In our sofa - Ingrid's place- *Maja design*

At Maja Design the DT members are sharing, over the course of the year,
a little peek at their scrap place/room.
Today it's my turn to share my little scrap place.
And little it is!! LOL
I'm not having the luxury of having my own scrap room and always make my projects on my dinner table. Not having a scrap room means you'll find my stash and products all over the place!
And I mean everywhere!! :)
My two girls are still living with us but it will not be long before they will leave the nest.
Always kidding them by asking them when they will leave so that I can redecorate their rooms into a scraproom. Shhh(don't tell)...the truth is I love having them around me!
Here are some photo's of my house, so sit back and don't mind all the mess!!

I remember buying this white cabinet and wondering how I was ever going to fill this one
and look at it now......need I say more? :)

Can you guess what's my favorite color? :)
This is the other side of my living room with a view of my small backyard.

Painted my stairway some years ago. All the colors still makes me very happy!

A rare view of one side of my living room.....empty dinner table!
Darling daughter finally has a chance to actually sit at that table!
I always try to clean up the table after every project.
Doesn't always works that way but I kinda like all the goodies at my display!

Boxes, boxes and boxes everywhere!

This is what my table looks like after another Maja project!
Now you see why I desperate need a scraproom, don't you? LOL

I have to admit I have a crazy obsession to find it difficult to throw anything away from all of those papers. Every little piece I have to keep and I even save all the leftovers from my punched flowers!
Do you think I need some help? :)

All my painting is done in my kitchen.
It's very small but somehow I find a way to work between all the cups and plates!
I'm driving my girls crazy when they need the space for making their lunch or even to make a cup of tea! No worry girls, we will find an empty place! :)

I told you it would be messy! LOL

But he....I DO clean!!
Ready for another project! :)

Hope you all liked this post and who knows, maybe soon I will be lucky to have my own space! :)
Enjoy your day!

create with passion *Shimmerz*

Today I want to share a canvas featuring the new INKLINGZ.
Had a lot of fun playing with the colors!
For this canvas I used the following Shimmerz:

Inklingz -pearl-
sunkissed
pink-a-boo
beets me
me-blue

I started to randomly applying the colors.
Added some water to let the colors blend a little.
Wanted to get a more white-washed effect so I applied some gesso and
lightly used a dry paint brush to get some stripes and
I used the end of a spoon to get a more textured effect in the gesso.
When I start with a project I never know which way it's going to lead me.
In this project it kinda turned out in a dress, but that's only my imagination. :)
I see a colorful wedding dress including a veil!

Here you can see how the colors blend in with each other.
Love to use the 13Arts twigs!

All the flowers were colored with the Inklingz as well.
The big paper flowers and the tulle flower are from 13Arts.

Used some Prima resin the create the top of the dress.

Here you can see the effect of the extra stripes into the wet gesso.

Found these beautiful lace flowers on the internet and of course I had to paint almost all of them! :)

Hope you all liked my today's post and remember:
Create with passion!!

Enjoy your day!

gift box *Maja design*

Today I want to share with you this gift box featuring the new Maja collection, Coffee in the Arbour.
This box actually was a child's wooden Mikado game box which I found on a local flea market.
It's perfect as a gift with room inside for a lovely message and a small gift.

For this project I used the following papers:
Raspberry lemonade
Raspberry cupcake
Rose Garden + the bottom stripe
Raspberries
Tags and pictures
Grandma's old porcelain cups
Flourishing garden

The box with the decorated inside.

These big white flowers are from 13Arts.

The frame is also from 13Arts and the metal heart is from Action, a dutch store.

Made the flowers with a Spellbinders die.

A tag from the tags and picture sheet to write some sentiment.

Enjoy your day!

little gift box *Shimmerz*

When I came back from our vacation (which was absolutely perfect!),
there was a lovely surprise waiting for me.
Finally my package with the new Shimmerz has arrived!!!
Oh my....so many gorgeous colors from the new Shimmerz product: INKLINGZ.
You only need to activate the paints with water and the fun can begin!
Today I had the time to play with them and they are so great to work with!
What better way to showcase the colors by making a little gift box decorated with all the new paints.

I randomly applied the paints and added some water to let them run a little.
The lock and the metal feet got a coat of gesso first
and then one layer with the Inklingz-metal: tarnished treasure.
These gorgeous metal feet are from a Dutch online store: Scrapunlimited.
You can find these and many other beautiful embellishments here.

For this project I used the following paints:
Inklingz-pearl: Beets me
Giddy about green
Pugnacious purple
Coral reef

Inklingz-gold: Blue my mind
French twist

Inklingz-metal: tarnished treasure

Here is the top view:

And some close-ups:
Found some tulle flowers and twigs in matching colors.
These beauties come from 13Arts.
You can find these flowers and twigs here.

The lace flowers and the paper flowers were painted with the paints as well.
I found the lace flowers online.

Playing with lots of colors for the background.
Added some small glass beads for more texture.
Toned it all down a bit by applying some gesso.

Hope you all liked my todays post and you will be inspired to try the new Inklingz!
You will love them, I'm sure!!
If you place a Shimmerz order make sure you add my name during check out
and you will get a FREE sample of your choice!!
You can find the Shimmerz store here.

I'm a Maja girl!

Just got back from my vacation and finally had the time to play with the new Maja collection,
Coffee in the Arbour.
Thought this dress form would be perfect to show that I'm one of the Maja girls and I'm proud of it!!

Took me a lot of hours to make all the flowers but I loved every minute to dress this girl!
I always use a white background for my project so I was a bit scared to use this colored one but it was the only way to showcase the tulle from the dress. The background are two sheets from the Vintage Summer collection, 1921. The dress form is about 40cm high.

I have cut some small stripes of the 'Raspberry jam cookies' paper to make the base of the dress.
Distressed all the edges for more interest.
The body frame was made of a soft fabric filling so I decided to adhere all the papers and flowers with small steel pins. And believe me, there were a lot! LOL!

The back side of the dress, using some tulle and a bow.

All the flowers were punched and rolled with these papers as well.

These flowers were punched and distressed.
Used a small bead to pin them on the dress form.
Added some lovely lace as well.

Made a skirt from tulle and two flowers to hold it open.
On both sides I used two beautiful fabric flowers from 13arts.

I have a seriously addiction: I just can't throw anything away! LOL
These were left overs from my flowers and I thought they gave the dress a fun and playful touch.

The lovely bow on the back.

The hat was made with tulle, a fabric flower from 13arts, some left overs and a rolled flower.

And of course a metal heart as I just LOVE Maja Design papers!

Raspberry jam cookies
Raspberry cupcake
Raspberries
Grandma's old porcelain cups
Flourishing Garden
Let's share a cookie

alarm clock *Shimmerz*

Another fun project today!
Love to alter these clocks. Found this one at a local flea market and
after taking all the inside out it was ready for some paints!

After stripping all the inside out I gave the whole clock a gesso base.
Added all the paints and let them run.
After drying I stamped with a number and texture stamp.

I used the following Shimmerz:
Butter Cream
Key Lime
Aqua Marine
Coffee

I think this must be my fav color combo!

Found this children's necklace in my stash and it was perfect as an extra touch!

Added some ribbon at one bell and around the clock.

Some lace and metal thread.
This lime colored thread is actually a floral binding thread.
I wrapped it around a small needle to create the spiral shape.

All the paper flowers were painted with the Shimmerz as well.

Also made a card with the same colors.
For the background I mixed gesso with some sand.
Randomly applied some paints and sprayed them with some water to let them run.
These flowers were also painted with Shimmerz.
A little bit of stamping and some gesso as a final touch.

Just for you......wishing you all a happy, sunny and creative day!
