It is almost time for Back To School

I made this back to school trio for the Wednesday Be Inspired #46 Back To School Challenge over on the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog . http://cuttlebugchallenge.blogspot.com/
The challenge is sponsored by Cosmos Cricket so I pulled this paper out. I used a dollar monthly planner and made a new cover for it. I had seen a set that Mel from Mel Stampz made http://cuttlebugchallenge.blogspot.com/2009/08/be-inspired-46-and-cosmo-cricket.html and I just had to try her technique for embossing digital images. It works but you have to make sure you don't get the paper too thick because it won't fit through the printer. I even used the same Mo image that she used because it is just the cutest. http://www.digitalpenciltoo.blogspot.com/

This is the pencil box. I used a pencil box from the dollar store and made a pattern from it and made the box from cardstock and velcro clousure.

This backpack also a pattern by Mel that you can find at SPS I have been trying to pull that site up so I can add it here now but my computer is being stupid and I'm post this before something happens to it.

This is the sketch that I made up for the Wet & Wild Crop over at Pages In Time last weekend. This is the layout that I made as an example. I like this layout I just wish I could do them in a program on the computer. I would do more.

This was my sample for the Pick Your Menu Challenge that I came up with. You have a list of different items in a menu that you choose and then I send a corasponding item to go with each menu item. It is a very fun challenge.

This is the layout that I did for Luci's challenge. We had tofocus on water. These photos are from George and my first camping trip together back in 1981. I was such a baby then. This is the Ruby Mountains in Nevada.

This is the layout that I did for Cafe Mojo http://cafemojochallenges.blogspot.com/ this week.

Close up of the flowers and stitching and the ribbon which I dyed with Peeled paint Distress Ink and then added stickels. Jingle Bells: a Bella and Bronte image by Mo of Mo's Digital Pencil too.http://www.digitalpenciltoo.blogspot.com/ I used brown flocking on the dog and boots and white on the cap and earmuffs.

How cute is this Cinderella, another image by Mo. The paper here is Cosmo Cricket

And here are the stepsisters. I took the photo at night so you get that yellow glow from indoor lighting. I was going to reshoot it the following day but I got side tracked. I just remembered but it is dark again so I still can't reshoot it. Cute card though.

Close up. I used my shimmering H2O's on the dresses but you can't see the shimmer.

Have a great week.

WET AND WILD MINI CROP!Before I do anything I have to tell you all that my friend Lucy and I are cohosting a mini crop over at Pages In Time this comeing Sat. August 29. We will have games and challenges and oh yes prizes. So please come by and visit with us.Look for us in Crops and other On-Line Events at http://pagesintimestoresite.ning.com/forum?page=2. We start bright and early Sat morning at 8:00 A.M. eastern time. and you have until Midnight Sunday to finish and post your entries. Please come and join us.
I entered this photo and the next backward, nuts. This is the beginning of a Bead Girlz. First I pick out the paper I want to use and then find the buttons (I love buttons) you want to use for the face. And sometimes you need another Bead Girlz for insperation. I do love buttons. You can find the finished girlz at the end of this post.
This is another card using the Michelle Zindorf http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ technique of using a brayer, ink and masks to color the background paper here.

This was one of the technique cards that I put together for last weeks Technique Tuesday class that I teach here in my home. Using packing tape to create a mosaic design and then you use glitter for the grout lines. Cool Hu?

Mumma Dancing 9Mo's Digital Pencil Too. http://www.digitalpenciltoo.blogspot.com/ Love the Mumma images and I love these colors. SU paper and colored pencil to color image. I just found the artist Michelle Zindorf last week and it is amazing what she does with a brayer.

http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ You just have to check out this site and give this technique a try. I plan on doing more that's for sure. I used this example for my technique Tues last week and I'm pretty sure the ladies enjoyed it. This was a card I made for the senior class this week. They all enjoy doing the smooch and lift technique like the background here. Stampin Up' paper and stamp

This is a card I did using Digital papers that I got as a freebee from somewhere and I can't find the company right now. Then the image I used is by Pink Petticoathttp://www.pinkpetticoat.co.uk/index.php Aren't these images the cutest? I surprised myself and didn't add a bunch of flowers to this, just around the images. I just love this paper and wanted to leave as much showing as possible.

Another Frillie Millie Card.

A lot of Basic Grey June Bug and a digital image by Heather Ellis http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=7512472 This stamp makes me think of my grandson Logan and his dog Hank. I used a acrylic overlay on this one.
Look at that little bald head. Too cute. I like these images. There are so many great digital designers out there now and Ya gotta love the instant gratification.

Basic Grey June Bug papers again. This stuff is so much frn for a boy. I panted the background cardstock for this with acrylics. I also made some of the flowers and the dogs at the bottom of the page are chipboard.

And the chipboard dog says Woof

And this chipboard dog says Giddie Up!

I have been working on Bead Girlz the past couple of days. I want to get started on Christmas ones that can be used as tree ornaments. Here is my first Christmas one. For her face I used a clear button that I colored with alcohol inks and then used this flower shaped red button. I also made her hair a litttle more wild and added a snowflake.

I really like the button I found for her face. I really like the body bead also.

I'm starting to think Christmas more and more these days. I bought some new Mo images and I love this one. I had thought I would mount the angel on either side of the glass ornament, which I colored with alcohol inks, but I didn't like that so I put the two sides together with pop ups and it turned out great.

I colored this image with colored pencils and then I put a coat of stickles over the star and used gel pens to highlight the edges and the hair. I cet a second set of wings and used pop ups to apply those.

Have a great day everyone.

New Digi Stamps

The other day I was going through The Paper Craft Planet site just to see what was new and I am so happy to say that I found this group for Mo's Digital Pencil http://www.papercraftplanet.com/group/mosdigitalpencil This woman has a web site that you can buy all of her great designs at http://www.digitalpenciltoo.blogspot.com/ and she has some of the cutest illustrations. She does childrens books and I can't wait to get my hands on those. George will love them too. We just love childrens books and illistrators. Anyway, the little girl image in the layout below is from the second batch of digi stamps I ordered. I had to have it and when the kids came on Thurs I got them to go out side and pose for me. They did a great job don't you think? The paper I use on these two layouts is K & Co. I have had this paper for a long time, a friend gave me some because (it was so me) and then I bought a pack and then last week I found more and of course had to have it.
I used a pizza plate for the background circle and painted it with acrylics. Love this look. I did a ton of cutting and hand stitching here. A Lot of Cutting on the next layout.
Close up of the cut paper flourish and flowers and close up of stitching
I pulled out one of my pipe cleaners covered in fiber for one side of the circle and I layered together flowers and I used colored pencils to do the image.

Close up of cardboard and fiber covered pipe cleaner.

Acrylic butterfly colored with alcohol inks.

This is the other Layout I did using the Mo stamp and KayLynn. Also very different color pallet. The flowers to the left were stamped ,colored in with gel pen and the centers are done with crystal effects and macro beads. The butterflies are cut from on of the pieces of paper and the little girl is colored with colored pencil. I stamped around the edges of the photo and the border paper on this layout too.

The flourish is made with liquid pearls and acrylic that i laid over a tracing of a Prima bling. This works really cool. Custom bling. woo hoo.

You really can't see the detail om the acrylic butterfly that is colored with alcohol inks, but this is a good close up of the flowers.

I was cleaning and organizing my studio the other day and came across this wonderful layout that was only half finished. Well I decided it was time to finish this up. I have two more burried in the pile to finish also. Don't you just love the paper piece owl. Have no idea where I got the pattern so if you have seen it before let me know so I can give credit.

Tim Holtz new stamp set Artful Flight and Basic Grey Papers. I also used some of the new to me Distress embossing powder on the bird and the nest. Too Cool Here is my first card made with an image by Mo Manning at Mo's Digital Pencil. As you will see and can see from my use of the two above in the layouts I just love her work and I know you will be seeing a lot more comeing out of my studio. http://www.digitalpenciltoo.blogspot.com/ There is also a great group over at Paper Craft Planet http://www.papercraftplanet.com/group/mosdigitalpencil

I just realized that the pic of the little boy is put on the card a little tilted. Oh well he is just going down hill to the car with his pumpkin.

These are the cards I made for the Anni-Verve-Sary Challenges over at Verve Stamps last week. I love it when I get to have 5 Julie sketches to work on all at once. I'm going to just list the paper and stamp maker for these today.

This first one is K & Co. paper...Mo' Digital Pencil Stamps. This is one of the cutest. Who am I kidding...I love all the designs. Stampin Up' paper....Mo's Digital Pencil stamp

Basic Grey paper....Verve Stamps http://shopverve.com/ They have some of the best new stamps, you must check them out.

Various cardstock that I embossed and stamp from Digi Stamp Boutiquehttp://www.digistampboutique.co.uk/catalog/images-july-c-52.html
