Happy Birthday Lindsey!

This little girl sure has a sweet spot in Matt and I's heart! I don't know if its because of all her little health challenges we have had this year with her or the fact that she LOVES to snuggle. She is our only child that will let us hold her like a little baby and love on her. She will lay on our shoulder or chest and and snuggle for the longest time. We LOVE that about our little "Baby Bubba's" She is SO tiny! She only weighs 17 lbs. I was so excited to turn her car seat to face forward until the Dr told me today that I can't! Not until she's 20 lbs. CRAZY! I asked the Dr how much Whitney weighed at her one yr appt and she weighed....23lbs!! That's right, 6lbs more than Bubba Jean. I know, she has the WORST nick names EVA~
For Lindsey's first Birthday I gave her a "Cookies and Milk" party. I think it turned out cute. Happy Birthday Lindsey, we love you so very much!!!!

*Sometimes I call Whitney "Rapunzel"...she has SOOO much HAIR!!!!*

Lindsey's first Christmas
This is a family tradition on the Clements side.  My dad would always make "Christmas Bread" Its like a breakfast bread.  I tried it with potatoes this year and it was DELISH
I really wasn't in the mood to make a turkey or even a ham.  It was just my little family this year and I didn't want a ton of left overs.  I think Matt may have been a "tad" bummed when I told him we were having ummm....*cough* "soup and salad" *cough* BUT...he LOVED every bite.  I tried a new recipe and tried to make it super fancy by putting in a crustini on top of the soup.  Its Butternut Squash soup and you can find the recipe HERE.  It was fantastic!
Walah...not bad eh?

Dance Recital

Ok, so I was SOOOOO nervous for my little Whit Whit! My anxiety level was through the roof and I felt like crying and throwing up. I couldn't sit still and I kept thinking as soon as she sees the hundreds of people staring at her, she will freeze, not dance and probably start crying for me. Can you say I WAS WRONG! This little girl went out there with all the confidence in the world, remembered most of her dance and shook her thang! It was the cutest (minus the orange and yellow costume...Merry Christmas???)

Behind the scenes includes movies, coloring books etc
Whitney is the one on the far left (not holding hands)
Such a pretty little girl, so glad she's mine FOREVER!

Disney On Ice

Great Grandma Echols sent Whitney some birthday money and so we decided to take her to see Disney on Ice...she was in HEAVEN!

Thanksgiving weekend
These were cute little crafts that Elle and I made together to decorate the table with
My awesome dad about to whip out his new Bobby Flay moves!

A little fun after the feast
A concerned father put this up next to the snack table.  Cute Dad
After Thanksgiving we had our annual family Christmas party/gag gift exchange
This gift was HILARIOUS!
If you know my little brother at all....I think we all get a little scared to open his gifts.  For the 2nd year in a row, I got his gift!  Looks like a funny book huh?....Well, when you open it, there is really 52 demonstrations (pictures I might add) on different ways to poop.  My brother just had to add his 2 cents and that means 10 pictures of MY BROTHER DEMONSTRATING THE POOP POSITIONS!!!!!  We as a family have NEVER laughed so hard.  I'm surprised no one pooped their pants!  Adam, I love you bro, but you're a sicko!!!!

Pie Party

I was invited to the CUTEST pie party a few weeks ago! Lesleigh is my super cute friend that makes all my birthday cakes you seen on my blog. We were all asked to bring two of the same pies with a recipe card. We then each got a pie tin so we could taste a slice of pie from everyone!! We then voted on best pie...I WON!!!!! Then we all got to bring home a whole pie made from one of the guest, brought it home to freeze and then enjoyed it for Thanksgiving! Such a fun party!!

 Decadent Peanut Butter Pie
  • 1 cup Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 (12 oz.) container (4 1/2 cups) frozen whipped topping, thawed and divided
  • 1 prepared chocolate pie crust
  • 1 (11.75 oz.) jar Smucker's® Hot Fudge Spoonable Ice Cream Topping
  DIRECTIONS:
  1. BEAT together 1 cup peanut butter, cream cheese and sugar in large bowl with an electric mixer on medium, until well combined. Gently mix in 3 cups whipped topping until thoroughly combined. Spoon mixture into pie shell. Using a spatula, smooth mixture to edges of pie.
  2. RESERVE 2 tablespoons of hot fudge topping into the corner of a resealable food storage bag; set aside. Microwave remaining topping on HIGH (100% power) for 1 minute. Stir. Spread topping over pie, covering entire peanut butter layer. Refrigerate until set. Spread remaining whipped topping (1 1/2 cups), over hot fudge layer, being careful not to mix the two layers.
  3. CUT a small corner from bag containing topping. Squeeze bag to drizzle topping over pie. Place remaining 2 tablespoons peanut butter in a resealable food storage bag; cut bag corner and squeeze to drizzle in opposite direction from topping. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Look at those cute party favors!  They are pie in a jar!
