二零一四。
感触良多及非常忙碌的一年。
每种经历及感受都让我离以前童心未泯的那个我好远。
长大后,原来想要真心的笑不简单。
但仍然庆幸所拥有的一切。
感恩。

it's alr mid may into 2014. time has unknowingly passed during all these hectic times.
had a good experience in Japan. saw how people there rushed here and there just to catch the train and u seldom catch people strolling slowly, except probably in the park. the way they tried to squeeze themselves onto the train really made my jaw drop. Amazingly, the people there seem to be used to this kind of squeeze-till-die culture. nobody sweared and yelled at the people at the door trying to squeeze themselves into the already damn packed cabin. my impression of the japanese is generally good. they are all very kind and friendly. despite having difficulties understanding us, the passerbys on the streets tried their best to give their directions to the place we wanted to go, till the point they just bring us to the place. the weather was freaking cold during the week we went and we weren't really prepared for this weather. it was under 10 degrees and the only thing i brought with me was a jacket, which wasn't that thick as well. most of the time, was struggling to keep myself warm. the food, was needless to say, awesome. i finally got to taste the authentic ramen from Japan and they were damn good. even a random stall located at the basement which was quite empty sells decent ramen. the japanese are just so good at packaging and making their food looks nice. their cakes just look so delicious and creamy. the only bad thing about the whole trip was probably the experience at the apartment. its very small, we barely have space for all 5 of us to open our luggages. bathroom was very very small and worse, there isn't any normal water heater. the heater was something i've never seen in my life. we have to turn on the fire to literally cook the water. probably we are just spoilt from young. hot water to us is just merely turning on the heater and waiting for the water to flow out. so, conclusion is, just stay at a hotel when you are in japan. i bet hotel is a much safer choice. hope to go to Hokkaido next time :D
as i said, time flies, and next up, is my taiwan trip with Muskies, in about 2.5 weeks time!
this is our first overseas trip together and to the land i love travelling to the most! been travelling there almost annually. though i dun enjoy the food as much as other people do, i just love the way people are there. good service. everyone is friendly there. and of cuz, the 7-11 there, selling all kinds of nice snacks and interesting beverages. :) can't wait for my holidays! this is most probably my last trip of the year as i need to save up $$$.
slowly picking up my regular exercising routine recently. have stopped for quite some time after excessive OT-ing the week before my japan trip and falling sick for one week after the japan trip. finally i managed to force myself to move after much resistance. it needs a lot of determination to sustain a healthy lifestyle, i would say.
good progress on my house.

cny is almost over in a blink. 迎接马年咯!
just booked my air tickets to japan! will be going with my colleagues in apr! so excited! first time gg to japan :) need to save up some bucks for the next two months though. always enjoy eating jap food, finally have the chance to taste the authentic stuff. this is going to be our source of motivation for this financial year period. it's going to be so busy :/
sch has reopened for Ginger. looks like i gotta find my own source of entertainment for another quarter. Gym? Jogging? L4D2? Dota? OT? Watch dramas? Isn't this just the kind of life of a typical working adult just that i share some of guys' hobbies as well?

back to work after a chillax trip to batam last weekend. it was my first time there! very mountain turtle haha. but the view is really very nice from our resort. how often do we get the chance to just sit around and do nothing but chill now we are in the working world? forever worrying about endless timelines and not meeting expectations. it was yet another 爆肝 drinking session with my jc clique and their other halves. 3rd time in less than 1 month! other than the not so value for $ lunch at the resort at turi beach, other things are fine. the seafood there is dirt cheap and nice! we didn't get a chance to do water sports though as the sea state was quite bad.
2 more weeks to cny! so many things waiting for me to do! yet to clean up my own room, buy my new year clothes, trim my very messy hair and buy my favourite pineapple tarts! gosh. work is quite shitty recently. hope i have the energy to tank them all. jiayou to myself!
updates to new house. seems like they have started to build up the floors.

quite a few days lag. it's already the 5th day of 2014.
but looking back, 2013 has been a great year for me. I've accomplished quite a fair bit of things for the year 2013.
some of the major things/changes & first times I did in 2013:
1) Settled on a house with Ginger
2) Picked up jogging as a hobby
3) Done lasik
4) Joined 5-km marathon for the first time
5) Signed up for gym
6) Attended wedding of close friends
7) Became more positive towards my work and went to work more regularly compared to first year of work
8) First time travelling to phuket and doing water rafting
9) Play game in LAN shop for the first time (L4D2)
10) First staycation with Ginger
11) Muskies first overseas trip confirmed
It has been a fulfilling year for me and although life is not as perfect all the time, i'm still thankful for the kind and nice people around me in my life. May the coming 2014 be a great one for all of us ahead!
Some new year resolutions:
1)Try 10-km marathon
2) Plan an overseas trip with Ginger
3) Hone my skills in playing L4D2
4) Lose 3 kg
5) Learn more new things at work
6) Bake something
7) Try hard to flare up lesser
Anyway, special thanks to Ginger for making the effort to book a hotel for a staycation on the countdown night and our anniversary :)))
On a side note, i've just finished watching a Taiwan drama (亲爱的我爱上别人了).
How is it possible that a husband love his wife so much that he actually sacrifice his own happiness to let his wife be with her lover? So i say, dramas are just dramas. Probably in real life, it would turn into a sad case of murdering the wife and then the lover next.

Gdbye & Thank you
once again, another colleague of mine is leaving the company. but this time round, there is a more direct impact as he is my manager. its rather sad that the organization can't seem to keep all the good and competent people there. he left a rather impactful and heartwarming farewell note for me as well. Up till now, he is probably the first person there who appreciate the efforts I put in for my work and the times i stay a little later than usual to clear up some work. Can you imagine, even though i clocked late OT for about 90% of the time during my first year of my work, my previous boss never show any appreciation at all? To her, working past 8 pm was a norm and if you leave on the dot, means you do not care and bother about your work. The management keep asking us how to motivate us in our work. Do they even realise sometimes just a gesture of appreciation will keep most of us going on?
i'm really grateful for the past one year. i've been able to sleep in peace at night and go to work happily everyday because of a good boss. it was a totally contrasting state with my first year of work. even people around me sense the difference in me. the switch of department was really a turning point. prior to that, i almost wanted to give up this path and chose another field instead. work to me then was a torture everyday. i've to drag myself to work everyday. but i know good things eventually need to end as there are always ups and downs in life. indeed, we never know the future, our paths may cross again and hopefully i may be a stronger person then.
