Thank You Part 2

Last night I added a couple of thank you cards that I've done for Teacher's Warehouse and explained a little about what we do there. So to finish off the set that I made here are the last two cards.

Image: recycled greeting card
Sentiment: Desert Diva freebie
Ink: Mowed Lawn Distress Ink
Card Stock: kraft and white (somehow I lost the border frame for this one so I just added a white card stock frame from my stash)

Card #2:

Image: recycled greeting card
Sentiment: Simon Says/Newton's Nook Pocketful of Happiness (STAMPtember 2020 limited set)
Ink: Mowed Lawn Distress Ink
Card Stock: kraft

I just love "punny" sentiments to give a little humor to the card. I use them often. I am entering these challenges:
I hope your Monday gets off to an amazing start. We are supposed to have rain today and I hope we do as it's very dry here. My garden could certainly use it. I will leave you with a picture that my husband took the other day.

Our squash do very well out at our second garden as you can see from what we picked on Saturday. The one that made me laugh was the 8 pound zucchini that I am holding. It was big enough to be a baby so we sent this picture to our kids to introduce them to their new "brother." Haha! Into the freezer tis baby goes. Zucchini have a way of hiding until you can't miss them. Besides zucchini we are growing spaghetti, butternut, and honeynut squash. I can't wait to start harvesting the sweet potatoes. Thanks for stopping by. Please stay safe. Peace and all good!

Thanks Fur Spoiling Me

This is the last of my Christmas Thank you cards. I will hand deliver this card tomorrow to a friend so I popped a lot of things up with foam tape.

The images are from Stamptember promotion at Simon Says Stamps along with a collaboration with Newton's Nook called Pocket Full of Happy. Unfortunately when the Stamptember stamps sell out they are usually gone for good. It's such an adorable stamp set with matching dies that I used to die cut the images. The cute images are colored with Spectrum Noir markers. The sentiment is from the same set and die cut with Gina Marie Designs Cross Stitched Rectangles (retired). All the elements are popped up with foam tape. The semi-circle is die cut with Spellbinder's Classic Scalloped Circles. I am entering these challenges:
That's it for me today. No more time to craft. Tomorrow we are back to both of our volunteering jobs so we'll be gone most of the day. Hope you are staying safe and healthy. God bless!

Puppy Pockets

I am back for my second post today. It's raining now and looks like it could rain all night long (unless it turns to snow if our temperatures drop). My schedule is clear until Thursday so I won't mind if it snows tonight. LOL! It's way too early for snow but it wouldn't be the first time we got snow in October. I did get to play a bit more this afternoon and I took a page from Jennifer McGuire, who likes to make more than one card at a time.

The images and sentiments are all from a new stamp set and dies that I bought during Stamptember from Simon Says Stamps. The collaboration set was from Newton's Nook called Pocketful of Happy (no longer available). I colored the puppy pocket with Spectrum Noir markers and used the paw print from the set to add some embellishment. The designer paper is from Francis Meyer, Inc. I die cut the A2 die from MFT Blueprint 13 and then cut it in half diagonally, to use on two different cards. The sentiments are different for each card. One says "Sending you ... paw-sitive thoughts!" The other says "Pocket full of ... Birthday Wishes." I am entering these challenges:
I am going to try to find more time for crafting tomorrow. We'll see if my DH has other ideas. Thanks for stopping by. Stay safe, be healthy, and God bless!

Bugaboo Christmas in July

This week is the fun yearly Christmas in July challenge at Catch the Bug. Life has been happening around here so I am getting a late start on this challenge, but I was able to get 2 cards done this afternoon and evening. So here's what I did.

This card is from Day 1 of the Christmas in July challenge. The theme is Santa's workshop. All Santa's helpers are helping to pack the sleigh for the big trip! The Bugaboo image is Scene It - Santa and Friends. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and added some sparkle with Recollections glitter. The oval is die cut with Gina Marie Designs Wonky Stitched Ovals (just the outside oval). I used two different background papers from my scrap box and the red with snowflakes is a scrap of ribbon from my ribbon box. I backed the layers with black card stock. The base of the card is greeb card stock. The sentiment is from Newtons Nook All Aboard for Christmas stamps and die cut with Spellbinders Circles Large. I am entering these challenges:

Day 2 of the Christmas in July challenge was a sketch challenge

My card features one of my favorite Bug images: Santa Claus Peeker.

I colored Santa with Spectrum Noir markers and added some Recollection glitter on Santa's hat and coat, and even a few sparkles on his beard. I die cut the image with Spellbinder's Lattice Rectangles and backed it with a scarp f patterned paper. I used two other patterned papers from my scrap box for the background. I added a ribbon with gold sparkles on from my ribbon box. The sentiment is from a retired Flourishes stamp set. To finish off I added some gem stones. I am entering these challenges:
That's it for me today. Just a quick update on my brother. Rick is still in ICU on a ventilator. He isn't getting better very quickly. Please keep  him in your prayers. Thanks! Have a super week and stay safe!

Fetching you a Happy Birthday

Another card from the Dueling Darling kits from 2018-2019. I unfortunately don't have the supply list from this kit so I am not sure of where this image and sentiment come from.

But I tracked the stamp set down. It's from Newton's Nook called Fetching Friendship. The image and sentiment are from the same set. I don't know where the designer papers are from. Or the embellishments that were sent with the kit. But I used a stamped bone and the Go Fetch brad. The sentiment was die cut with Quikcutz Tags. I added the hat to the pup's head. The card base is red card stock and the backing layers are black card stock. I am entering these challenges:

2 Crafty Critter Crazies: use a critter
Sweet Stampers challenge: animals/birds
Seize the Birthday: anything goes
Crafty Hazelnut Patterned Paper: use patterned paper
A Bit More Time to Craft Extra: anything goes

We have the twins again tomorrow so there won't be time to craft. I hope to be back with something new for Tuesday. Thanks for stopping by. Have a safe and healthy week!

Hello Pumpkin

It's already the 15th of October and time for another Dueling Darlings showcase! This month our challenge hostesses were Barb and Tracie. Tracie wrote: How could we not celebrate fall for the month of October? So Barb and I decided our theme for October is "Pumpkins."
Here's what was included in the kit:

  • Image and sentiment are from Newton's Nook Designs called Harvest Tails; stamped on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • The designer paper is called Autumn Splendor by Simple Stories.
  • Embellishments: ribbon is Pumpkin Pie from Stampin' Up, Flowers from Prima Flowers, twine and button from her stash.
I made 2 cards with Tracie's awesome kit. I colored both images the same with a mixture of Bic, American and Spectrum Noir markers. Here's the first card
:

I fussy cut the image after coloring and made a beeline for the plaid paper that Tracie included. (I LOVE plaid paper!) The 4 squares are die cut with MFT Inside and Out Stitched Rounded Squares. I used a different sentiment from Jillibean Soup's Jar Goodness. I added the pumpkins included in the kit to the middle of each square. I am entering these challenges:
Now for card #2.

For this card I just squared up the image with my paper trimmers. I distressed the image and sentiment with Gathered Twigs Distress ink. The scalloped border is from  a Stampin' Up punch. The sentiment is die cut with Impression Obsession Mini Rectangle Tags 2. I am entering these challenges:
I hope you will check out all the dueling cards today. The links are in my right hand column. It's always a treat to see how the same materials can look so different on the cards. Thanks for stopping by today!

Love Your Pet with the Dueling Darlings

Hurrah for the 15th of the month! It's the day we showcase the kits we receive from the Dueling Darlings. This month Tracie sent the Dazzlers their kit and Barb was in charge of the Divas. I'm with the Dazzlers. Here's what Tracie says about her kit:
"February 20th is 'Love Your Pet Day' so we decided this challenge would be pet related. The image is from Newton's Nook Designs called 'Fetching Friendship.' These images are stamped on Neenah Classic crest cardstock with Gina K Amalgam ink. The designer paper is from Authentique 'Companions.' I included pieces of ribbon and brads from my stash. My youngest sister's birthday is February 19th so this is in her honor. She works for a pet company and always loved to see pet cards."
I created two cards with the kit. The images are so fun and we had lots of fun embellishments to go with the fun images.
I loved that design paper with all the dog faces and flowers so I used that as my background. All my coloring was done with Spectrum Noir markers. I colored the dog and fussy cut him. The sentiment I cut out with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags. I added the fun bone clip to the sentiment and one of the fun extra images (the ball). I added the blue burlap ribbon. The "bone ribbon" was very difficult to work with. I tried to straighten it and finally decided it was never going to straighten so I cut it into pieces and then placed each piece under blocks to try to press them. It didn't help a lot so I used tape to tape them into place and then add the glue. I placed them on and then weighted them with blocks until they dried and then removed the tape.
My second card uses all three of the dog images Tracie sent. I used another of the sentiments. Used another one of the ribbons and also two brads (a bone and paw). I used the MFT Stitched Circle die to cut the dogs out and backed them with the same brown cardstock that I used for the base. I inked the fishtail flag with Fired Brick distress ink. I love the fun paw paper for the background.
Hope you'll check out the other Darlings and Divas cards. The links are in the right hand column.
EDIT: Yikes, I forgot about Tracie's extra challenge. We were supposed to include a picture of our favorite animal. I only had goldfish growing up so I never really got used to pets around the house. But my husband always had dogs growing up so once we were married and had kids he wanted them to grow up with a dog. We no longer have dogs around since the kids are grown but we had two wonderful dogs during those years: Rascal and White Socks. I looked for a long time and  could only find a pic of White Socks, who had 4 white paws (hence her name!)

I hope I don't have too many typos. I've come down with conjunctivitis and it's affecting my eyesight. So I'm not seeing the page very clearly tonight. I do have eye drops now for it so I hope it starts to improve.
I'm entering these challenges:
Thanks for stopping by today. I have to go to the lab today for blood tests but after that I think I am free. If my eyesight clears a little I hope to get some more craft time. Take care and make it a crafty weekend!
