Halloween Colors Corrosive Challenge #209

I don't know what's going on in your neck of the woods but here is Michigan we are having the most perfect weather EVER. The trees are turning colors and losing their leaves and everything is beyond beautiful. The temperatures are in the upper 70's and we haven't had rain for days. I've been in a super crafty mood lately and have tons of images colored and ready for use. At the Corrosive Challenge we have another wonderful challenge in store for you. Happy Birthday

Believe it or not this card is not for any of my design teams. It's a card I made "just because." More and more I'm using sketches and loved the sketch I used for this one. It's from The Pink Elephant and I'm getting my card entered just under the wire!

Another Fitztown Challenge

A new challenge started at Fitztown on Monday and I have been tasked with providing some inspiration today. The challenge is  "Animal"

I chose to use "Fish 4" as my inspiration. I colored it with Copics and highlighted it with Stickles "Diamond Ice" glitter glue. I cut the image with a My Favorite Things "Pierced Circle" die. Using a paper from my stash, I highlighted it too with Stickles and added a couple of Jolees stickers to finish off my underwater delight. The sentiment is from my favorite online sentiment shop Create with TLC. The sentiment was cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities pennant die. I added a spritz of "Perfect Pearls Mist" that is extremely impressive in person and used my 1/2" Crop A Dile "Corner Chomper" as a final touch. Come and Get It and Fitztown

I'm still having a coloring frenzy and was delighted to be asked to create a card for Fitztown designs sponsorship of Come and Get It challenges. The challenge theme is Use 3 of something I've used this as an opportunity to get an early start on Christmas cards! Using Fitztown's Winter 10 image, I colored it with Copic markers and die cut and embossed with a Spellbinders Nestabilities Oval. I highlighted the image with 3 bling stars. Next I used a small cut of Recollections Christmas from my stash and embossed it with a Sizzix Christmas ornaments embossing folder. I also cut a small pennant out of glitter paper with a Dienamics Fishtail Flags Stax die. I used Stickles glitter glue to highlight the "berries" on the background paper. For the final finishing touch I used Frantic Stamper's new Petite Poinsettia die to cut and assemble the three gorgeous flowers and highlight the centers with round bling. I just love this card but am also thrilled that it gave me an opportunity to get the early start on Christmas cards that I've never been able to do in the past!

I've been having one great crafty time. I've colored so many images lately just to practice my technique and to have images that are ready to go. I'm also having a great time with sketches. In the past I've struggled with sketches but now I get it. I love sentiments. Once I find one I like I then try to imagine an image that will work well with it. Next I choose sketch and a 6 x 6 paper pack, and voila'!

I love, love, love this card. When I saw this sentiment I immediately knew this image and no other would work. The image is from Jackson Expressions. I colored it with Copic markers and cut with a Dienamics Round Stitched die. I started with the sketch from the Digi Sketch Challenge. The base is Kraft cardstock. To keep with the "stitched theme," using my sewing machine, I stitched around each of the base elements. The papers American Crafts Dots and Strips and My Mind's Eye "In Bloom" paper pad. The sentiment was cut with Frantic Stampers "ticket" die set. The flowers are from my stash two of which I cut using the Close to My Heart Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. I used Tim Holtz "Vintage Photo" distress ink to add a vintage feel. Finally I added foam dots and bling but in my world, no card is complete without it!

Fitztown "Fall Colors" Challenge

I hope everyone is having super crafty days and nights because I know I am. I'm here today to invite to the Fitztown design challenge for the next fortnight. It's that time again and what better way to celebrate than by encouraging you all to design a project using the colors of Fall. That's right. Our theme is

"Fall Colors"

Here in Michigan the change in the trees and shrubbery is already happening and is as beautiful as always. Inspiration is everywhere. Be sure to visit the Fitztown blog for more inspiration and to enter your own creation.

I started my creation with a Kraft cardstock base. I chose the Fitztown town image Cameo 14. I colored it with Copics and added highlights with a glitter pen and a miniature piece of bling on here hair butterfly. I used papers from my stash along with a Wilton gold doily, an Anna Griffin embossing folder and Spellbinders Oval Nestabilities and pennant die cuts. The sentiment is from the Unity Stamp  Company. Finally I added rhinestone bling in a Fall orange color and foam dots. I used the "Inspired by Stamping" sketch below as inspiration.

Corrosive Challenge #208 - Fall/Autumn

Whether we like it or not, Fall is on the way. It seems Summer was just a few weeks ago but it's now long gone. At the Corrosive Challenge, trailblazers that we are, we're embracing Fall and all it has to offer. Think of how gorgeous everything is with the beautiful color changes of foliage. You Hold the Key

I saw this Die Cuttin Divas sketch and immediately wanted to use it. There is something about it that really appealed to me and I don't often use sketches. I was digging through my crafty stuff today, looking for something else, when I ran across this stamp. I'd totally forgotten I had it. Immediately the crafty juices started flowing and I knew what I wanted to do with it.

After deciding on the sketch, I chose a paper pack from my stash--Glitz Paper Pack "Yours Truly."

The image is "Home Sweet Home" from My Favorite Things. After coloring it with Copic Markers I die cut and embossed it with Spellbinder Nestabilities "Labels 18." I think I followed the sketch pretty closely except for rounding the corners with my favorite Crop A Dile 1/2" Corner Chomper. I popped the image up with foam dots and added the super cute "Keys to My Heart" die set from Frantic Stamper. I've never had a need to use shims or scissors. Even the most intricate designs cut perfectly. Believe me when I tell you Frantic Stamper has some wonderful dies. Click on the link above to see the large selection of dies they have to choose from. Aren't the keys just the perfect complement to the image and the sentiment? The sentiment was cut with the My Favorite Things Dienamics "Fishtail Flags Layers Stax", also available from Frantic Stamper.

Finally I added rhinestone bling because...it's who I am! LOL. No card is complete without it!

Fitztown Fantasy

Today I am showcasing a card made as inspiration for  Fitztown challenge #51  Fantasy

The image is from the Last Enchanter collection and colored with Copic Markers. The paper is from the DCWV Stardust stack. After fussy cutting the image I applied it to die cuts made with Dienamics Pierced Circle and Sizzix star dies.

Using a Close to My Heart stamp, American Celebration, I heat embossed the shooting stars image with Stampendous Antique Gold embossing powder. I highlighted the center of the starts with bling

Finally I added a sentiment from Create w/TLC to bring my vision all together. Hope you enjoy it.
