Universal Sentosa...

I'm definitely not a newspaper person... but something caught my eye in straits times today... The picture of the Hulk... Damn.. it sure brought back a hell lot of memories... afterall, it was one of the many rides I took that blew my mind off back in the good old orlando days~...

And so I read on.... --> Universal, with Genting International as her non-equity partner, will be bidding for Singapore's 2nd casino resort @ Sentosa.. And if they win.... *drum rolls* Sentosa will get a Universal Theme Park, (yes, your eyes ain't playing tricks on you... "UNIVERSAL THEME PARK") with more than 20 rides (*wide eyes*) across 24.5ha in the Sentosa resort...

"If it is built, Universal Sentosa will have six themed zones encircling a landscaped lagoon. Its chief creative director Mark Woodbury said the six zones will broadly cover themes such as Hollywood, The Lost World, Egypt, superheroes and cartoons.

Within each zone will be famous Universal thrill rides like the Jurassic Park, Revenge of the Mummy, Twister, Shrek, Waterworld and Spiderman."

wow... after 22 years, there's finally something that I am genuinely excited about happening in Singapore...

Universal Sentosa... indeed, our very own universal with a very local touch, 'blending entertainment from East and West'...and so, we can pretty much expect our superheroes to be either asians OR fake caucasians...(yeah.. Asians + wig).. Hm, at least it won't affect Spiderman... And, of cos, guests of different races lining up for the rides, complaining about the bloody heat (orlando was no better, seriously), aunties screaming for their children, school kids flooding the park during field trips and, definitely, universal staff with our local slang, singlish...

Staff: "Sorry lah, your kid not tall enough for the ride. Cannot ride."
Erm... not quite looking forward for that though..but wateva... can tahan lah...

As an avid fan of theme parks and after 2 great experiences @ universal themes park (one in LA many donkey years ago & another in Orlando..), I really cannot wait for Universal Sentosa to actualize! Of cos, little KeY does have a couple (rather, 6) tiny winy suggestions for Universal Sentosa...

KeY's suggestions:
  1. Well, although Hulk isn't exactly my favourite of all Universal rides, it's pretty cool... Still, the ride should be upgraded and improved.. My suggestion --> Make the speed of the whole ride constant... The initial blast for the current one was wow, but as the ride continues, it kinda felt like it was losing speed and hence, the remaining of the ride after the first blast appeared slow, and sadly, less exciting... oh yeah, AND since, I'm absolutely crazy about plunges, I want more plunges!!! MORE!! HIGHER!!
  2. Please oh please bring Duelling dragons over!!! It's soooo good..two 'dragons' moving on 2 separate tracks (ice & fire) side by side. At certain parts of the ride, it felt as if you were going to crash into the other 'dragon'...It was Fantastic!
  3. Erm, Jurassic Park should be more exciting. Seriously, there's sooo much potential in making it a better and more thrilling ride! Add more surprises and scares! The current one is juz so....erm... boring~
  4. Work on creating the Halloween culture in S'pore! Apparently, 'fright nights' at Orlando's universal during Halloween are soooo successful that most of my orlando male friends have to admit that they almost couldn't take it! LOL, seriously, I don't think i can tahan either, but whatever... dare me to...
  5. I want Churros, churros and more churros!!!
  6. Have universal 360 firework display!!!! Of course, not every night like Universal Orlando does... Juz on rare occassions... we gotta be environmental friendly of course... And yeah,
LOL, now I'm sure of my career prospect! I wanna be a theme park operator! (Hell with the pay, afterall I've my 'bronze turtle' to support me...) I wanna work at the Hulk and test ride every single day!!!! Me! Me! Me!

"Sit up right, hold on tight"

Okay, enough of dreaming and get my ass back on earth... well, guess it's too early to be overly excited or to conclude my erm, ambition.. afterall, the proposals ain't even in and the outcome would be announced till year end... (damnit..) so, meanwhile... let's juz contain the excitment and keep our fingers crossed...

Please oh please...

The Incredible Hulk

Universal Orlando... Islands of Adventure...

Waiting for u... I'm waiting for u...

Blah~

Feels like I'm losing my touch in writing. (Maybe I have none to begin with) But, blogging seems so difficult recently. Takes me forever to complete an entry... It's taking me sooo long juz to express something that I've in mind, to comment on something that happened or simply, juz to pour out rubbish. Maybe I've never been blessed with the flair for writing, sadly. For some stuff, practice makes perfect, for others, what matters ultimately is talent.. no matter how hard you try, without talent, things juz won't work out. Hopefully this logic does not apply here...

Reading how well others can write, pisses me off. Why can't I do the same? Why can't I be half as talented as they are... damn it!

Oh well, whatever, I'll get over it...

Mission Impossible...

Okay, yes, I've been back for almost two weeks now... Pretty much settled down and gotten back on track with school stuff...rather Satisfied and coping well (for now)...

Yet... mom still nags at me every single day... For what?

Erm, a simple reason -- My study table...

From my point of view, I'm done with all my unpacking. But again, it really depends on the definition of 'unpacking'. Mine's simple --'unpacking' = emptying the luggage... and that I've achieved... erm.. it's just that, some of the stuff I removed from the luggages, were conveniently placed on my study table... and that, of course, led to mom's dissatisfaction, which in turn led to her nagging...

Well, judging from the above picture, I guess her nagging is justified... so, I believe, the time has come to do something about it... (sigh... it's not going to be easy...)

Wish me luck...

LOL... I cannot describe the satisfaction and pride I have in myself... The pride and satisfaction of securing such a great bargain... Feels good~ Can't help but give myself a pat on the back for making such a wise decision to buy the watch, and of course, sorta 'slapping' myself for not buying a few more....

Guess I ain't doing too badly as a 'converted shopaholic' - I must admit, I've potential..

5 Things I missed sooo much about Orlando...

Sigh, kinda fumbled upon a couple of my fellow WAT USA friends' blogs..and yes.. everyone is 'home-sick', after all, Orlando was what we all called home for 3 fantastic months... Everyone misses Orlando, seaworld and the states in general...Interestingly, nobody (as for now) seems to be glad to be back.. (at least I know I'm definitely not...)

Oh well, from the bottom of my heart: I fucking miss that place...

here's some stuff that I'm missing like crazy...

Number 1 goes to....

[Journey to Atlantis]... The very place I worked my ass off for the past 3 months...

*Sit upright, hold on tight*Posted by Picasa

Number 2 goes to...

Home cooked food... Kudos to the best cook in the world, my beloved Chunnie!, her little helper, Esther..and of course, the dishwasher, me.Posted by Picasa

Number 3 goes to...

ROLLER COASTERS!! I'm soooo in love with them... I'm definitely a 'plunge' person, the feeling when the roller coaster goes down is fantastic... Feels like I'm flying... sigh, with rides as cool as these... how am I supposed to settle for the pathetic rides in Downtown east... I wanna go back to the states!!!! I want more roller coasters!!!

[Shekra] at Busch Gardens...Posted by Picasa

Number 4 goes to...

Sigh, of course, Seaworld Orlando...Posted by Picasa

Number 5 goes to...

SHOPPING! I'm officially a converted shopaholic... Kinda busted 85% of my paychecks on shopping... can't believe myself! But still, retail therapy is definitely the best way to get rid of home-sick-ness and fatigue from work...Posted by Picasa

Home sweet home...

Survived the 18hours flight again miraculously.. (though interestingly, the return flight seemed to be faster than my trip there...) Feels kinda weird to be back home. Surprisingly, everything seems so familiar, as if I never left the place at all... Guess I'm pretty much back to my "Singaporean" life. Unpacking is going to kill, but somehow, I am too lazy to start... Mom's sooo gonna breathe down my neck when she returns, but, whatever~

LOL, I'm really missing the freedom and space I have in Orlando (especially after having Mom repeatedly asking me the same question 5 times over a span of 2hours... gosh... I already answered you!) Mom did comment that she's glad that we're back 'cause the house felt really empty and quiet when we're gone.. (ooooh... now she's going to regret that, when me and ah ping start pissing her off.. LOL) oh well, it does feel kinda nice to have someone hogging you and asking you ridiculous questions, though I'm pretty convinced that the 'nice-ness' of this feeling is NOT going to last, just give me a couple more days and I'll be back to the "pissed off state"...

Feeling a little demoralized so far.. it's nice to see familiar faces of friends and family, but it sucks when their first response goes: "Wow, you put on weight!"... Fuck it, I already know it, so please don't stick it up my face again... LOL, sadly, the only consoling response I got so far was from my cousin:" You didn't put on as much weight as I expected.." LOl.. thanks woman.. Well, guess it must have been the late night snacks and fastfood... Sigh, shall give myself a couple of months to shed the excess baggage... till then... yes, I'm fatter...(say whatever you want, but behind my back please...LOL)

Been quite an adventure for the past 3 months... though it ended on a relatively bad note.. My roomies and I kinda 'fell out' with the adminstration when they caught guys bunking in our hostel during a final spotcheck. The usually nice and friendly people (whom we used to adore) turned real nasty on us and threatened to either terminate us (wtf, we already ended work) or to confiscate our housing deposit (USD250). While trying to reason it out, they accused that we weren't sincere in apologising and stuff like that...although things turned out fine in the end, (we got our money back and they chose to close one eye...) , the confrontation was ugly and we all felt unjust and pissed off. At least we got our money back... but still, guess that's the end of our working relationship, and with the bad record, doubt they would wanna hire us back again next year... too bad then...=P

that's it for now.. looking forward for another adventure, but seriously, not within the next year.. Sigh, time to put on my student hat and get my ass back into honors class...(begining to hate school already...) Anyway, will upload my USA photos soon.. someday... till then...
