This form of advertising utilizes text, geographical maps, and images such as photographs, logos, icons and pictures.

Advertisement Placement
Strategic advertisement placement is particularly important. One well-placed banner can earn much more than three poorly displayed banners. The idea is to make full use of these advertisements and present them in strategic locations within your webpage.

It is advised to have a balanced mix of advertisements placed in your webpage. For example, you can have sidebar banners put together with inline advertisements on a page. Remember that it turns readers off if too many advertisements are placed on a single page. Spread them out, mix them up a little. Most important of all, always ensure that you have more content than advertisements!

Types of Advertisements
There are many types of advertisements available on the web, such as billboards, skyscrapers and sidebar banners. Many advertising companies are coming up with animated banners, such as the ones created with Macromedia Flash. Flash banners are effective becase they catch the attention of your site visitors. Bear in mind, though, that too many of them on a webpage is going to prolong loading speeds. My advice is to use flash advertisements in moderation. Combine different advertisements and use a little of all types.
