Wishing You Well

Happy Wednesday evening. We are on the downside to the week. I am always glad when Friday is getting closer. Today was really strange weather-wise. We were very cloudy all day but in the afternoon the fog set in for a while. It looked like rain all evening but we haven't gotten any so far. I am looking for the sunshine to return.  I was busy at work and the time flew by. I also won 4 tickets from our local newspaper to see an Indianapolis Indians game. I haven't been to a ball game in years so it should be really fun!

My card tonight is for a co-worker who has been out all week. I just wanted him to know that I've been thinking about him and hope he's getting better and can return really soon. So here's what I came up with.

I had the image in my stash but it's from a Gina K set. I colored the image with Copics and Bics and sponged the background. I really wanted a sun in the picture. I didn't get a good delineation between the sea and sky. Guess I need to practice that one a bit. I added a sentiment from a set I won but it doesn't have any designation as to the company. I embossed the background with distressed stripes. It kind of reminded me of driftwood with all the irregular textures. I added the sunny ribbon and the Blue Glitter Glur dots.

I am entering these challenges:
That's about it for tonight! Be sure to stop back tomorrow when Doodle Pantry has their August release. You won;t want to miss it. I went out of my comfort zone a bit for this one but it was fun! Blessing!

Miss You

Cloudy today and a little rain this evening. I had a bunch of meetings today at work so other than sitting around and chatting I didn't get much done. Ha! But I do have a card for you!

This cute little image was in an image swap that I did a while ago. Looks like it's probably a Penny Black image. Basic Grey paper for the background and the sentiment is from Create with TLC. I added a little ribbon from Michaels. This card is headed for OWH.
I am entering:
Thanks for stopping today. Hope your day will be filled with sunshine!

Autumn in July?

The weather was gorgeous today but rain is supposed to move in tomorrow. And then we are supposed to warm up again. We were blessed to have such lovely weather for a few days. As we walked the neighborhood tonight someone had a fire burning in their fireplace. It really wasn't that cold in the evenings. So just for the cooler days here's a card for the weather.

So the background paper is from Basic Grey. The sentiment and image is from Paper Makeup Stamps. The extra leaves are stickers. Clean and simple. The image with the sentiment is colored with Copics.
I am entering this into the Monday Outlawz challenge of anything goes. I hope your week is off to a wonderful start and the rest is just as wonderful!

Craft Your Passion

Happy Monday! A new challenge is starting over at Craft Your Passion and Doodle Pantry is sponsoring this week's challenge. The challenge was to make something 3 dimensional. I always love a challenge like this one so off I went to find something I thought would be fun and useful. So I started my Christmas gifts by making this luminaria.

Some of the pictures are a little fuzzy. I don;t think the camera could decide what to hone in on. I used the Vintage Lamppost image from Doodle Pantry and printed it on vellum 4 times. I used the instructions from Splitcoast Stampers. I added a Martha Stewart punched border to the top. The designer paper is from Doodle Pantry Poinsettia stamp set. I decorated each of the sides with pre-made flowers and Spellbinder foliage die cuts.
This is what it looks like in the dark and all lit up! I think it turned out very pretty and already have plans to make a few more as Christmas gifts.

I hope you will join along with Craft Your Passion challenge this week. You could win some awesome goodies from Doodle Pantry.
I am entering this project in these challenges:

Washi Tape Flowers

Just a quick post tonight. Ha! It past my bedtime. I had this card sticking in my head this week. I saw something similar in Catherine Pooler's newsletter. So I thought I would try it.

I added  washi tape to the card base and cut the flowers with Spellbinder dies from an 4 by 5 and 1/4 piece of glossy card stock. I sponged the edges with purple ink and added the banner.  The sentiment is from a Gina K Birthday Greetings stamp set. I used some self-adhesive rhinestones for the center of the flowers. Really easy and fun to do. Hope you like it! I'm entering this card into Simon Says Stamp & Show challenge. Their theme is celebrate.
Thanks for stopping by. Tomorrow is my favorite day! And 5pm on Friday is my favorite time of the week. Have a super weekend.

Top the Charts

I'm taking a short break from the Christmas theme to go back to my birthday theme. LOL! Lots of birthdays this month and next month. I apologize for the photo. I took this one out at Baby Creek and I should have retaken it. It's too dark.

The background paper is Basic Grey. The image and sentiment are from Doodle Pantry from a set called Notebook Paper. The sentiment is from Create with TLC. This one is pure CAS. The sentiment is inked and popped up from the card. I am entering my card in Through the Craft Room Door challenge of anything goes.
The weather has cooled off considerably here. We turned off the air conditioning and opened the windows. It should be nice sleeping tonight. I took a nice walk today at lunch. Not too hot for a stroll outside. I could live in this kind of weather year round. Too bad I live in Indiana. LOL! Have a super Thursday and hope your week winds down to some time to relax on the weekend!

Winter Wishes

It's far from winter here. Today we had a tornado warning at work and they made all of us go to the basement. There are 8 floors in our building and probably 100 offices per floor so the basement was very crowded and hot. No tornado came through to my knowledge so they let us go back to our offices about 45 minutes later. Some excitement that I could have done without.
I am having fun doing Christmas in July. So another one of those tonight to share. I really like the way this one turned out.

The image is from Clearly Digi Stamps and the set is called Windowbox Wishes. The sentiment is from the same set and I added it the the windowbox. The curtains are paper pieced. The rest is colored with Copics. I tried to make the window glow. I actually printed this image twice so you just might be seeing another one of these soon. I just layered it up with some fun background paper.

Merry & Bright

I made a quick card this evening for a couple of challenges. Of course it's Christmas in July time so now is the time to start my Christmas cards.

I really like the way this one turned out. Isn't that digital image just adorable? It was a free image in Lady Anne's Progressive Christmas challenge. This month was a free month so you could join in by requesting the free digis. This image is from Digi Stamps4Joy. I stamped the sentiment. It's from a Gina K set called Blessed is the Season. The branch in the background is a Spellbinder's Foliage die. I added Ruby Slippers and Golden Rod Stickles to the image and the foliage.
So I am entering these challenges;
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope your weekend will be wonderful! We have company coming so I doubt that I get much crafting done. But we'll see how it goes.

Just a Note

Greeting! Happy Hump Day! We are winding our way toward the weekend. My favorite part of the week. Hot and steamy here this week. I'm pretty sure I could have fried an egg on the sidewalk today. My zucchini and cucumbers are liking this weather though. I picked 7 cucumbers and several zucchini today. If you have any great recipes I'd be happy to hear what they are.
Tonight I have the first in a series of cards. A couple of weeks ago Operation Write Home had a really nice tutorial of how to use 6 x 6 paper pack to make a number of cards. So last weekend I played with the tutorial and made a number of card fronts. So tonight when I needed a quick note card I used one of these card fronts.

The paper is from Basic Grey. The little image and sentiment is cut with Spellbinder's Ribbon Tags. I adhered ribbon to the tag and placed across the seam of the two papers. I embossed the top section with the Swiss Dots embossing folder for a little texture and added some faux stitching around the bottom section of the card. The image and sentiment are from Beccy's Place. Pretty simple but I like the colorful effect. Hope you will try the tutorial. Thanks for stopping today! Hope your week is winding down also!

Cherry Wishes

What's summer without a lots of great fruit! Doodle Pantry has some awesome new sets that are summer fruits. I was playing with some of them over the weekend. Here's one of the cards that I made.

I wasn't very good at the photography on this picture. I took the picture out at Baby Creek yesterday but I had the card positioned in the wrong direction so you can see the shadow. I'll be more careful next time. I used the Doodle Pantry set called Oranges and Cherries Color plus. The image and sentiment are from the same set. I embossed and oval in the middle of the card, colored and cut out the cherries and used a Simon Says folded tag to add the sentiment.

I am entering this card into these challenges:
Hope your week is off to a great start! Thanks for stopping by. Hope it's cooler wherever you are because it's definitely hot and steamy here.

Halleliyah!

Happy Sunday! I have one last card for the Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge. This time it's a Christmas card.

The image is from Digi Stamps 4 Joy and drawn by Jen Lee. The sentiment is from Gina K. The background is a Spellbinders die called Splendid Circles. The banner is from Simon Says called Tilted Banners. I added 3 rhinestones for embellishments.I am also entering this into Lady Anne's Progressive Christmas Challenge.

That's a wrap for this week. I had a chance to make some other fun cards over the weekend so there will be more this week. Make it a great one!

Poppin' In

Just popping in to say Hello today, literally! Hope your weekend is going well! Just a quick card today for the Tuesday Morning Sketchchallenge. It’s their 4th birthday and lots of good things going on over there. I used one of my favorite Doodle Pantry images for the card.

I just love this little turtle. I colored him with Copic markers. I cut him out with Spellbinders circles and used the circle dies to create the backing. The gingham piece is punched with a Martha Stewart border punch. I cut the sentiment in a pennant shape.  The image and sentiment are both from the Doodle Pantry set called Pansy Turtle. I added some gold Stickles for an accent. I really like this card! Thanks for stopping by!

Doodle Pantry Sponsorship

Today Doodle Pantry is sponsoring Sugar Creek Hollow challenge. The challenge is wheels and it must be vintage or chic. So I went the vintage route. Not that my card is vintage but my image certainly is!

It;s another birthday card. LOL! Are there any other kind this month. The background paper is just scraps from my box. The image and sentiment are from Doodle Pantry called Hot Rod Color set. I added some corners punched and a little gingham ribbon. I hope you'll join in the challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow. Have a wonderful weekend!

Have a Blast!

Yeah! Almost Friday! My favorite time of the week is Friday at 5p.m. LOL! I’ve been thinking about the Eagles all week after seeing them play last weekend. One of their songs says, “And I dream I’m on vacation, ‘cause I like the way it sounds. It’s the perfect occupation for me!” Oh yeah! One of these days.

I’m looking forward to a somewhat crafty weekend. Sunday we have to go to Indianapolis for a late lunch/early dinner and meet my son’s girlfriend’s parents. I’m looking forward to meeting them! Anne is a lovely girl.

My card tonight has an image from a special friend. The image and sentiment was a freebie from Glitterbabe.  I needed a birthday card for DH’s nephew. I think he will be 10 next week.

I used Glitterbabe’s image and sentiment; embossing folders: chevrons and star; Spellbinders inverted circles and classic circles; Clear Dollar Stamps tag dies; and Stickles for the fireworks.

I'm entering this card into these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you make it an amazing weekend!

What's One More Candle?

On the 4th of July I reorganized all my dies. Thanks to an idea I got from an online friend (hi Stef! aka Glitterbabe) I decided to use CD envelopes to hold my dies. I wanted my dies to be portable since we often spend weekends at our other property and I have to pack things up to take with me if I want to work on cards. So here is the system I worked out previously.
I used a binder with clear pages but the pages often looked like this.

The dies didn't always stick to the magnets I had on each page. So when Stef told me she was re-organizing her dies and using CD envelopes, I thought maybe I could make my system a little neater and more manageable. Now not all my dies fit into the CD envelopes so I had to use a few bigger envelopes to fit them all in.

Here's the dies that fit into the CD envelopes but I do have some bigger envelopes with border dies in them (not in the picture). So much more manageable and still easily transported. And they aren't falling out or down into the pages like the binder. I am so happy to have these cleaned up. A big thank you to Glitterbabe for sharing her idea!

So my card tonight is another birthday card. This one is for my SIL who is '29' again, I am sure! LOL! This card just reminds me of her.

I used the Stella sketch for this week from Bugaboo challenge. And I used a Bugaboo Stella stamp for my main image. I used a couple of paper scraps from my paper bin and some ric rac out of my ribbon box. And I added a candle on the side from one of my Simon Says Monthly kits as an embellishment. Just in case you can't read the sentiment (because my husband couldn't get it) it says "hell... What's 1 more friggen candle?" And the inside reads "... when you're still 29! Happy Birthday

I am entering this card into:
I hope your week is moving right along! I am busy at work so my days seem to go quickly. I like that; the weekend comes faster. LOL! Thanks for stopping by and hope you come back and visit again soon!

Sailing Away

Happy Monday! I had an awesome weekend! The Eagles' concert was absolutely wonderful! Those guys can really jam! We didn't get many really good pictures but here's one of the guys playing their hearts out.

We had a blast! Can't wait for the next tour! LOL! We were the first and second seats in row 13 in the middle aisle. Great seats for the show. And what a show it was!

Two cards for you tonight. More birthday since that's what I need a bunch of this month. The first up was done with a Gina K Summer Stamp Kit from several years ago. I used the sailboat to create this summer scene.

The sail is paper pieced. I colored the boat and sponged the background clouds. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. Just a really easy birthday card.

I am entering this card into these challenges:
My second card is yet another birthday card; big surprise! This one I sent to my DH's nephew for his birthday this week.
The image and sentiment is from the Saddle Up Color Plus stamp set by Doodle Pantry. I used one of the pre-colored  images in the set but they come in outline too so you can color them as you please. The background paper is Basic Grey. I used Spellbinders Circles to cut out the image and Clear Dollar Stamp dies to cut out the sentiment. I am entering this card in the Paper Makeup Stamp challenge of anything goes.

Don't forget to enter the Doodle Pantry challenge this month. You have until July 24th. The only requirement is to use a Doodle Pantry image and Laurie has some really nice freebies on the web site. And if you participate in the challenge you get a free set. This month it's the Holiday sentiment set. Just in time for those Christmas in July cards. And you could win an additional gift certificate! Hope to see your card in the challenge!

Well that's it for tonight. I have to go see if I can get some more birthday cards done. July is a never ending battle of birthdays! I hope your week is off to an awesome start! Thanks for stopping by and making me a part of your week! Much appreciated!

More Birthday

Happy 4th of July weekend! I hope you enjoyed your holiday, my US friends. We spent 4th of July quietly at Baby Creek. Our daughter and her boyfriend came out for dinner. We could hear a few fireworks but didn't see anything. Friday morning we drove to Cincinnati to visit with DH's parents. We are there right now but getting ready to move on. Our destination today is Louisville, KY. Tonight we have tickets to see the opening show of the Eagles' new tour. We saw them 5 years ago in Chicago. I can't wait! After the concert we'll stay overnight in Louisville and head back home tomorrow.

I do have a few crafty things in stock since I haven't been doing too much crafty this weekend. These are more of my one sheet wonder cards. Lots of birthdays (family and friends) in July. So these will come in handy!

This is retired Stampin' Up! designer paper and a retired Stampin' Up! image and sentiment.  stamped this at a friend's house and it was in my stash for quite a while. I colored it up and layered it for a quick birthday card!

And a second one with the same image but I added a little ribbon for a little embellishment. Definitely a CAS card.

Hope your weekend will be wonderful. It's rain, rain, rain here and at home too I am sure. We are predicted to have rain all week. If you can send some sunshine my way I'd really appreciate it!

Birthday Wishes for Tuesday Morning Sketches

Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge this week. The sketch this week is a fun one!

So using the Doodle Pantry set called Palo Verde, I used the sketch to make this card.

The designer paper is also from the set. The sentiment is embossed with black embossing powder. I cut the image with the Spellbinders circle die. I added some ribbon as an embellishment. Check out the Doodle Pantry post today to see all the wonderful projects the DP designers made. And I hoe you'll check out the challenge and join in!
