Cardinal Points

It has been so hot around here again.  UGH

I did stitch on Cardinal Points most evenings for an hour or 2 but last night I just couldn't do it.  I was tired and it was hot, so I just didn't stitch.  But I do have some progress.  It's getting so big that it is hard to get a decent picture.  Ignore the wrinkles.

Mickey Mouse Progress

I have been working every afternoon on Mickey.

Thursday and Friday's Progress  - Finished Page 3 and 4

Saturday's progress - Started page 1
It was a rough go.  I stitched, frogged, stitched, frogged and
restitched.  Finally got it right.

Cardinal Points

I forgot to post last week's progress on Cardinal Points on Monday.  I love this project.

We went furniture shopping yesterday and bought a new sofa for the family room.  It is a La-Z Boy recliner in chocolate brown.  It should be delivered in 3-4 weeks.  The salesman said 2-3 but I don't want to be disappointed when it doesn't come that soon, so I am telling myself 3-4.

Yesterday's progress on Mickey Mouse

1st Bob and I spent most of the day making tomato sauce with tomatoes from his garden.  By the time I was finished I was exhausted.  I sat on the sofa with an ice pack on my feet and stitched on Mickey.  It was wonderful.

Progress on Mickey Mouse

I've been stitching a little more than 25 minutes per day on this project, but I also didn't stitch on it at all on Wednesday.  We went out to lunch with an old friend of Bob's.  It was nice to meet someone from his past.

I know the fabric looks pink, but it is actually white.
At 25 minutes per day, I don't think I can finish this by the
end of November.

Mickey Mouse by Andy's Crafty Treasures

Andy's Crafty Treasures is an ETSY shop.

Designer:  Andy's Crafty Treasures (ETSY)
Design:  Mickey Mouse
Fabric:  18CT White Aida
Floss:  DMC 310
1st Stitch:  08/06/2022
For:  My niece Carla for Christmas 2022 ((I hope)
Notes:  I joined a Facebook group called 25/7 where you pick a project and
stitch on it for 25 minutes a day until the project is finished.  I have been stitching
this for about 40 minutes a day while I watch a Flosstube episode.  I started it using
2 strands of DMC 310 and hated how it was looking so I frogged MIC and part of the K and started
over using 1 strand of floss and like it much better.  I'm hoping I can finish it by the end of
November so I can FFO it to send to Carla in Oregon for her Christmas present.

My progress on Cardinal Points over the last week.
A member of the czookstitch Facebook group as so kind and
sent me a skein of GAST Raven for this project.  After she sent
the skein I got notice from Cobweb Corners that they had 10 yard
skeins available so I order one just to make sure I have enough.  You
use a lot of Raven in this project.  I LOVE THIS PROJECT!!!

Cardinal Points weekly update

I started page 4 and I think I got some substantial progress.  The first picture is a close-up of what I stitched, and the 2nd picture is the entire project.

I was a bit surprised the other day.  Before Cardinal Points I always used 2 strands of floss on 18CT Aida.  Cardinal Points calls for 1 strand so that is what I did.  The other day I started a Mickey Mouse project on 18CT AIDA.  I used 2 strands of floss, and I don't like it.  I think what I will do is continue to stitch the words, Mickey Mouse, using 2 strands and then stitch the actual Mickey with 1 strand.

Had a disappointing Saturday.  My sister, niece and I were booked for a long weekend in OC, NJ right after Labor Day.  My niece called her mom on Saturday and asked if she would try to change the dates because she had tickets to see Elton John on Saturday night to the tune of $500.00 per ticket.  Sister called and there was nothing available earlier in the week.  I was so disappointed that I spent the afternoon crying on and off.  I haven't been anywhere since 2019 and I was so looking forward to getting away for a few days.  Oh well, it wasn't meant to be.  But I sure am sad.

Christmas ornaments

I just counted and I have 15 Christmas ornaments stitched and waiting to be FFO'd.  One of them will be fore me as I stitched it and dated it in 2019 and it is sewing themed.  I just need to find some backing fabric for it.  But 14 ornaments stitched for gifts for 6 people means I have this year and 2023 covered and I will be stitching 4 more this year (one every month) so that will cover 2024.  LOL - Love it!  I have 3 that I started in July that will be September, October and November's ornaments.

It's so hot here.  I just heard on the weather last night that we have had 31 days so far this year of temperatures over 90 degrees.  I can't and don't understand people who deny climate change.  The weather in the entire world isn't normal.

I'm tir4d this morning or maybe just bored.  I need to do something and I don't know what.  I'm going to quit whining now and go do something more productive than whining.
