More from Beccy's Place

I am thrilled today to show you another new set from Beccy and Beccy's Place! I am privileged to be her guest designer this month. And what a "sweet"new set she has today. The set is called Christmas Candy. I mad e double easel card with this new set.

The candy canes and peppermints are in this new set as is the "sweet" word. The longer sentiment is not in the set. I used Spellbinder ovals and lacy ovals to cut and back the sentiments. I fussy cut each of the images. Part of the base is embossed with the Tartan embossing folder. And I found some candy cane ribbon in my stash. This is my first double easel card. It was fun but tricky. I got the directions of the pieces wrong at first. But it worked out okay.
Please check out all the wonderful projects from the entire design team over at Beccy's Place.

I am entering this card into these challenges:
Thanks for stopping by. We have lots going on this week. Hoping to get some crafting time after Christmas. Wishing you all Christmas blessings. Safe travels and good health to you all.

Z Folds

So I think I've already said how I panicked last weekend when I found I needed 15more Christmas cards. I've already vowed to start in January next year to make sure I have enough. And my other resolution is make sure I do the inside at the same time. I always thought it was good to leave the inside empty so you could customize when it was needed. But I am usually in a hurry and wish I had the inside done so I am going to try to accommodate that notion in 2014. So the cards tonight were made pretty quickly. I made 6 of these but I only got a picture of 5 of them. LOL! I was addressing and sending too quickly.

These are Z fold cards and I used the same image and sentiment on each of them. The stocking image and sentiment was a freebie from Paper Crafting World. I cut the with Spellbinders rectangles, both the image and the backing. I just used scraps of paper that I had in my Christmas folder so this got rid of lots of my scraps. I am  entering these cards in:

That's it for tonight! Thanks for stopping by. Looking forward to the weekend. Hope you are too.

Piles of Fun

I haven't been very good at blogging lately. I am way behind on getting ready for Christmas so I've been working every evening after work to get some presents finished. I wrote out Christmas cards over the weekend and realized I was 15 cards short. So I had to really get moving on Christmas cards. You'll see more of those later this week. Tonight I needed a swap card. The swap was blue and white.

The image and sentiment is from Doodle Pantry called Snowman Pileup. I just love the image. I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch for the layout. The designer paper is K & Company Citronella. I loved the paper because it reminded me of a blustery snow storm. All the blue card stock is from my scrap folder.  I'm entering this card in these challenges:

Hope your week is going well and your Christmas preparations are going smoothly. Thanks for stopping by!

Spiderman

Yesterday I showed you the card I made for the little girl in the family that our department at work adopted for Christmas. Tonight I have the little boy's Christmas card. His favorite is Spiderman.

I had this printable Spiderman that you could decoupage so Spiderman is actually pop dotted in several levels, his legs being the highest level. I made the sentiment on my computer and punched it out with an ekSuccess punch. I added a banner across the top corner. The flags are from a stamps set from Gina K. The background paper is from the Paper Studio. I used the sketch from Friday Mashup. I was too late to enter the challenge but I liked the sketch. I am entering this into Outlawz Monday challenge: favorite movie, TV or book. This isn't quite my favorite but it is our adopted little boy's favorite. Thanks for stopping by tonight. We have another storm headed our way. I hope your weather is what you want it to be.

Dora the Explorer

Happy Tuesday! The week is really moving slowly. At work, our department adopted a family for Christmas. The family has twin three year olds: one girl and one boy. I volunteered to make them Christmas cards to go with the presents that we bought. The girl's favorite is Dora the Explorer. So that's what I used to make the card.

I found some free clip art on the web to use. I used the sketch from the Outlawz sketch challenge. I embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder and then lined the sentiment with gold Stickles. I added the pink gems since Dora wears pink so much. Pretty easy! I am entering these challenges:

Tomoorw I'll show you the card I made the little boy. I was thrilled the way both the cards came out and my co-workers were impressed too.
So how's your weather? Yikes but winter has struck early around here. We had the foot of snow last weekend. Monday morning school was cancelled because of an ice storm. This morning they had a two hour delay because of the several inches of additional snow we had over night. Tomorrow is supposed to be very cold and I wouldn't doubt that we don;t have another school delay. And we have yet another storm headed our way on Friday. I think I am going to be tired of winter before Christmas gets here. Oh well. Hope you weather is better. Thanks for stopping by. Stay warm out there!

Guest Designer

For the month of December I am honored to be a guest designer for Beccy's Place. Today Beccy is releasing a gorgeous new set of poinsettias. Here is the card that I made with the set.

The image and sentiment come with the set. I love d the verse and decided to make it the focal point of the card. The spray of three poinsettias are the colored version. I fussy cut the flowers. The sentiment is cut with Spellbinders Ovals. I inked the inside with Certainly Celery ink and the outside with Pink Passion. I added Golden Rodd Stickles to the centers of the flowers and a row of pearls that I colored with Copic markers to match the poinsettias.

Here is the inside of the card. I mimicked the outside of the card with the designer paper and shapes. This sentiment is not from the set. I just think this turned out beautifully! I love Beccy's images. Please check out the lovely projects from the rest of the design team over at Beccy's blog.
I am entering these challenges:

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you will visit Beccy's Place and check out all the wonderful digital stamps she has to offer. Make it  a great day!

Playing Time

We had a little more snow this morning but not a lot. We are supposed to get freezing rain this evening. I am hoping that it doesn't happen. I would take snow any day over the freezing rain. With the weather being so contrary outside I got a chance to make 2 cards today. The first is a birthday card for my niece. She lives in North Carolina and probably seldom sees snow so I thought I would share some of our snow with her. Heehee!

So the snowman image is from a Stampin' Up! set called Flaky Friends. I embossed the image with black embossing powder and colored with Copics. I made the background blending Bashful Blue, Morning Sky and Paris Dusk and toward the bottom I used London Fog. I then punched and glued the snowflakes and then added the Diamond Stickles. I also dotted the Diamond Stickles around the background also. The sentiment is from Gina K Birthday Greetings. I am entering this into these challenges:
Simon Says challenge: make your own background (I had to use the main blog url since the one for the challenge didn't seem to be working.)
Sentimental Sunday challenge: Snowman

My second card is one I've been thinking about for a while. I had printed the image and sentiment out but hadn't gotten time to put it together.
The boot image is from Doodle Pantry and the sentiment is from Create with TLC. The sentiment is a bit hard to read but it says: "It's not easy being a COWGIRL ... but if the boots fit..." I thought they went together perfectly. I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I used the star embossing folder on the gold foil card stock and the scallop punch to make the border on the other piece of gold foil card stock. The sentiment is cut from a die from Clear Dollar stamps and blended with Desert Sand ink. I cut the stars and then used faux stitching around the edges. The image is cut with Spellbinders Circle die and backed with the scalloped circle die. I am entering these challenges:
That's it for today. I think I really need the next 2 weeks off to get ready for Christmas. We did manage to get all the decorations out of the attic today. Now to go through it all. Make this an amazing week. I know mine will be busy. I have a number of evening commitments this week. Tis the season! Thanks for stopping by. Let me know what you think of my cards today. Big hugs to you!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Our foot of snow has put me into the Christmas spirit. I may not be that way tomorrow when the new storm hits us. More snow and freezing rain. Guess I'll be staying in. We did get out today to do a little shopping today. The sunshine helped to melt a lot of excess snow on the roadways.
I made  a few Christmas cards. Tomorrow I intend to start writing them out so I can get them out. Then I'll see whether I have enough of them made.

This is the other card that I made at my Copic class. The images are from Lawn Fawn. I am not sure where the sentiment is from. The door is paper pieced. I free handed the hills in the background and added Stickles to the edges. The gumdrop is covered in glossy accents and sprinkled with glitter. The house top has a special white edge for snow and glossy accents on the red/green eaves. I added the patterned paper and the twine. The gingerbread house is popped off the card. I really like this one. I am entering this card into the Outlawz Thursday challenge.

A second card I made was for a swap.
The tree is a die cut from Memory Box. I added some green Stickles. The geometric shapes are from a stamps set called Happy Hexagons by Fresh Squeezed Stamps. I added some Stickles into the shapes also. The sentiment is from Gina K. I am entering this card into these challenges:

Hope your Christmas preparations are coming along. I do wish I was further along but it always comes together. Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Oh the weather outside is frightful! About a foot of snow frightful. Tom shoveled four inches off the driveway this morning after I left for work. My boss arrived after 8am and told us we could leave when we felt comfortable going home. I finally left work at 10am and then worked the rest of my day from home. It snowed all day long and finally quit about 7pm this evening. These pictures were taken this afternoon so this isn't the total snowfall.

This picture is taken out my front door and the next weekend is off our deck in the back yard.

I love to watch snow fall and see the gorgeous scenery covered in white. But I prefer not to have to drive in it. Hopefully by tomorrow the roads will be clearer. I need to do some grocery shopping.

I needed another quick birthday card for a coworker. So this is what I came up with quickly last night.
The cupcake was from my stash and I can't seem to find it in my files to know where I got it. The sentiment was a birthday gift from my buddy, Glitterbabe and I think it was a Stampin' Up! stamp. I used a snowflake embossing folder (since the weather forecast was calling for snow) and a Martha Stewart punch. Then added some twine and a few self-adhesive gems. I am entering this card into the Seize the Birthday challenge.
If you are in the path of this storm I hope you can stay put for the weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

Candy Cane Christmas

Howdy! How is the weather in your neck of the woods? Last night we had a winter storm warning and this morning they were forecasting 5-7 inches by Friday evening. It wasn't supposed to start until about 10pm tonight. This afternoon all that changed. By the time I left work it was raining ice pellets. And then they upgraded the total to up to a foot of snow. With another storm headed our way for Sunday. Sounds like we'll be shoveling for a while. I hate the ice and really don't mind the snow. People forget how to drive in snow and ice. At least I go to work really early and most people won't be out yet. LOL!
My card tonight is a card that I made last night at a Copic class I went to at our local scrapbook store. We all had a great time.

I didn't catch what company the image was from since our instructor did all the stamping. The red was colored with R27 and R29 and the green was YG06 and YG09. Lots of layers on this. Can you see the sparkle on the candy cane? It has glossy accents on it and fine glitter. The candy cane and bow are popped up with pop dots. I am entering this card in these challenges:

I just checked outside. We are "all white" as my hubby would say. And the snow is coming down. I am just hoping that the power doesn't go out. If you are experiencing the nasty weather, please stay safe and warm. Thanks for stopping by!

Hedgehog Birthday

I've been a lazy blogger this week. I haven't had a lot of time to craft but I have a few cards that I have finished. The weather was nice today. Warm but cloudy and a bit rainy. It may be our last day of nice weather. Tomorrow night we have a winter storm watch. We are supposed to get more than a half of foot of snow. And some sleet and ice. I really don't mind the snow but I really dislike the ice. We'll see how good the weatherman can predict this.
I did a little decorating for Christmas but I need something for my office. I am hoping that I can find something in the boxes upstairs.
So my card tonight is a birthday card for a coworker. Very simple.
The hedgehog and the brick background are Penny Black. I colored the hedgie with Copics. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and embossed with black embossing powder. I am entering this card in the Hiding in My Craftroom challenge.
Hope your week is going well. If you are in the path of the storm stay safe and warm. Take care wherever you are.

Happy 90th

We have returned from Florida and a successful move. The drive down with the trailer was arduous. While we were filling the trailer we realized it had a flat tire. Of course U-Haul was closed so Tom pumped it up hoping it would hold air and it did pretty well. It rained the entire day during the drive and on three occasions we had traffic jams for accidents; some of them as long as an hour. So after leaving about 7am we finally arrived about 10:45pm. Loooong day! After arriving we had to unload so we would have something to sleep on. So most of his stuff went into his garage and we moved the couch to his apartment so we could sleep on it. Saturday we moved things in and put them away and shopped for things he needed including new mattresses. While we still had the U-Haul we picked up his mattresses to save the delivery fee and then turned in the U-Haul. Dinner that night was at The Fish House on the bay. Sunday we visited the Naval Aviation Museum. What a wonderful museum and it's free. We also went up into the lighthouse. We could see the Blue Angel jets on the runway from the lighthouse as well as mile of coastline. And then we had dinner at Flounders and saw the sunset on the beach. But we didn't stay long because it was cold and windy. It never got above 50 while we were there and there was a constant cold wind. Needless to say there was no swimming or shorts. We drove home on Monday. Our plan had been to stay in Nashville, TN and see a show at the Opry but they were closed on Monday so we just continued on home. Started at 7:30 am and made it home by 8pm. Much better than the trip down but still a long day. Glad to be home. I did go back to work today for one day but now I am off until next Tuesday with another trip on the horizon to see Tom's family this weekend.

My card tonight is for a family celebration this weekend. Tom's aunt will be celebrating her 90th birthday in December and we are going to a party for her on Sunday. So this is the card I made for the occasion.

The image and designer paper is from Doodle Pantry. I used Spellbinders Labels 13 for the Happy 90th tag. And I added the red Stickles around the Label and into some of the background flowers. And the red ribbon with a knot completes the card. The 90 is cut from a Cuttlebug die that probably came with my Cuttlebug machine. I am entering these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today. It didn't make it above freezing today here so I hope it's warmer where you are. To all my U.S. friends I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. Our day will be quiet; just Tom and I and I'll be thinking about all the things I am thankful for. I am so blessed! I hope you are too.

Packing and Giving Thanks!

We are busy packing up our son's stuff as we need to move him to Florida this weekend. Although he said he would have it packed and moved to the garage before he left last week that didn't really happen. There is still plenty to do. So we've spent our evening getting things gathered and boxed. I am giving thanks that he found a job that he's excited about and he seems to like the area where he's settling in. We are blessed!
I did stop long enough to make a card this evening.

The adorable bunny image is from Beary Wishes and the sentiment is from Michelle Perkett. The designer paper is Basic Grey, one of my favorites. I layered a couple of black layers to make the colors pop. The image and sentiment is colored with Copics. I added an orange ribbon. I am entering these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope your week is off to a wonderful start.

Santa is Coming to Town

Happy stormy Sunday! Tornado sirens went off twice this afternoon. We've had almost 2inches of rain in the last 24 hours. I don't know that there was any damage in the area. I hope your weather has been better today.
My youngest left on Friday morning to move to Florida for a new job. So for the first time in our lives we find ourselves as empty nesters. We spent most of the weekend out at Baby Creek but I returned home this morning to a very empty house. While I got a lot of house work done it was too quiet. I miss him already! But Steve found an apartment in Florida and he'll be ready for us next weekend when Tom and I move all of his stuff. Next weekend will be lots of heavy lifting and driving.
Santa is coming to town; lots faster than I would like. And I am no where near ready for it. But here is another Christmas card I made.
Santa is on a tag or bookmark that's tucked behind the sentiment. The image is from DigiStamps4Joy oops Fred She Said. The sentiment is from a defuncted stamp company. I embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder. The designer paper is from Doodle Pantry. I used some faux stitching on the tag and some doodling on the right edge of the card. Santa has lots of sparkle from Diamond Stickles. Here's a better pic of Santa.
I am entering these challenges:
I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I have a four day work week this week as we'll be leaving for Florida. Make it a super week! Happy crafting!

Seal Love

Happy Hump Day! I love the down side to the week. It means we are coming closer to the weekend. Since I am living for the weekends I feel like it's time to retire. Now if I could only convince my DH of that! LOL!
Very chilly here today but we did have sunshine which brightens my spirits. After working 5 years in a closet-like area, I finally have a window (I am blessed!). The sun heats up my office very nicely which is so opposite of what I had last year at this time. I wore my coat most of the day and sat with a blanket wrapped around my legs. We weren't allowed to have heaters by our desks.
My card tonight is one that I really like. It comes from a very special offer from Doodle Pantry to help Operation Write Home. Two of my favorite crafty places in blogland!

So my card uses the sketch this week from Operation Write Home. And with this sketch, Doodle Pantry has a special offer for two sets of digital stamps for $5 and 70% of the proceeds go to OWH. The sets are perfect for OWH cards so I couldn't pass them up. The offer is good through November 30th so click the link and check it out. Well worth the $5 for all the goodies you receive. So I combined one of the images from one set with a sentiment from the second set. I embossed the background piece with a tartan embossing folder. I added twine for an accent and then also used Modge Podge Dimensional gloss to the hearts. The seal image is popped up from the card. I am entering these challenges:
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll help out OWH with their fund raiser. It's such a worthy cause. Take care and stay warm and dry!

Howdy!

We had a dusting of snow last night, way too early for my comfort. The prediction is for a bad winter so maybe this is an omen starting with the snow so early. I sure hope not since I am usually tired of winter by January 1st and ready for spring. LOL! I had to travel to Indianapolis today for work. We were training new people in Indy. I was glad the snow didn't prevent us from going. I just prefer to get those things over with especially since all the planning was complete.
So on to my card for tonight.
I used a Bugaboo image and sentiment. The embossing folder I used in the background is Distressed Stripes and I embossed Coordinations paper which I then sanded to get the multi-colored effect. I inked the edges with of the image and sentiment. The flourish is from MFT and I added the ribbon to go with the sketch I used. I am entering these challenges:
I was supposed to have gone to a Copics class tonight but it got cancelled since not enough people signed up. Secretly I was kind of glad since I am tired from the trip to Indy and needed to catch up on email after being away from my computer all day. I do love getting the blog entries by email but if you go away for the day they really pile up. Hope your week is moving along. Happy Hump Day tomorrow!  And thanks for stopping by!

Glittery White Christmas

Happy Veteran's Day! God bless all the veterans and active duty heroes! They are the reason that I support OWH. I sent special messages to all my family members who are veterans. God bless them all!
Tonight I have a Christmas card. Just like our weather forecast. We have that "s" word in our forecast. I am not ready for it. It's just too early for snow. I usually like to use color but this one is white on white!

I pulled the sentiment from my stash and used a ribbon punch on the bottom of the oval cut with my Coluzzle. I hadn't had that out in a very long time. I thread some white satin ribbon through. I embossed the background with the Cuttlebig Snow embossing folder and then punched some snowflakes that I coated with Sparkling Stickles. The card really sparkles in real life but the photo doesn't do it justice. I really like this one. I am entering these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today! I am feeling a bit better tonight. My ear is still stuffed but I keep hoping it willget better. Make it an awesome week!

More Birthday and a Christmas

Happy Sunday! Are you watching football today? My Colts are playing but losing at the moment. Go Colts! The weather is beautiful here. A bit chilly but bright sunshine. A wonderful November day. I was hoping to get some Christmas cards done today So far I have one completed. And a birthday card from yesterday to show y'all! First up the birthday.

I used the Stella sketch at Bugaboo.  The image is from Bugaboo and colored with Bic markers. The sentiment is from Gina K Birthday Greetings. I used the Chevron embossing folder to give texture to the card. I used the Spellbinder Picot Edged Circles. The border is from Martha Stewart. The plaid paper is from MyMemories. I am entering these challenges:

My second card is a Christmas card:
I used the Spellbinder Labels Thirteen set to make a stacked frame. I used all scraps to make the nested frame. The sentiment is from a now defunct stamp company, Little Paper Shop. The candle is an fussy-cut image from Crafting with Jack . The background paper is from Doodle Pantry. I am entering this card into these challenges:
Thanks for stopping by. It looks like my Colts are going to lose. Bummer! Hope your weekend was fabulous and you have a great start to your week. My week is shaping up to be very busy. I am hoping to start feeling better but so far not much getting better. Take care!

Fall Birthday Wishes

Happy Saturday evening! Not very often that I post on the weekends but our plans were altered at the last minute this weekend. We were going to pour the concrete floor in the barn at Baby Creek. But the concrete was cancelled because they didn't have enough jobs to make it worthwhile to operate on Saturday. So rather than go out and stay at Baby Creek I decided to stay at home. I've been working on birthday cards today to catch up for November.

This afternoon I watched a video over at Jennifer McGuire's blog. I love Jennifer's blog. She just has so many wonderful ideas for making your cards really special. The video I watched was how to emboss the frame that you see in my card. I just love how easy it is to make a frame on the card. I used a Doodle Pantry pre-colored fall panda image and inked the edges of the Spellbinders circle die cut. The frame is embossed Labels Thirteen. Then I just punched some corner pieces and added the sentiment from Gina K Birthday Greetings. Just an easy to make card.
I'm entering these challenges:

For those who follow my blog, I wanted to let you know about my doctor's visit on Friday. My hearing has not returned yet but he said that the upper respiratory infection has caused fluid to build up in my Eustachian tube and the fluid is causing the hearing loss. So supposedly if we get rid of the fluid my hearing will return. So I am on new medication now and if nothing changes in the next three weeks, he may consider putting tubes in my ears. He said that's unusual for an adult but a possibility. So the saga continues. The meds today made me feel tired all day but hopefully it will make the fluid drain.

Hope your weekend is awesome! I am thrilled to be crafting again!

It's a Fairy Tale

Happy Thursday! One more day to the work week and it'll be the weekend! Tomorrow is my doctor's appointment and I am really looking forward to getting it over with; hoping he can help me hear again. It seems like this week has gone on forever! So last night I got a bit of time to play and finished the card up this evening. My son's girl friend asked me to make her a wedding card with the colors cream and purple. The picture makes this look more blue but it really is a deep purple color and I am please with the way it turned out.

The flowers look purple but the Spellbinders scalloped oval and the backing piece look blue in the picture. And the groom's vest and tie are also purple but next to the gray jacket they just look gray in the picture. It looks much better in real life. The bride and groom image is from Beccy's Place. I colored it with Copics. The background paper is Basic Grey Wisteria. The flourish is My Favorite Things Die-namic. The flowers are from Michael's $1 bin. I added a few pearls and some purple self-adhesive rhinestones.

This is the inside of the card. Using the same paper as the outside and adding a sentiment from Stampin' Up! with more pearls and rhinestones. I am entering these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by for a visit. Hope you are headed for a relaxing weekend. We'll be pouring concrete in the barn this weekend if all goes well. And I am hoping for some crafty time too! Have a wonderful Friday!

Oops!

Just a quick one tonight. I am already passed my bedtime. Made this card for my nephew. I missed his birthday last week when I was sick. So I hope he is still talking to me. LOL!
The image is from a Gina K set called Timeless Treasures by Theresa Momber and the sentiment is from a Gina K set called Birthday Greetings. I used a sketch from the Outlawz Wednesday challenge. I added some faux stitching, ribbon and brads.
Hope you had a great start to your week. Thanks for stopping by.

Mousey Birthday

Happy Sunday! And Happy November! I can hardly believe that it's November already. On Friday I'll finally get to see the ENT and find out it my hearing loss is permanent or if they'll be able to help me in some way.  Being sick has put me behind in getting out my birthday cards. I was hoping to get more time to craft this weekend but only got one card put together. Here's a birthday card for a birthday this week.

The image is from a Penny Black set called Stuck on You. I masked the mouse off so that I could stamp the balloon multiple times. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set called It's Your Day. I used Spellbinders Triple Scallop border along the edges. Pretty clean and simple and I tried to use fall colors. On the inside I used the Triple Scallop border also. Colored with Copic markers. I used the sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping. Also entering these challenges:
The Stamp Boutique: use fall colors
That's it for today. Hope you had a wonderful weekend. They definitely go way to fast. Make it a great week ahead!

Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween! The day is here but our fun was cancelled because of weather. Trick or treat in our area will be tomorrow night. We are under storm and tornado watches so the city and county decided to postpone the kids' fun. But I have a couple of Halloween projects that I did before I got sick and never showed on my blog so I decided this would be the perfect time.
I made a number of Halloween cards but never sent them out so I think I'll be sending them over the weekend a little belatedly. This is a really CAS card. A little designer paper, a cute little sentiment and a bit of ribbon. Pretty fast and easy.
I'm entering these challenges:

My other project was the little gifts that I gave my co-workers today.
I made 16 of these little owls for my co-workers. I used scrap paper from my stash and edged it with a scalloped punch for the feathers. Punched the eye balls and added the little beak. Inside was a Ghirdelli candy because everyone likes chocolate. I'm entering these challenges:
Hope your Halloween was frightfully fun! Thanks for stopping by and checking in with me today!
Hugs,

Fore!

Happy Hump Day! I am so glad to be on the down side of the week. I wish I had a bunch of time off work and I would stay at home in bed for a while. But I don't, so I keep trying to make it through the days. By the time I get home my head is swimming. I'm not sure I am feeling any better and I am certainly more dizzy than I was before. Still no hearing in my left ear. My ENT appointment isn't until November 8th.

But God is so good! Today we found out that Steve, my youngest, has a job in Pensacola, FL, starting in a few short weeks. So we'll have to pack him up and move him down there. He's really excited! And that means we'll suddenly be empty nesters. I'm not sure how I'll feel about that.

Over the last few nights I managed to make a card for my BIL's birthday this weekend. I've missed several birthday's over the last few weeks so I'm going to have to do some belated cards this weekend. This isn't my typical card. Maybe it reflects my mood or how I am feeling. I usually like colorful cards but this is what I came up with.

My BIL is a golfer and Create with TLC had this sentiment for free the other day. So I knew I had to use it for his card. I haven't a clue why I went with black and white. I found the golfer image on the web as clip art. I used my Scor-Pal to make the background embossing and swiped it with a black ink pad. I cut the image with Spellbinders circle die and the sentiment is punched with an ek Success punch. I backed them both with black. I used faux stitching around the image and part of the sentiment and then used black Stickles to embellish the sentiment.

Update

I am amazed that it's been 10 days since I've posted. It's been quite a week and then some. Last Thursday I went to the doctor to have wax removed from my ear because I couldn't hear well. They removed it but my hearing didn't return. I returned on Friday and they said I had an ear and sinus infection and started antibiotics. It's been a week and I'm certainly not any better and maybe worse. So off to the doctor I went again tonight. They can't see my ear drum because of the infection so I need to see an ENT next week and in the meantime I'm on more powerful antibiotics along with 3 other meds. Not my idea of fun. And the reason for the ENT is that he was afraid there was a hole in my eardrum but he couldn't be sure. So for the last week I've had no motivation and just sat when I got home from work. And I've been going to bed about 9pm; several hours earlier than usual.

So that's my problem for the week. Hope your week has been lots better and I'm hoping this medication kicks in soon so I can get back to something creative. Have a wonderful weekend!

Season's Greetings

Happy Tuesday! Tonight I wanted to work on the Lady Anne's Progressive Christmas Challenge that I play along with. If you play each month you get  free digis to play with the next month. This month we are playing with digital stamps from DigiStamps4Joy.

I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder called Honeycomb and sponged lightly over the top with red ink.I adhered two sections of ribbon to the honeycomb background. Using Spellbinders to cut out the image and sponged with Dandelion ink. I attached a cute little metal embellishment that I found at Target. I am entering these challenges:
Outlawz Saturday challenge: primary color begins with first letter of your first name (Mine was kind of tough. I had to search the Internet to find a color that began with D and I came up with Dandelion and even had Dandelion ink to use. LOL!)
So this is a bit different than I normally make as a Christmas card but it's kind of cute. I do like those metal embellishments I found at Target. I'll have to use them more often. We are getting a little rain today. Not much but the weather is supposed to be cooler the rest of the week. It may be cool enough to turn the heat on. But I have to convince my hubby of that first. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you'll leave me a comment and come back again soon.

Time for a Birthday

Happy Monday night! I am trying to cheer on the Colts as I write this post. They need some help tonight. But they aren't out of the game. I'd rather they play on Sunday because it's tough to work the next day after staying up too late. And I am usually to wound up after the game to sleep. What's a girl to do! My card tonight is another birthday card for a nephew. I always have to think about masculine cards.

The image and sentiment is from Doodle Pantry set called Old Watch. I used several Spellbinders dies: standard circles, scalloped ovals and standard ovals. The border was punched with an ek Success punch and then cut in half. I did some faux stitching on the oval and circle. I am entering these challanges:

Little Girl Birthday

Happy Sunday evening! We had a nice visit with Tom's parents this weekend and got some of their job list accomplished. I am behind getting me family birthday cards out. My card today is for my nephew's little girl. I was looking for a princess but I found this little girl instead and thought she was cute!

The little girl image was a freebie from Color Ink. I colored her with a mixture of Copic and Bic markers and fussy cut and popped her up. The Spellbinder Pendant is called Fair Isle. I added some pink self-adhesive rhinestones. The background was embossed with my Scor Pal. Because the size is 6X6 I didn't have an embossing folder that would work well. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! and punched with an EK Success punch. I added the rhinestones there also. The paper is all scraps from my stash. I hope little Mallory likes this card. I am entering this card into these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you've had an awesome weekend and looking forward to a productive week!

Fall Colors

Welcome to all my friends and followers!Or you may be both! And I am thankful for that. One more day to the weekend. I am thankful for that too. I am looking forward to the weekend. We are going to make a quick trip to Cincinnati to visit my hubby's parents and do some jobs and then back home so I am hoping to get a little crafty time in. My card tonight reflect the season. My first card I was practicing with my Copics again.

The background stamp is from Penny Black. I added a little designer paper and some Copic colored pumpkins with a sentiment and there's an easy peasy card! Oops I forgot that I added the little twine behind the pumpkin to simulate a little vine. There you have it. I am entering this card into
Kaboodle Doodles challenge which is pumpkins.

My second card tonight is a Halloween card.
Isn't this "sweet"? I love the candy corn. The card stock is textured so it has a very fun look to it. Another easy card. I am entering these challenges with this card:

That's all I have for tonight. Hope the beginning of your weekend is awesome. Relax and craft. Thanks for stopping by.

It's Fall!

Our temperatures have really taken a dip lately. I've had to close the windows and many of my co-workers are talking about turning on their heat. We haven't done that yet. My hubby will wait until the very last second for that one but we have had a fire in the fireplace on several occasions. I like the toastiness of a fire. So I went with a fall theme tonight on my card.

I was practicing with my Copic markers. The jacket is paper pieced but I colored the rest of the cute little girl from MFT. I used walnut distress ink on all the edges and on the top of the corn stalks. I'm not sure where the patterned paper is from. The corn stalks were die cut but I hand cut the girl and the banner. The added twine was for a little embellishment. I am entering these challenges:

Simon Says challenge: use a rubber or clear stamp

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card tonight. Hope your week is going well and you are ready to relax on the weekend.
