Boycotted the bus company again today. Met some real rude UWC kids who need better sense.

Moments of Magic

Just woke up as I got sick of sleeping further. Its been a magical morning at the once a year National Software Competition at SP. The last time I went for this event, our team came back with the 3rd prize, 1 point behind RI, but happy with our Win XP Pros. This time, we came back hauling ipod minis from our 2nd prize. The 1st prize HCI people had gotten Xboxes and ipod shuffles, they didn't look too happy. Been a good day and good win since 7.30am and 6hrs. But its the last time that we would win this much crap since there's no JC category for the IT Quiz next year. Algorithm programming is totally a bane since we didnt win anything this year and got away with 3rd last year. Little hope on that next year. Additionally, this will be that last time I would have anything to do with friend of 4 years, Ronald Ip. A great thank you, since you managed lots of networking questions which I did not forsee this time. Like I said, we should have gone to the back questions. And Karan probably still thinks that Tim should give him the ipod mini.

On a side note, bill pill treated the whole class to pizza yesterday. Thanks once more =)

Tell me

荀子曰:

“不闻不若闻之, 闻之不若见之, 见之不若知之, 知之不若行之, 学至于行而止也。"

English translation:

"Tell me and I'll forget. Show me and I'll remember. Involve me and I'll understand"

Ho

Another one of these crap, but seems to be spot-on this time

http://quizbox.com/personality/test82.aspx

Your view on yourself:

Other people find you very interesting, but you are really hiding your true self. Your friends love you because you are a good listener. They'll probably still love you if you learn to be yourself with them.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:

You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with?

Your views on education

You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job.

The right job for you:

You have plenty of dream jobs but have little chance of doing any of them if you don't focus on something in particular. You need to choose something and go for it to be happy and achieve success.

How do you view success:

Success in your career is not the most important thing in life. You are content with what you have and think that being with someone you love is more than spending all of your precious time just working.

What are you most afraid of:

You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.

Who is your true self:

You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

Big Day

Woke up in the morning to my intended alarm, only to fall asleep for 20 minutes again. Ended rather rushed when I made my way out. So today's the big day when that MTV we did been working on for 3 weeks will be shown. Subtitles still not complete, and some portions looking rather crappy and gayish. Heck, what more could go wrong.

Time check, 6.35am arrival at Dover. Freaking place was already raining since 10 minutes ago. The bus came almost immediately, except I had a problem when I arrived. The laptop cargo had minimal protection against the rain. I got this teacher and this sec1 afterwards to ferry the stuff across various shelters while I just got myself drenched completely. Smart move.

Yadda yadda, turns out QZ's subtitles are of no use in the end. So anyways, things went jumpy throughout. Turns out it was the handover ceremony for NP today, and they freaking want $5 from me for something I didn't turn up for. Bleh.

So LCE took us out for a not so solemn consolation lunch at nydc. I did only heard of that restaurant last Friday when 2 promoters came and successfully sold her some freaking coupons to the place. So there, since today was the eve of a holiday, the coupons were ineffective. About the place, its definitely got a mood to it, slightly uptown kinda. Some a(s international durds were around there as well.

Sheesh, left without my chinese hw. Damn.
