Daddy said yes!

Ani kept telling everyone she wanted her ears pierced. She was actually hitting other people up for money. When they asked her why she wanted money, she would tell them it was because daddy wouldn't let her pierce her ears. Today we were at the mall and he told her she could. She was so good. She never cried. When she looked like she wanted to cry, we kept telling her how pretty she looked. She stopped. So like ani.

Christmas Day

Since the kids went to bed so late, they had a hard time waking up. Bray woke up at nine and we had to wake ani up around nine-thirty. I think we were just as excited to watch them open their gifts. They got some great gifts. Thanks everyone!

Mika's first christmas. She was crawling everywhere and eating everything. We only bought Mika a minnie mouse stuffed animal. She still had plenty to open.

The only thing ani kept saying she wanted was a dollhouse. Everything else she would say then change her mind.

ani's cool gift. ani loves spiders. specifically tarantulas. i know, so weird. my dad took her to the biology room at his school and she loved seeing the spiders. she wanted to hold them. we told the fa'alafua's and they found this remote control spider. she loves it! it scares bray and the baby. she uses it against them.

we spent the rest of the day relaxing and playing with our new toys!

The Eve of Christmas Day

We spent the morning cleaning house. We heard Santa doesn't come to a dirty house! We went to our family party that evening for dinner and fun times. We did a relay race where we had to make ears for our elves, wrap gifts, make ears for the reindeer, and put a beard on santa. Our team won, of course.

Winners!

We also put on a nativity for the parents. Ani was Mary and Paka was Joseph. They were SO cute. Kahai was baby Jesus, again. We still laugh every year.

We opened our smallest gifts when we got home. Carrying on the tradition. The kids didn't get to bed until around midnight.

Mika's smallest gift was from Aunty Ella. She got her a cute outfit.

The kids left out cookies & water (our Santa is lactose intolerant). The cookies were pretty nasty too. Dane took bites and spit them out. Haha... At one I went to check if the kids were asleep and Ani was still up. She said she was too excited. By one-thirty, she was a goner.

Little Crazies

We love our little Ani girl. But lately, she is definitely testing our patience. We still can't talk her into doing anything she doesn't want to do. Recently, she proved that she may be small, but she won't let anyone push her around (we'll share that story another time). Besides us constantly trying to reason with her, she is still very independent. She thinks she is big enough to do everything on her own. Life isn't boring with Ani.

Did we mention earlier that she loves her nails painted? We keep hiding those bottles and she keeps finding new ones. Ugh! It wouldn't be so bad because we do have nail polish remover, it's the getting it out of carpet part we hate.

When it's quiet, you start to wonder... I walked into her 'making pretty' session. I just laughed. Yikes.

Miks is now 8 months and is EVERYWHERE. She won't sit still! She especially likes to chew on the christmas presents.

Baby loves the silly faces Bray makes. He can always make her smile. Ani on the other hand, tends to upset her. Baby will yell and try to attack Ani. It's kind of funny. I like watching them together.

Christmas Programs

Ani had her Christmas Program first. It was our third year watching this particular Christmas Program. Dane & I know most of the songs by heart.

Ani was very excited. We curled her hair and she chose what she wanted to wear. She did pretty good. She kind of lost interest towards the end and when I tried to smile encouragingly, she gave me the stink-eye and shook her head. I think she was ready to walk off the stage towards the end. Still, she's very entertaining.

Bray's class did The Grinch. Bray was the dog they turn into a reindeer. I'm not familiar with the movie (never seen it), but I guess it's part of the movie. Bray did a super job. He's too funny. He sang loud and smiled. Much different from his little sis.

SLC Weekend

My parents planned a Christmas weekend before Jo & Amanda took off to Taiwan. We all stayed at the Hilton (Thanks Hola!) and had dinner at Pat's BBQ. The kids loved the ribs and they also had a band playing. It was pretty cool. They would eat and dance and eat and dance. It was a lot of fun. We really wanted to take the kids to see the lights at Temple Square. It was FEEZING! The kids were good sports and didn't complain much. Too bad the nativity scene lights turn off at 9 pm! We walked around a little then headed back to the hotel and drank hot chocolate.

Happy Holidays

We just found our lost camera. Until we have pictures to post, here is a picture that Ev took of the kids.
