Power and Spark - Become a Bloomie 2

I am back again; with another project that I made for the Power and Spark Challenge.

Since this is my second post today, I will make it quick.  I went looking again at Pinterest to see what I could CASE.   This means Copy And Share Everything!
I found this card by Stacy Morgan,.  I have done this technique before, but never on a tag.  If it's tag, I am in.

I love coloring this Tiger Lily XL.  You can make it so many different colors.  I chose pinks for this one.  You can see the layers on the bottom view.

Memory Box Die, Main Street Tags, Tiger Lily XL Power Poppy stamp and sentiment form Lilac Time.  Copic markers, R83, R81, R56,V01, YG21, YG23.   Ribbon, sequins and button  from my stash.

Power and Spark - Become a Bloomie

This month you can put on your thinking hat close your eyes and actually become a Bloomie. What is a Bloomie, you ask?  Well, that is what the designers at Power Poppy are called.  

                                     
I have several favorites and I started checking out their Pinterest pages to find a beauty.
I found two and I am going to enter both of them in the challenge this month.
Oh, In case you don't know what CASE means.....  Copy And Share Everything!
For my first card, I am CASEing this card from Cindy Lawerence



I love the design and the colors on this card.  I stayed with the design, but changed the colors and I got a much different look.
My card is more vintage and distress looking.  I usually don't make vintage cards, but a project has a way to doing it's own thing, ya know?

I started out with a piece of white card stock, that I inked with Distress inks, in Victorian Velvet and the new oxide Iced Spruce. I used Swiss EF on the one side and stamped the flowers from the set Lilac Time by Power Poppy, on the bottom.   The center is a combination of two Spellbinder dies, Fancy Tags Two and Scalloped Ovals. Just when you think you will never use a die again, up pops an occasion.  Never get rid of any craft supplies.  I put Gina K Design black and gold ribbon through some slits that I made in the ends. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.
I hope that I have inspired you with this card.  I became a Bloomie for an hour today, A girl can dream, can't I?

Mod Squad Challenge for July - Make the Sentiment the focal point.

For my challenge this week on the Mod Squad, I would like you to make the sentiment the main focal point of your card.  I have done two example for you so that you can see what I mean by this.
My first card.

 For this one, I chose to do a square card and round off the corners. I used cars stock from Gina K Designs in Tomato Soup and some design papers form My Minds Eye, The Sweet Things.   I stamp the rose from the Power Poppy stamp, Everything Even Rosier, in Tomato Soup ink from Gina K. That left a tone on tone image.  My favorite border die from Spellbinder with scallops was cut from matching paper from the design paper pack.  The white rectangular frame is My Favorite Things die and it frames this beautiful digital sentiment from Power Poppy, Peonies.  You can resize this to be any size that you may need.

This is my second card.

For this card, I stamped the Planning for Magnolias in gold embossing powder and colored them with Weather Wood Distress ink.  I wanted them to look white.  Then I fussy cut them out.  After printing out the FREE sentiment from Power Poppy, I colored the letters and the leaves and acorns and hearts.  A little sponging about the sentiment with Antique Linen Distress ink to finish.  The base is Gina K Designs Ocean Mist card stock as well as the frame.  I adhered the magnolias on the bottom cutting it apart, for it to fit the way that I wanted.

So, lets see what you can do for your project.  Remember to make the sentiment the main focal point.  You can use this free sentiment from Power Poppy and it would give you a second chance at winning the prize. Just sayin!

Double D Challenge- Pastel Party

I have not had time to enter a card in a challenge for quite some time.  Finally, there was some hours available.  I have had this card in my head for a long time, Has that happened to you?
It just happens that the challenge at Double D was a good fit for it and that has brought me to this post on my blog today. Here is the Inspiration board for the challenge.

 Such pretty pastels and flowers, so that is what inspired me to complete the design in my head.  I have wanted to use the jar for a card and I don't believe that I ever have.  I used some older stamps and some brand new ones.  I'll list them below my picture. 

A peek at the inside.  I have made it a must, to at least put something in the inside each time I make a card. 

Here are the  supplies that I used:
Gina K Designs card stock in White and Innocent Pink
Gina K Designs ink in Innocent Pink and Bubble Gum Pink
Gina K Designs stamps, Buds and Vases, Assorted greetings (sentiment) and Sentimental Summer kit
Simon Says die, Heart Parade, Just the large heart
Memento ink in London Fog
Some Acetate and Black Stazon ink
Swiss Dot embossing folder

I stamped and cut out the jar and then scribbled some Copic BG72 on the front, to give the look of water.  I didn't think of how I was going to attached the jar, but it worked out well.  I used a small adhesive dot, rolled up and place it on the top rim of the jar and the bottom as well.  The leaves cover that up.    The hearts die cuts a border and I just reversed the colors and used part of the greeting. 
I will be entering this one in the Double D challenge, if you had not guessed that by now.

Seize the Birthday - Red, White and You!

What a catchy title for this challenge.  Red White and You ( The last color is your choice) 
At first, I thought a red, white and blue card would be great for the first challenge in July.....But then I decided to be a little stinker and make it different.  I have been on a gray kick lately and that is the color that I added to my red, and white.  I also pulled out a stamp and die set that I have not used at all. MFT stamps make the cutest cards and this is the one that I made for you.

 For this card, I used the MFT Tropical Flower and matching die, along with the Rectangle Peek-a-boo window.  The card base is Gina K designs white heavy weight, and the flowers are stamped in Gina K Tomatoe Soup and White pigment ink.  This stamp is a double stamp image. The leaves are stamped in  Memento London Fog ink. For the stitched rectangle die in the background, I used a 110 lb paper that I bough on sale at Michael's.  A little water added to Distress Pumice Stone  ink and I made the splatters on the upper corner for interest.  Hmm... maybe some sequins should be there too. 

I used the gray for the inside of the card.  It is a light gray to write on and I had a leftover leaf die cut that I used there too  You can see a bit of it in the picture.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp, It's your Birthday.
