Wow, time flies! I promised to post this because one of the class members did not get to come and needs to see how to make her kit! Better late than never I suppose!

Cards 2008 - Class 1
I just love my classes! You gals are the best! I'm so lucky to count you as my friends!
Just a reminder that cake sprinkles make great shaker box additions!

For this crayon resist technique you need to allow for your ink to dry or heat set first. Use a plain white crayon and simply wipe off with a paper towel after you've sponged your ink. . . I think I'll take you to a new level with this technique in September!

If you make this again, try and think outside the box. This would make a great baby card!

You can use the inside pop-up technique in many ways. Try this on your own; make three individual pop ups instead of just 1 in the center!

So many uses for this cute concept. Teach a bible class? In a book club? Easily convert this for many uses! How about a get well card delivered with a new book or magazine?

This 6X6 was one of my favorites. There are things I would do differently if I made it again, but over all I think its a great card. Don't forget the cut out technique we used. You can definitely use this concept again and again!

My next class is Recipe Club. . . This is going to be fun! Until then, I hope you enjoy this post!

Get It Done - Sarsaparilla
Yes, Sarsaparilla is spelled just like that! Sarsaparilla (for those who may not know) is a drink similar to Root Beer and was wildly popular in the Pioneer era. I guess that subconsciously could be the reason I chose the photos of Mikensee's filed trip to Laura Ingals Wilder Day at the Pioneer Living History Museum. Class was June 13th and I apologize for not getting this posted sooner. My camera was dropped the day I took the photos to post and it's really hard to run a camera when the screen is bmmmmmlelh looking. I'm really bummed too because this is the camera my mom bought me for my birthday last year. . . it's not quite even a year old. Jessica dropped it and although she didn't tell me she did it, when I turned it on and found the bmmmmmmlelh screen and asked her about it she told the truth. I'm thankful for that. (If you knew Jessica you'd be proud of her too! :)

Collage (Self Created Layout) This is the main scrapbooking technique I am teaching you tonight. This is a great way to combine lots of not so good photos or duplicate images on one page. You can also use this for photos that are similar (like a child on a playground). We are GETTING IT DONE!
Trim patterned paper to 11” Square. Fold one corner in and adhere to Barn Red Cardstock.
Select as many photos as you have left to finish your story. Trim them to keep focal points or parts of pictures (as in the lunch bucket). Don’t worry so much about size and trim them to where you can still trim them if needed.
Starting with 1 larger photo in the approximate center of your page layout your photos until you achieve a look you desire. If you need to, re-trim some photos or find more that you can ad. I added the bucket and candle photo to achieve balance and finish the collage.
Again starting with the center, larger photo, carefully remove from “position” and ad adhesive. Stick to page. . . keep working in this manner so you don’t lose your layout. Add embellishment Stick=Ease, your photo turn, brad and photo clip. Ad twine and journal as desired.
