Punch Bunch 5-petal flower, small cosmos and birch leaf) sits in the lower right corner.

I prepared a "Happy Fall" tag to adhere to the front (Get it?  Wishing a skateboarder a Happy Fall!?!? LOL!!!) .  I decided to hang on to the piece to use if I give the card to a young man who won't be hurt by it.  LOL!!!  Teenagers can be sooo temperamental . . .

And here's the inside of my card showing Karen Foster Design's Fall Foliage patterned paper.  I left the sentiment area blank because I'm really not sure how I'll use this card at this time.

This view shows my Flip Z card, open and ready for display . . . This pic doesn't show the remaining empty space left as the image flips to the front.  This post of my Flip Z card shows the space much better (here).

Pop over to the Sweet Stampin' challenge blog for wonderful design team inspiration and enter your "Fancy Folds" project to win some fabulous prizes.

Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge: Sizzling Summer Days

The Digi Bells design team over at the Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge Blog wants to see your Sizzlin' Summer Days projects.  A very lucky randomly selected entry will win TWO Elisabeth Bell digi images of their choice AND a prize from Whimsy Stamps!  You can find out more about this challenge and sponsors here.

This sweet little lady shares a picnic snack with her bunny friend while they wait to watch the amazing interaction of colors in a spectacular show performed by nature's sun set.  You can find this wonderful rubberstamp image designed by Elisabeth Bell for the Whimsy Stamps Little Cottage Cuties Collection here.  This image evokes a peaceful feeling for me and I suspect the recipient of my card using this image will feel the same.  I intend to share this card with someone who is handling a difficult situation in the hopes that they'll find comfort through my card art.

Here's a closer view of my Copic-filled image . . .

Cosmo Cricket's Love Notes - Always patterned paper is layered with Bazzill autumn-toned cardstock to form my easel card.  An Offray 5/8" green paper ribbon provides a grounding element for my cluster of Close To My Heart Mini Medley Chocolate Shades flowers with brad centers and Sweet Stamps Sweet Cuts Elegant Leaves die cuts.  A double and offset die cut of Sweet Stamps Sweet Cuts Mini Medallion in orange and green draws the setting sun out of my image and onto my card front and base.  A few simple brads accent the upper left corner.

I ran the Sweet Stamps Sweet Cuts Flutterby No. 2 die cuts through my Xyron "x" twice then covered the sticky surface with Sparkle N Sprinkle's Crystal Ice Glitter for amazing sparkle.  Ranger's Inkssentials Black Enamel Accent gives shiny dimension to the butterfly body and antennae.

Here's a view of my completed card front showing my use of Elisabeth Bell's Sunset Rose rubberstamp image . . .

The base of the card includes a lovely multi-font stamped sentiment from Stamp Oasis . . .

Here's a view of my easel card, open and ready for display . . .

Card Art with Copics: Kenny K's Jasmine

This sweet Kenny K image named Jasmine can be useful for nearly all occasions.  You can find Jasmine as a rubberstamp at the Whimsy Stamps online store here.

I've used Jasmine on an easel card to share happy wishes.  Here's a closer view of my Copic-filled image.  A layer of Diamond Stickles adds shimmer to her shirt.

Layers of Bazzill cardstock with SEI Diane Fresh Linen double-sided patterned paper form my easel card and faux stitching adds a contrasting border.  A few Recollections black mini brads are lined in two corners.  A Morex Corp 1 3/8" white lace ribbon provides a grounding border.  A happiness sentiment from a Stampin' Up! Summer by the Sea set is stamped near my image.  Cheery Lynn Designs Fanciful Flourish and Mini Fancy Flourish are layered with My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Blush "Sweet" Pearl Swirls.  Flower clusters are formed with Prima's Gillian Raspberry and Fairytale Roses Baby Pink with Petaloo Dazzlers Florettes in fuschia.

Here's a view of the front of my card showing how I've used Jasmine.

The base of my card includes a stamped sentiment from a Stampin' Up! For Father set, a strip of KaiserCraft Pink Champagne pearls and a Creative Charms pink netted butterfly.

Card Art with Copics: Kenny K's ElenaK

This fabulously fun young lady dances her heart out while she plays her tambourine.  She is a rubberstamp image, named ElenaK of the Rock Squad Collection, designed by Kenny Kiernan for Whimsy Stamps.  You can get your own ElenaK at the Whimsy Stamps online shop here.

This photo shows my Copic-filled image entertaining everyone who watches and listens.

Creative Imaginations Feel the Rhythm double-sided patterned paper, layered with Bazzill cardstock forms my easel card.  My image is shaped and matted with Lifestyle Crafts Large Circle die cuts.  A very old (like maybe 8 years old!  I was surprised that it still worked! LOL!!!)  Jo-Ann Essentials Word Stamp contained the perfect words that reminded me of a favorite song called The Best of Times by Styx.  Strips of Michael's light blue Rhinestone Stickers border two sides of my card cover and base.  K&Company Christmas Cheer Adhesive Gems are aligned in the opposite corners.  Handmade accent daisies are easily coordinated when I use Punch Bunch punches in small, medium and large daisies and birch leaves with a mini sun.  Each flower is lightly painted with Star Dust Stickles for amazing sparkle.  McGill's pine branch punches provide nice, sparkly filler.  Bits of My Favorite Things Die-namics Fancy Flourishes cut from gold cardstock provide glamorous movement throughout.

This photo shows the front of my card, displaying Kenny K's ElenaK . . .

The base is decorated to match the front.  I've added a sentiment from a Hero Arts clear Huge Hugs set.  QuicKutz Revolution Rockstar Outfits dies provided a great drum set and guitar that I paper-pieced with gold mirror paper for more dimension.  A Lifestyle Crafts Doodles cookie cutter set provided the perfect You Rock die cut embellishment.

This pic shows how my easel card looks when open and ready for display . . . This card was so much fun for me to work on that I feel a bit sad that I have to call it done.  Odd, huh?

Card Art with Copics: Kenny K's Madison Attitude

This energetic young lady is hurrying to show off her favorite finds from her recent shopping adventure.  She is a rubberstamp image, named Madison Attitude, designed by Kenny Kiernan for Whimsy Stamps.  You can get your own Madison Attitude at the Whimsy Stamps online shop here.

This photo shows my Copic-filled image all ready for a birthday party.  Flower Soft Black covers the trim around the collar and sleeves of her jacket.  Bits of tissue paper peek from the openings of her shopping bags.

Bo Bunny's double dots embossed paper, layered with white Bazzill Bling and Reminisce Northern Exposure snowflake patterned paper, forms my side open card.   A strip of 1/8" Offray blue ribbon provides a border and triple bow.  A Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Rectangle frames my image.  A Creative Charms beaded flower clusters with a Prima Raja Sequin flower and a Me and My Big Ideas icons mini rhinestone flower.  The stamped sentiment is from Stamps by Judith.  Prima Say It In Crystals black rhinestone swirls add movement around my image.

This photo shows the front of my monochromatic birthday card, displaying Kenny K's Madison Attitude . . .

The inside is decorated to match the front.  I've added birthday party sentiments from a Close To My Heart Everyday Celebration set.

If I enclose a gift card or cash, then I'll write something like " . . . but I couldn't find a thing for you!"

Card Art with Copics: Whimsy Stamps Touched by Love by Crissy Armstrong

Whimsy Stamps carries a wonderful line of rubberstamp and digital images designed by Crissy Armstrong.  I've used Touched by Love on a joy fold card to share Christmas wishes.  You can find this digital image here.

Here's a closer view of my Copic-filled image.

I've layered Simple Stories Generations patterned paper with Bazzill textured and Paper Co. Neutral Fashion smooth cardstock to create my joy fold card.  A Satin Sensations 5/8" Merlot satin ribbon provides an accent bow.  A Hot Off The Press clear Christmas Art sentiment supports my use of this image.  Other embellishments include a McGill pine branch punch and Punch Bunch holly leaves with KaiserCraft red pearls in place of berries.  ClassAPeels Victorian Borders Gold stickers adorn a corner on the front and inside of my card.

Here's a photo of my completed joy fold card showing my use of Whimsy Stamps' Touched by Love digital image as designed by Crissy Armstrong . . .

Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge: Glimmer, Shimmer and Shine

The Digi Bells design team over at the Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge Blog wants to see your projects full of Glimmer, Shimmer and Shine.  A very lucky randomly selected entry will win TWO Elisabeth Bell digi images of their choice AND Elisabeth Bell designs from 7 Kids College Fund!  You can find out more about this challenge and sponsors here.

I've used this fantastic rubberstamp image called Meadow Magic designed by Elisabeth Bell for Whimsy Stamps' Little Cottage Cuties Collection.  You can find this sweet little angel building her magical snowman at the Whimsy Stamps online store here.

This pic shows a closer view of my Copic-filled image.  A bit of Martha Stewart snow glitter is layered over the ground and touches the snowman's hat and carrot nose.

Layers of Bo Bunny A Gift of Love Tis the Season Treasure patterned paper with Bazzill red and teal cardstock form my card.  A Memory Box Holly Vine provides a classy, leafy swirled border topped with a Prima Tea Rose Snow, red ribbon and pom-pom yarn flowers.  Xmas Red Stickles shimmers through some of the McGill Pine Branch punched shapes.  A few Bazzill Basics red jewels are lined along two corners.  A Jo-Ann's holiday metallic red ribbon bow adorns another.  My sentiment is from a Hero Arts ClearDesign December set.

Here's a view of the front of my completed side open card showing my use of Meadow Magic, as designed by Elisabeth Bell, full of Glimmer, Shimmer and Shine . . .

Here's a pic of the inside where I've added more of the patterned papers, some diecut with Lifestyle Crafts large circles.  I'll have plenty of room to add a personal, handwritten note . . .
